    Last nite at Neighbors, people were discussing going to Eddie's Attic in Decatur tonite (thursday july 28). A fellow skydiver is returning to playing music (keyboards) tonite. I checked Eddies website. There are three bands mentioned: Joshua Golden Band Johnny Roquemore Chip Houston Which band are we going to see? I want to make sure I get there in time to see the right group.... Who will be going? Count Off! Hope to see you there! marc

    Is is always great to meet DZ.com virtual friends in the flesh!! heheheh! Real beer is better than virtual too! I will definitely make Wed at Neighbors a weekly stop! Neighbors is a great place! Pizza was excellent. There may have been around 35-30 skydivers from all the local dzs, so I had a chance to learn about my options. I think the first DZ I will visit will be Monroe, because there are more RW people there. But I definitely will make the rounds! Thanks once again to all of you for your PMs and friendly advice and conversation! And I am still hoping to room mate with someone living near the Marta train lines. Atlanta traffic looks insane!     Hopefully I will be there before dark! I have to stick around here till my manager shows up to discuss a project I am starting... MarkS will be there around 9pm, I just spoke with him. I will be wearing a ZHills Tshirt, call me over! marc

    Hello Atlanta! I have been working at Bell South Tower since Monday, so far so good! Looking out the 26th floor window, though, I see a very white/gray haze. TV news this morning said it was a code red smog alert. I guess I will hold my breath till I am back in zhills! So who will be at neighbor's bar tonite? Can someone tell me how to get there from marta N3 north ave station?     Thanks everyone! Rick and JRAF....thanks, I think. You both owe me emails or a phone call! To everyone else, please ignore Rick and JRAF, they are fellow muff brothers of the highest level of 'assholity' possible on the muff ladder to number-oneness, and their judgement is clouded by too many magic carpet rides at zhills. Marks place sounds great! I will check it out! I was hoping to avoid using a car in big city rush hour traffic until I got settled in my job over there.... so if anyone knows of anywhere closer to the metroline, send me a PM. I will buy the first case at the FARM or where ever we finally meet up!

    I am starting next week. I haven't interviewed in person with them, and don't know how the work situation is there, but hopefully we will like each other and I will be there for the duration of the contract. The Atlanta Tech market is much better than in Tampa area (there is nothing in Sarasota, so I would have to travel alot anyway)...It's tough being away from home so much and it would be great to meet you all in Atlanta.     Hello everyone in Atlanta! I will be doing a project at Bell South Towers (North Ave N3 station) for a few months. Will be staying only mon/tues/wed nites, flying back to zhills/tampa on Thurs nites. I hate doing the hotel stays. So if anyone knows of someone (preferably a skydiver ) with an extra room, preferably near the metro so I don't have to drive in rush hour......please PM me. I would rather contribute to somebody's mortgage/rent/jumptickets than pay some hotel chain!!! Thanks, and hopefully I will meet you all at the local DZs....I'd like to spend some weekends skydiving up there!     I log my tunnel time separately. I just write down date, how many minutes, who was my coach. I do so many drills in there, many repeated often, that I don't bother writing details. Plus I have the videos to watch if I want to remember details. Then I sum up the minutes, multiply by $12.     I used that bank branch office for years for both my business and personal accounts! If I recall, back then the drive thru was totally automated, with a TV monitor since the tellers were down the street (corner of Lincoln/Ashland/Belmont). An article I read over 30 years ago had a similar story....The drive thru thief pointed his gun at the TV monitor (there wasn't a man behind a window), threatened to shoot the monitor, and he got away with the cash! Maybe this guy's note threatened the bank teller's family or something external.....? mp

    All of these chinese fast food joints that have sprung up in Florida over the last few years (they all have the same menus and look the same) have signs in the windows saying 'NY Style'.....and my comment to the girl behind the counter was "How about making me some CHINESE STYLE FOOD??? Chinese food here in Florida is mostly AWFUL!

    Although it sounds like sci-fi, we have seen that tom clancy type incidents can indeed occur. The sad part is that the govt has had plenty of time to secure our borders and cargo shipping ports etc, but we are not much further along than before 9/11. Although I still have to take off my shoes at airport security checks. marc
