Chances are with an attitude like that, the change to smarter/stronger/safer may not happen before something much worse happens. When we all read about your jumping in gusts, and saw your attitude about it, we tried to be helpful and positive in our responses. We will still try to be positive about it. But..... Two very bad decisions in a month. Skydiving is a risky sport. Why tempt the gods of risk? No flare??? That has nothing to do with barefoot jumping. You need to be coached more. Talk to Sally or Laurie before your jumps and get their feedback. Even if it seems like a 'simple jump plan'. Anything new should definitely be discussed with them. We still do that and will continue to do that, even with hundreds of jumps. marc

I totally agree with Ron. We have tonysuits, bev suits, michigan suits. the michigan has great construction and features. For example, the gripper design is really great, the hand fits into/around it rather than pulling fabric away from the arm or leg and creating drag....if that is hard to picture, seeing one in person will show you. highly recommended. I was teamed with THE ANVIL! We had fun!! This is going to be one SWELTERING SUMMER though.....end of May and yesterday by mid afternoon we were all too cooked to jump anymore! Going to have to get my jumps in early and sit in Khan's pool for the rest of the day! This year hasn't produced a lot of bananas in the yard, but we do have some, plus some starfruit and pineapple that we can cover in chocolate.....maybe by July we will have enough to bring along....depends on Mother Nature! marc

Anyone who thinks Japanese women are shy has never been to a bar in Japan! As with the men, alcohol lubricates and stretches the social fabric! Mild mannered by day, totally nutso at nite for both sexes. You've all seen that crazy japanese sports gameshow on cableTV with the funny overdubbing....Its a good example how silly they get. Anyway, those types of shows have existed for men, it was only a question of time that women would have their shows too. (kinda like chippendales bringing striptease for women)....This just happened to show up on a TV review.... When I was living in Japan in the early 90's, there was a weird phase for a while where the secretaries (OL's....office ladies as they are called in Japan) would rush to clubs after work, change into outrageously sexy outfits and do group stripteases....just to show off..... Japanese have a totally different view than the puritan west. Even these days marriage is not for love, so both spouses look for fun outside of the home. Very common for decades are the Phone Clubs, where men and women get connected just for casual afternoon sex. (used to be men paid for the connection, women didn't)....I am sure that the internet and wireless messaging has evolved this into the new millenium.... Japan is a very stressful environment, and so the Japanese after work do all they can to 'blow off steam' if you pardon the analogy to this video clip.... marc

For all you Tampa Bay area friends.... Tomorrow nite is the annual Radio WMNF Tropical Heatwave Party at Ybor City Cuban Club, 6pm-2am... Its the best music event of the year around here!! The Cuban Club has 5 floors, each with a stage. Outside they have TWO stages, and participating bars around the neighborhood too! I've been vegetarian for 25 years, ever since I saw a side of beef covered in flies in a butcher shop in south america.....then I watched a pig get slaughtered and cleaned and cut up....another time I was hiking and walked past a chicken factory.....shit and feathers and smelly for a kilometer around it....so that got me off meat of any kind! But my nose still perks up when I drive by a BBQ place....yeah, we are natural omnivores/meat eaters. And 'natural born killers' too.... That doesn't mean we have to kill though... Interestingly, stopping eating meat hasn't lowered my high cholesterol level! Marc

There's a HUGE (myabe 4'x10') poster of that shot on a wall in one of the buildings I used to work in. It shows almost the entire body, not just upper half. Looks like she just exited the plane and getting ready to freefly... I loved visiting my coworkers in that section of the building....always gave me a boost of good energy seeing something beyond the usual 'teamwork' BFR posters....
