  1. From the picture it seems that he has a belly mount either that or a huge beer gut. Now all legalities aside what is the point of the belly mount in this jump???? you really think he stands a chance to use that belly mount if the reserve comes out with a mal? if the skyhook doesnt work? ...

  3. Beg to differ with you on that its hard to do when doing camera...unfortunately. Had this TI that we had great jump chemistry for tandems. Well one day he decides to make the video even funnier... so I am doing the video and doing my thing when all of a sudden he grabs both of my wrists and pulled my arms which poped my wings and brought me up to his level and then goes for it. He was just freaking around with no intent to kiss me but since I use a sidemount it looked like he did. Made for a funny as hell video. After that it was quite tricky filming him and keeping my hands out of his reach. Yes he tried repeatedly. ...
  4. dude even if it was a "regular" jump just remember complacency kills. Will flying a camera get you in trouble, can you fly your body without even thinking or will you be so worried about the camera and the shot that you are not going to be stable and flyable. Yeah probably saying that you are not going to worry about it, trust me you will Hope you are stable on opening cuz a bad opening with about probably 5 #'s of weight on your head hurts like a bitch. Try not being able to move your neck for a week thanks to it. If you have a malfunction will you be able to handle it properly, will you be able to handle it while the lines are snagged in your helmet and you either chop your helmet (assuming you have a cutaway system in your helmet) or clear the lines. Try having your head pinned to your body cuz of line twist that pinned your camera equipment down, with such force that they actually twisted your camera and broke the base it was on. I know that you are itching to jump your camera and by the end of the day it is your decision, but guidelines are there for a reason. A jump with camera is not just another jump, we are in a sport that can kill you why do you want to push it that much just for the hell of it. It is not a race to see who can do it with the earliest. To me someone with 50 jumps (going by your profile) trying to fly camera "just for fun" is suicide. Cameras and their problems don't distinguish between "serious jumps" and "just for fun". Don't know you or your skills, but even with tunnel time and all 50 jumps is only 50 openings and 50 chances you had to learn new things to handle. And with 50 jumps I doubt that you have encountered that many. Talk to your camera guys at the dz and really pay attention to them. Hope you have an open mind and are ready to accept the consequences of not doing so. ...
  5. let see... so you are going to be jumping at a lower altitude than usual.... and it'll take you a lot longer to reach terminal velocity than you probably ever experienced..... and with that in mind it'll probably take u longer to get stable.... so how many new variables can you introduce and handle on one jump? ...
  6. not only is the software freaking expensive but it is also a pain in the ass to work on it. It is a mindnumbing job if you know how to do it but every now and then something goes wrong and then you end up debugging the file which could take forever if its a big design. ...
  7. I don't know about how folks run business in different DZ's, but come on lets grow up a bit and be civilized. Why would you care that your funjumpers work at other DZ's? Did you ever stop to think about how them doing their fun jumps at your DZ might actually be a good reflection on your DZ? Geez. So far I've been fortunate that three other DZO's in the surrounding areas are friendly and actually greet you and encourage your visiting their Dz's. Hell some of our DZ's even have staff that works at several of them, and one of them trained me as a TI knowing that I worked at another DZ. I think you just lost a customer to a really bad decision. ...
  8. If they need it digital its one thing, if they are aking for a digitized version, most likely its for embroidery and that requires a special program and format so that they can use it to tell the machinery what to do. If this is the case, pay someone to do it, otherwise you'll have to get the software and learn it and its not going to be fun. ...
  9. Did two before my AFF. And although I knew I was going to take it all the way up, It kinda worked out for me. If you don't feel comfortable then its your choice to keep doing tandems. Nothing wrong with that, mik it for all you can, there is no better way to learn canopy control and general canopy flying than with an instructor by you. ...
  10. You are only light floaty, the rest of us are just faster ...
  11. I have a Z1 and a Mindwarp and use em both for everything, never had any problems with the Z1 while sitflying. I have left the plane with the visor open on a head down and it snapped itself back in place. Have used it without the visor for nightjumps only. ...
  12. You didn't give enough to the weather gods! yeah it sucked to have to postpone the balloon jumps, well guess itll be next friday. ...
  13. That just plain sucks!!! there is no need for that withing the skydiving comunity. Yeah I second Dave on that one, fuck them. ...
  14. Mine has worked wonders, and trust me its humid down here I've seen that happen to a couple of people 'round, however theirs didn't stop firing ever and had to be chunked. ...
  15. High Altitude jumps are to 20k with oxygen on the plane while on the ride to altitude. Pretty fun. Aside from the balloon jumps and night jumps as well, will be a fun time for SCR's and VSCR's so come on down and get on board. ...
  16. dude, you have way too much time in your hands today... and I thought I was slacking. When are you dropping by? ...
  17. damn, now that was some video. I would've hate to see someone at our dz have that delayed reaction since we actually put em out @ 5k. Be ready and prepared for everything and yes hook knives are a must. The one dumping should be into the relative wind as soon as you leave the plane, and if not deployed withing first 3 secs, just dont do it. ...
  18. Congrats Todd!!! hope you had fun, would've joined you on weds but the venezuelan in charge kinda forgot to call me everyone had fun over there from what I hear. Keep us posted on her jump schedule that way we can join you. ...
  19. : 18 : 0 5 work jumps, lots of freefly, couple of 10 ways, hybrids, fun VSCR, track and dives, lobster dive, overall pretty nice wkeend. ...
  20. Don't know about those kahakis and all, but I still have my golf clubs somewhere.... its a tough call sometimes... beautifull weather, should I go to the DZ or golf? bwahahahhahahahaha, those clubs haven't seen the light of day in a long time. I think I've landed at the golf course more than I stepped into it in the last two years as well.
  21. search it and dont be in a rush to get into it. Keep in mind the only difference between a beginer and a "pro" video will be quality, but they will both have the same complexity and potential for trouble. ...
  22. Ok guys, he said his last words, let it rest at that. For those of us who did know him, this was a try to keep him alive and the rest of us safe issue, but now that he has chosen to step out of the sport, there is no need to keep beating a dead horse, specially if there is nothing that you are contributing. Blue Skies ...
  23. closest big would be IAH I would say its about a 45 min ride to the DZ. If you make it to houston early I am pretty sure that someone (if I can't) can get you a ride and/or place to stay then a ride. So far I am set up for being there fri-sun. ...
  24. hope you are right dude, and once his big ass gets tired of that bike, ill be talking to him to get myself a new cheap almost not used toy. whohooooooooo btw congrats dave. ...
