HE? could be correct, possible only four went to SeaTac Airport, but six were collected. They didn't go straight to SeaTac.
-
Yes, six chutes collected and four given to Cooper. The back chute found on the plane in Reno was a Pioneer 1960 24ft, Hayden received a 1957 26 ft... Cooper didn't use either of Hayden's chutes. You can work out the rest..
-
It refers to two different Hayden chutes.. In Reno, the 24 ft found was Hayden's 1960. He received his 1957 26 ft. the top one listed. Cossey claimed he gave two back chutes which he owned. They were at his house. I realize four chutes were given to Cooper but for clarity I am ignoring the two front reserve chutes. Just focus on the back chutes. 2 back chutes from Cossey, 2 back chutes from Hayden. four total = 2 front reserves, one was a dummy, Hayden's 1960 24 ft and one of Cossey's chutes delivered to Cooper. Hayden's 1960 24 ft was left on the plane. Cossey's back chute was used by Cooper.
-
My read of the evidence is there were 4 back chutes gathered, 2 from Cossey and 2 from Hayden,, (ignore the front reserve chutes) Two were sent to Cooper, Hayden's 1960 24ft and one of Cossey's.. Hayden's 1960 24 ft chute was left on the plane. FBI returned Hayden's 1957 26ft chute to him which wasn't sent to Cooper. Cossey never got the unused chute back and Cooper used the other. Advancing this one step,, Cossey claimed he supplied a Pioneer and another customized type.. When Cossey heard that a Pioneer was left on the plane he would have naturally assumed his other chute, the customized one was used by Cooper. If the unused Pioneer was Hayden's then Cossey's assumption may have been wrong. Further, if Cooper used Cossey's Pioneer then all the found chutes/parts shown to Cossey would have been wrongly compared.
-
More confusion, the cut lines was Cossey's reserve chute... sounds like the FBI was confused or intentionally misleading. The FBI kept it because it was left on the plane, they gave him back the other chute.. that can only mean Cooper jumped with Cossey's chute.
-
I doubt the 302 is wrong, the size and year are clearly written on the card.. which was noted as found, I doubt the chute was measured. They just wrote down what the card said.. and Hayden's other chute clearly says 1957 26 ft. E. is 26 ft the chute returned to Hayden, never on the plane. the other 24 ft Hayden chute was left on the plane. Cooper didn't use either Hayden chute.
-
BOOM, I got it figured out.... Cooper took Cossey's back chute not Hayden's. Hayden did supply two back chutes one was given to Cooper and left on the plane but it wasn't the one he got back.. Hayden got back the other chute not given to Cooper. Cossey was correct, Cooper jumped with his back chute. NOT Hayden's. Proof, the unused chute found on the plane was a 1960 model, 24' Pioneer. The one Hayden got back was a 1957, 26' Pioneer. So, there is no way Cooper jumped with the other Hayden chute. It had to be Cossey's.

You don't deserve a comprehensive response, you have completely ignored the evidence. I am not going to waste time disproving something that didn't happen based on your own assumptions. This is nonsense, the FBI flightpath veers E at about 20:12 then turns right about 20:15, exactly as the chase planes describe it did. It is clear you aren't interested in the facts. There is no discussion from there. If you want to argue that a western flightpath is possible then sure anything IS possible but the overwhelming evidence supports the FBI flightpath and only your assumptions support the Western one. Your weak assumptions aren't enough to overcome the FBI evidence.
-
I always challenge assumptions, a general truism. But you have done it using weak assumptions and ignoring facts and evidence. You have engaged in various logical fallacies to push an alternate flightpath including using the Palmer report as a strawman. I have posted the evidence that destroys your alt flightpath idea. You have some very weak assumptions and poor logic. The FBI flightpath has a veering East around 20:12 and then a turn right exactly as the chase planes described.. a western alternate flightpath doesn't match whatsoever. You continue to ignore the facts.
-
That still doesn't tell us which chute Cooper got. Hayden did supply two back chutes, one left on the plane he got back. FBI files suggest Cossey owned the chute and it was an NB-6 green. There are several possibilities.. still unresolved. Cossey is mistaken or lying... and The FBI used both of Hayden' back chutes, or The FBI used one of Hayden's and one of Cossey's and Cooper took Cossey's.

Found something interesting.. Finally,, After carefully analyzing the Cooper money in a video in slow motion, I am convinced that the stack has a piece of rubber band attached to the top bill. My theory is that the 3 packets arrived as one bundle, the rubber bands holding the packets together in a bundle deteriorated and the 3 packets slightly separated. The sides of the money packets was completely gone so there is no way the rubber bands were “intact” or “around the packets”, they “crumbled to the touch”.. Downloading and running the video in slow motion it is clear that the object which appears to be a rubber band fragment is under the plastic covering the money attached to the money and not a reflection. The takeaway, The rubber band was one third from the end, that suggests two were used. It appears to be a medium wide rubber band. Some are thinner some thicker. Tom Kaye tested a single narrow band for one packet. Two medium thick rubber bands suggests they were holding a bundle of packets and not individual packets of 100 bills. This is very important as the dominant narrative has been that the packets arrived on TBAR independently and that restricts the means by which they could have arrived. The 3 packets arriving on TBAR as one bundle is a game changer. FBI agent Pringle also claimed the money was from one bundle.

You keep pushing the radical alternate fightpath based on unknown assumptions while ignoring all the evidence for the FBI flightpath. The flightpath was a collaboration from the Air Force, Boeing and NorthWest,, The winds were estimated based on an average between 8-9PM taken at Portland and Salem. Winds around 8 were from the ESE and S. The simplest is that the flightpath is correct. This perfectly matches the FBI flightpath, it doesn't match the western alternate. FBI FILE P 1662 _______ WAS INFORMED BY ___________ PORTLAND AIRPORT, THAT TWO CHASE WHICH PLANES FOLLOWING FIVE MILES BEHIND HIJACKED AIRCRAFT SUDDENLY VEERED TO THE EAST AND THEREAFTER MADE A RIGHT TURN. THE POINT OF THEIR CHANGE OF COURSE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN CLOSE PROXIMITY IN TIME AND LOCATION TO THAT BELIEVED WHERE UNSUB DEPARTED THE PLANE.

There is conflicting info... typical NORJAK Cossey claims all the chutes were his, Hayden claims the back chutes were his and the one left on the plane and returned to him is confirmed to be his.. Hayden's chutes were packed by Cossey. Cossey was used as an expert to eliminate chutes found after NORJAK. Is somebody lying? or assuming.. There is another explanation,, both Hayden and Cossey supplied two back chutes each and only two were given to Cooper. Either both were from Hayden or one from Hayden and one from Cossey... So, which chute did Cooper actually jump with? Hayden believes it was his second (missing) chute and Cossey believed it was his chute. Did the FBI mix this up or are they withholding info??
-
Found it was most certainly a B-8 parachute... thrown on by the crew for bailouts. Hahneman on the aircrew would have been familiar with the B-8. Cooper used an NB-8, but something has always bothered me.. the chutes belonged to Hayden, packed by Cossey but he claimed he altered the location of the ripcord. Does it make sense that a rigger would modify a ripcord for somebody else's chute? wouldn't that be dangerous?
-
Does anybody have info on WW2 C-47 crew bailout gear?
-
Hahneman was on a WW2 C-47 (DC-3 variant) aircrew... troop transport.. paratroopers Cooper asked for a “knapsack”,, WW2 paratrooper gear included a “knapsack” The C-47 had a 15 degree flap setting.. 1/4= 0 degrees 1/2 = 15 degrees (Cooper demand) 3/4= 30 degrees Full= 45 degrees The C-47 had an interphone.. Hahneman manned the interphone. "Cooper used the term "interphone" vs intercom or phone as Tina said she thought a passenger would say." Interphoneis a term used a lot in WW2 acft and through the early 1970s. It refers to the amplified audio system that allows crew to talk to such other over head and handsets and also allows the distribution of comm radio audio to multiple crew members. Later aircraft, such as the F 14, seemed to use the term Intercomor ICS. The 727 had an interphone system often powered by Gables Engineering Interphone Amplifier. P/N G-708-1 or C3670-4. NSN: 5831-00-306-4654. It is curious that Cooper used the term Interphone. To me it indicates at least some familiarity with aircraft systems. 377"

Cooper didn't demand nonstop to Mexico City, he demanded nonstop to Mexico. It is 1895 miles from SeaTac to Mazatlan within the 727 range. (Mazatlan was mentioned somewhere in the FBI files but I can't find it) It wasn't a ruse, Cooper made a demand he thought was achievable, it makes no sense that he would make a demand that he knew would be rejected. No way. Cooper's initial plan was to jump South of US border.

The FBI flightpath does veer East around 20:12 and turns right around 20:15.. that eliminates an alternate western flightpath. FBI FILE 10 P 1662 _______ WAS INFORMED BY ___________ PORTLAND AIRPORT, THAT TWO CHASE WHICH PLANES FOLLOWING FIVE MILES BEHIND HIJACKED AIRCRAFT SUDDENLY VEERED TO THE EAST AND THEREAFTER MADE A RIGHT TURN. THE POINT OF THEIR CHANGE OF COURSE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN CLOSE PROXIMITY IN TIME AND LOCATION TO THAT BELIEVED WHERE UNSUB DEPARTED THE PLANE. The Elvis flightpath has left the building…

Yeah, lots of variables.. the FBI guessed at the wind direction. Assume "Cooper" leaves plane at point A, plane travelling at 190 mph, 10,000 ft, travelling S into S wind 25 mph at elevation and 5 mph ground. What is the estimated LZ range from point A.. given an early pull and late pull.. example: 2-5 miles from point A? this was the parachute.. https://themountainnewswa.net/2011/10/25/db-cooper-case-heats-up-again-with-controversy-over-parachutes/

There was CP TI on the 727.. water system, lav and ducting. It is possible some of those particles were picked up on the plane. The Elvis Yttrium TV analogy is silly, there was no glass shards on the tie.. finding Yttrium on a tie is rare, especially in the context of all the other particles. Virtually all those particles are used in dentistry and electronics. They suggest ceramics or coatings.. missiles and radomes. (Many are found in hand held sparkler paste) The tie was at least 6 years old. Probably left by Cooper and was likely exposed to multiple environments. DNA can exclude but not include. Nuclear DNA can ID a person, Mitochondrial can narrow it down to 10-20% of population. Anyone matching the Cooper tie DNA is still in a population too large.. to matter. However, new DNA tech could probably get a better sample from the tie or parachute cords. None of the tie evidence points to Boeing.

I found that the wind direction used by the FBI LZ was a proxy derived from Portland and Salem data averaged between 8-9 PM. The winds were virtually the same direction from surface to elevation but increased in speed. However, the data from Portland and Seattle shows that the direction was not constant, it was shifting between ESE to S to SSW... In other words the FBI guessed at the wind direction for the LZ. The Placard was found virtually right under the flightpath, that suggests a wind from the S which is consistent with winds measured at 8 PM at Toledo Wa... The Placard found much later suggests the FBI got the wind direction wrong. A question.. If Cooper jumped back first facing into a S wind of 25 knots at elevation and 5 knots at ground how far would he drift from the exit point?? I assume he would travel forward briefly then drift back basically along the flightpath.. any ideas?

Cooper wasn't seen jumping... It was Hahneman that a crew member witnessed descend the rear stairs backwards and jump off back first. He hijacked a 727 for ransom in May of 1972. I have been researching him for the Cooper hijacking. Mark was speculating that Cooper may have done it the same way.

Derek, you spelled Snowmman wrong.

Ralph Himmelsbach “There were 10,000 twenty dollar bills assembled in straps of 100 bills to a strap and individual straps held together with rubber bands.” "straps" are currency straps or bank bands in counts of 100 bills (packets) for denominations over $1 at 6:35 of video… Tina Mucklow saw "bank-type bands around each package"

The bills were Micro'd on a Recordak machine well before Norjak. The Bank had an emergency stash of circulated bills, total $250,000 with $20,000 in $10's and $230,000 in $20's. The entire stash was recorded in order. The FBI had nothing to do with recording the serial numbers. The Bank was responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Micro matching the money. They grabbed $200,000 for Cooper and left the rest but this is where it gets screwy, typical NORJAK. The bank took the remaining $30,000 of $20 bills which was 15 packets of 100. They wrote down only the top and bottom bill serial number for each packet and sent the 15 pairs of numbers to the FBI as well as the Micro list of all the bills. The FBI was instructed to use the paired numbers as start and stop points, remove them from the list and all bills in between which they didn't actually have numbers for. They ignored the 10's. The 15 packets of $20's that didn't go to Cooper but were on the list were immediately incorporated into a new Bank ransom stash which was also run through a Recordak... everybody following so far.. The FBI was having trouble deducting the bills and creating the list so they asked the Bank for a list of all the remaining bill serial numbers from those 15 packets. The Bank supplied the FBI with the Recordak Micro for the new ransom stash noting the ranges for the 15 packets. Now the FBI had to deduct each bill found from the original list. However, the range for the list was slightly different, the packets didn't quite match, that may be where the 9998 bills comes from, two bills short. There is an error. There were two Bank ransom stashes, two sets of Recordak Micro's and entire thing was under the control of the Bank. If the Bank didn't maintain the integrity of the ransom stash then the FBI bill list would be wrong. Consider the ramifications if money was used/replaced from the ransom stash and the Micro wasn't updated. It is very unlikely but theoretically possible that the TBAR money didn't go to Cooper but was used in another ransom payout if the Bank didn't maintain the Recordak Micro. I did find an earlier Portland ransom payout that was never recovered. A little OT but interesting, a guy phoned in a bomb on a plane that would go off if it descended to a specific altitude. He would let them know how to disarm if paid, he effectively hijacked a plane without being on it. He was caught in Portland but the ransom money was never recovered.
