There really was no way to write this poll without arousing suspision. Anyway last night I saw this TV show, or bits of it, called "There's Somthing about Miriam". 6 guys have the opportunity to win the heart of some mediteranean lass. Little do they know that she is a guy and they only find out at teh end of the series after several of them have made out with her... Anyway somehow this made it to air - they had to pay each of the guys about $200K to beable to. So the short answer is that the picture is a guy. www.miriamssecret.com CJP Gods don't kill people. Simple question. Based on the attached snap shot (probably NSFW) would you do the deed with the individual pictured? CJP Gods don't kill people. People with Gods kill people

AU$35 (US$24.32) for one ticket AU$30 (US$20.86) if in batches of 10 AU$28 (US$19.45) if in batches of 100 (yeah right!). To the top - between 10K & 13.5K depending on mood of piliot and business of DZ. CJP Gods don't kill people. People with Gods kill people

Funny story. I did turn up drunk and drink during the movie and it was still shit. So much so that I fell asleep. Mind you I had had a busy day... CJP Gods don't kill people. People with Gods kill people

I fractured my ass when I was 18 in a climbing accident. Unfortunately there is not a fat lot you can do about it. I recomend a comedy rubber ring to sit on and lying on your front a lot. If it's any consolation you really appreciate being able to sit down after its mended. CJP Gods don't kill people. People with Gods kill people

You do what you are used to. I have done 170 jumps at 6/7 different DZs and probably 15 different planes and not once have I worn a seatbelt. It is not a regulation in some places (read countries) and therefore we don't have the option of refusing in most cases unless we want to move oversees to jump... CJP Gods don't kill people. So did anyone get any jumps in at nethers? CJP Gods don't kill people. People with Gods kill people

No they don't but the original reason for this analysis was a statement that there were less gun murders in Aus than the US. Whilst this does not account for relative urbanisation you can still make this as a general comparison. I am sure that if this analysis was furthered to include urbanisation it would not suddenly show more murders in Australia than the US... edited to add: FYI Australia Urban: 85.3%, Rural: 14.7% US Urban: 75.2%, Rural: 24.8% Not that this makes much difference in this discussion but interesting nonetheless. AirFrance airline security - metal cutlery and glass bottles
CornishChris replied to mr2mk1g's topic in Speakers Corner
Vive La France. You currently have knives taken off you at security and I have had my boots removed and screened. When someone stabs another person in the neck with a pencil will we only be allowed crayons on board the plane? What about someone getting garrotted with a shoe lace - only flip-flops on board? Soon the day will come when we are all naked on the planes and I, for one, look forward to that day. My tangent. CJP Gods don't kill people. People with Gods kill people -
Sure you can. Did you not read my post above. I can think of no reason why you can't compare them. Break it down into a per capita figure, as I did, and see that gun related murders are 100 times worse, per capita, in the US than Australia. Just because you don't like the results doesn't mean you CANT compare them. CJP Gods don't kill people. People with Gods kill people

That's cool. It makes sense to back up the argument. I am standing on neither side of this argument as I can do without trawling through another gun thread but it makes pretty interesting reading. CJP Gods don't kill people. People with Gods kill people

As he is not going to do any work... Populations year 2000: Au - c. 19,000,000 US - c. 275,000,000 Gun related deaths 2000: Au - 59 US - 10,159 per 100,000 Au - 0.03 US - 3.69 Sources: http://www.ssaa.org.au/homi2000.html http://crime.miningco.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/homicide/weapons.htm And others. I think the AU number looks a bit low but I can't find any others, although that said in 2002 there were 963 murders and a firearm was used in 13% so that makes around 125 in 02. (source on request) _______________________________________________ I think that shows that Australia have less tragic shootings than the US. Please feel free to disagree. CJP Gods don't kill people. How bizarre. I was thinking of posting almost exactly the same this morning as that happened to me on my last jump of the weekend. Really choppy opening so I grabbed the toggles and it sorted itself out. Looked up to see PC wrapped around one of the brake lines. It was square, it flared but I still weighed up the options. Decided that I would not trade a landable canopy for an unkown and took it in fine although very steadily and landed way away from all others. Still scared me a bit but was pleased with my choice. Asked a few people at the DZ and they said I made the right decisions so all good. Still not sure exactly how it happened but hey... CJP Gods don't kill people. People with Gods kill people

I did five jumps on that day and had hesitation on 3 and 5. Before that I jumped the previous Sunday and Monday. I will look at the 2nd flap issue as I do recall stowing more bridle than usual on one pack job that day, although not sure which one, and I will have a rigger look at the rig oer the weekend. Thanks for all of the useful input. CJP Gods don't kill people. People with Gods kill people

Good point Dave. My answer would be "because it has never happened before..." but quite frankly that is bollocks. i will have a rigger look at it. I could do without blemishing my cutaway record. blue ones. CJP Gods don't kill people. People with Gods kill people

I don't think it is a weak throw as it is the same as I have always done and it has never happened before. Also I give it a good chuck out. The PC is a few years old but in good condition. If it happens again next weekend i may get my rigger to have a look at it... CJP Gods don't kill people. People with Gods kill people

I have probably done around 60 jumps on my Icarus beta 170 and have never had a pilot chute hesitation and yesterday I had two. Both times I was surprised by the delay in my 'normal' opening times - which as you know is pretty much set in your mind so any delay becomes obvious without counting. Whilst this is not a huge concern I was interested to know why this has started happening. My PC is cocked. I am packing the same way but twice yesterday I chucked out and nothing happend until I looked over my shoulder to see what was going on. Once I could let go, but for it to happen twice in one day was a bit wierd. Thoughts on this? CJP Gods don't kill people. People with Gods kill people

It depends who is responsible for bringing the student in (IMHO). In Sydney there is a deicated TA for the students who talks them down from the centre of the student landing area so it does not matter if the "air instructor" swoops. If there is not someone else dedicated then i would assume that for the instructor his jump is not finished until his student is safekly down and he/she should be in the best place to watch that. As a point of interest in Australia it is 100 jumps (C License) to jump with a camera. Several of my friends in the 100-200 jump range jump camera. I do not as yet but plan to reasonably soon. Probably arouind the 200 mark. CJP Gods don't kill people. People with Gods kill people

UK...BPA propose manditory AADs on all jumpers below B licence
CornishChris replied to gerrcoin's topic in Gear and Rigging
At what % does it become a useful mandate? What would the % you quoted have been without AADs? Did you know that 63% of statistics are made up on the spot? I think this is a good thing - I am currently in Australia where AADs are compulsary to D license. CJP Gods don't kill people. People with Gods kill people
