I just heard...one of my friends backed her bigass ford POS truck into the front end of my dads 2 yo Chevy S-10 low-rider, which WAS in immaculate condition. The real bitch is that we're trying to sell it...for 16K. I have a real good feeling that's not happening. And my dad's in a REALLY tight situation and he NEEDS to sell this truck to get us out. He was nearly in tears on the phone and I guess he vomitted...anyone care to send us some vibes????

I saw your poll, works fine

You guys, it was a question. That's all. A question. So quit criticizing him on it. He was just wondering, and it was a valid question. I am so sick of reading all these posts about how stupid someone is or how dumb of a question is was that they asked. The fact is CrazyIvan's question has already been answered, and it has already been established that the reserve is the last resort and that CrazyIvan knows this. Any other replies to this thread, unless they are an important and valid addition to the thread, are irrelavent. So please, if you have a valid comment, make your statement. Otherwise you need not post. Thank you CrazyIvan for asking the question. The fact is I was wondering the same thing (how would you go about doing an intentional cutaway to be precise) and now I know. Keep asking questions and just ignore the people that criticize you on them, it just shows you how small a person can really be. Blue Skys

Good movie, but no. This came out before I was born (in 84) when computers could only fit giant office buildings.

I just started thinking about where I came up with the nick name "Casch". I use it for everything, counter-strike, e-mail, nicks on just about everything. I got it from a movie I saw when I was little. It was about this security system of a highrise office building called CASCH, that was "Artificially Intelligent". This new employee starts breaking a few rules and the computer targets him as a threat and starts doing things to kill him (i.e. locking the sauna door and cranking up the heat, screwing with the elevators and such). I can't remember what CASCH stands for, something about computer automated security...Does anyone know the name of the movie???

For me: Friends, Family, and Jumping, in that order.

I played in school band from 5th grade to 10th grade. I primarily played the Tuba, and I think I got 2nd or 3rd in state on solo's. I also learned to play the Trombone, Baritone, Piano, Trumpet (and coronet, nearly the same instrument), a little french horn, the list goes on. I was never better than beginner/intermediate with any instrument but the Tuba. I quit when we were forced to do the whole marching thing. Not for lack of ability or desire, but because no one in the band took anything seriously and we always placed next to last in any parade.

It's sorta scary how accurate this is...except: 1. I'm not a charmer 2. I'm not usually welcome anywhere 3. I'm intelligent and hardworking when I care about the project, but I'm not quick-witted. 4. I'm ambitious, but not big on possesions (although that changed soon after my skydiving career began) The Rat Ranking order : First Hours ruled by the Rat : 11pm - 1am Direction of its sign : directly North Season and principal month : winter, December Corresponds to Western sign : Sagittarius Lucky stone: carbuncle Fixed Element : water Stem : Yin (Positive) Greatest Affinity : Dragon, Monkey Greatest Enmity : Horse A bit of a charmer, the rat is usually welcome anywhere; however, generally has few close friends. The rat is intelligent, quick-witted and hardworking. Somewhat ambitious, with a tendency to be frivolous with material possessions. The rat is strongly family oriented, enjoys thrills but is easily bored. A little insecure and can lack boldness. The rat is an opportunist who lives for the moment and rarely plans for the future. All rats have a propensity for aggression; however, this is seldom expressed physically, but rather in fretting over details and being overly concerned about trivialities. Although the rat was first to arrive at the Buddha's door, it was through running up the ox's tail (who arrived first because of its great strength) and over its back, thereby the rat pipped the ox to the post! According to legend, the ox has yet to forgive the rat. There is also another legend involving the rat, and the "13th animal", the cat.

OMG!!! How did Clay get the December slot???

I don't have a PS2 so I play it at a friends house. Every time I get in my car and head home after playing..I seem to drive a lot faster....

Ouch...that's not a very good confidence builder. Hey, coulda been a pilot error
-
It's still not clear what exactly happened. But the consensus was that a packer error caused a guys hard-opening. It was such a hard opening that on the ground it sounded like thunder! It actually blew open 3 full cells and he chopped. He wasn't happy with the packer at all
-
holy crap, $89 to get to Phoenix...why did you have to say that...
-
I would look ahead of me, the only thing is that the wind direction usually forces me to land in a direction where the ground in front of me is higher than the ground below me.
-
holy shiat! A half hour jump!!! That would kick ass!!!. Think of how many points you could turn
-
I didn't have any of these problems. Actually people offered to teach me to pack, and random people were always looking over my shoulder to lend a hand. No one asked for money and they all seemed more than happy to help a student out. In fact from time to time my DZO will give me a tip. We have to flat pack the student chutes and half the time some random person will come over and help me flake the canopy (it takes some long arms to flake those skymaster 290's) I only have 21 jumps, but I have jumped about 11 of my own pack jobs.

Hey how's it goin! Glad to see another Portlander posting! This weather really sucks...I have checked the weather for 7 DZ's all within 5 hours of here...all have bad weather on the weekend GRRR. Welcome to the forums

Yeah and this guy Vic, what an ass. He thinks he's all that now that #8's gone. But damn, he's got a fine gf

THANK YOU! I can't stand how people always walk so slow, and don't get out of your way!! I'm overweight, 245lbs at 5'8" so you would think I would be another one of those annoying people, but I walk twice as fast as everyone else and it absolutley drives me crazy when people give me no way around them and refuse to pick up the pace (my HS is WAY overcrowded...damn freshman). I'm not afraid of spiders or anything, I just hate them. I'm not real squeamish around them...I would just rather stay on the other side of the room. We respect eachother's space. I think this started when I lived in the basement of my mom's house (fully furnished don't worry. I wasn't getting my daily water from a leak in the pipes ) and the house was always full of spiders. There would often times be a spider in the shower...I hate that. I love to swim, but I hate the thought of drowning. It scares the crap out of me. I need to breathe...it's sort of important to me. Breathing is something I've grown quite accustomed to and it would piss me off if the 02 wasn't there!

I have checked the weather for: Washington ------------- Blue Skies Skydive Toledo Skydive Yakima West Plains Skydiving Center (Crabtree Skydiving school) Oregon ------------- Eugene Skydivers Skydive Oregon Central Oregon Sky Sports Every DZ will most likely get rained on this weekend Maybe if you give the mechanic some...initiative...you could get in the air sooner...unfortunately the weather gods won't be swayed by any of my lewd acts. And with my luck they are probably male anyways... I am moving to the south as soon as possible!

I haven't been able to jump since the 20th of october. And even then they were hop-n-pops because the weather sucked all weekend. I haven't had any real air since the 5th of october! If I don't get in the air before the 20th then I have to go back on the ROPE!!!! I hate the rope...I despise it. I completely understand why I would have to go back an re-prove that I am capable of pulling, but I don't wanna go!!!!! I know, better safe than sorry, safety first and all. I am just whining. I know I will pull. I have been a very good student, good with stability, I have an excellent arch (the DZO jumped with me to evaluate and said it looked very good and stable...and I was arching so hard that she couldn't keep up with me). I have been thinking about skydiving non-stop since my first jump in August. I have been going through jumps in my mind over and over and over. I dream about jumping every night. On the way too and from Spokane, WA over the weekend I was constantly rolling down the window, putting on my altimeter and helmet, and hanging half way out the window going 85-90 mph (NOT SAFE), going through my Grad jump. I have 0 anxiety towards jumping. I am very safety oriented of course, but I am not the least bit afraid of going out that door. I LOVE THIS SHIT! I am getting irritable, and I nearly start to drool when I see all these pics of people having all that fun at these boogies. And I've looped my 200 skydiving movie clips in WinAmp. The weather is not cooperating with my schedule at ALL!!! And I live 3 hours away from the DZ so I can't just drive out there after school. The only time I can make it is on the weekends and they are not being kind to me (weekends that is). If anyone knows of a DZ within 4 hours of Portland, OR that has good weather on Sunday PLEASE let me know! I need altitude... Sorry about the book...I just needed to relieve some serious stress.
