LOL - things aren't quite as they seem. You could try and contact #420 if you wan't. But he didn't do it

Thanks, I think I'll do just that. If that doesn't work, I think I'll have to go kill a kitten to relieve stress....GRRRR

I've seen several reserve rides, but the first time I saw a tandem reserve ride was about a month ago. I guess there was a high tension knot in the lines, they cut it away and landed under a beautiful reserve. The passenger had video done too I didn't get to see it, but it would be interesting. The main was found hours later in a cart at the local golf course

I get something like the "Heebie Jeebies" when I talk about skydiving. Except it's not really fear or anxiety. It's excitement! I've had someone ask me if I'm having seizures! It's so funny You obviously love to jump, you've spend the money for 9 jumps and that ain't cheap. And you're asking for advice here to help you make another jump. So, go do it! You'll be fine. If a tandem will make you feel better, ease your fears or anxiety, do it! Then you'll wonder what all this was about
-
Don't feel intimidated or pressured or anything, there's no need to. You've only done 1 jump! Who knows, you might blow him away! With 1 jump it's absolutly impossible to tell how good you are or what your potential is. IMPOSSIBLE! All you can be sure of at this point is that you WILL pass AFF, you passed the first level no problem! There have been people who TOTALLY flunked AFF1, as in; de-arched spinning and flipping about with no control. And a few of them continued and are now some of the best skydivers around. Don't worry, you'll be GREAT

I would be interested in learning if the "Relax" mantra should also be applied to the use of booties. I haven't yet reached the point where I feel I need to experiment with them, but it will be nice to "know" beforehand.

heh, that could have been messy Think of it in the Hawks point of view...that would be like walking through a park and then all of a sudden a Mack truck falls out of nowhere and almost lands on you...I think that Hawk might need some therapy, good goin'

WHAT THE HELL IS FRIED ICECREAM! Seriously, you can fry that stuff, that's insane. I wana try

OMG that was the best (read: funniest) version of an AFF course...hehe spank u berry much

Alright so I have this Ti-4600 and I was able to get my Grad Jump from VHS to my computer several months ago. I'm trying to transfer some new stuff and for some reason, my computer isn't detecting the Video In port. Vid out works though. I have all the updated drivers and such....this is really bugging me. Any ideas?
-
NFW! That would be something to see, if you can dig that vid up, you gotta post it. Until then, I don't believe you
-
LOL! You know you could always test it by pushing that nifty little lever that the door presses when you shut it. Although, when you want first hand info, you gotta do what you gotta do
-
um...hate to tell you but there's a light in my freezer and I've never had a problem with it

You really have nothing to worry about. I mean think about it! You jumped out of an airplane with a couple of crazy people and you had the wits about you to complete a few of the tasks you were assigned. And you got to the ground unscathed. In my book that makes for a perfect first jump. I did static-line and for the first 10 or so jumps, I really couldn't remember much about the exit... And I had nothing to do during those jumps except for PULL on the later ones. On my first 5 second delay, I actually did 2 back loops before pulling, right off the step. I never knew it until my JM told me on the ground. hehe...I passed that jump too Anyway what I'm trying to say is you did great and in time, you will become much more aware of your surroundings...and you'll be able to tell the difference between your handle and your JM's altimeter Blue skies and happy landings

And the moral of the story, "You break it, you buy it" ok that was dumb. Anyway, funny story, poor guy

The jump before last was on completely different gear than what I was trained on. I did a couple visiting jumps at a different DZ. The rip-cord was on the right MLW about where a cut-away handle would be. This was an SOS system though which is what I was trained with. Anywho, the handle came loose in freefall as it was only held there by a rubber band...which was not in use. To be sure that I would reach for the handle in the right place when it came time, I did a practice rip-cord pull. I even reached in the right spot. The handle wasn't there. I was at 10K when I realised this so I had plenty of time to figure things out. I looked for about 3 or 4 seconds before I found the handle by my neck. I held onto it for the duration of the freefall and pulled at 4K no problem... Now that I think of it, this has absolutly nothing to do with this thread, really...hmmm. Goodnight

I think it would be just awesome to learn to fly 'em. Too bad that takes money though
-
No kiddin, you could practically manipulate the rudder manually from the pilots seat
-
I'm wondering how hard it truely is to fly one of those bad motha's Right hand is engine power, left hand is for lateral movement, and left and right pedels to alter the angle of attack for the tail rotor providing left and right turn...hmmm. I think I could get the hang of it. I would probably kill myself in the process...but damn I do pretty good in the flight sims
-
OMG I can't believe you just said that! On my bike! oooh you're lucky you're hiding behind a computer screen, I'd...I'd...well we'll just have to find out if I meet you eh? We'll see if I ever open any doors for you!
-
Ok...that isn't funny. It's FREAKIN GREAT! I love it! oh um...how'd I get in this room, jeeze...sorry...
-
Uh, yeah never mind people...Cajones answered my question already. I'm "Ambi-eyed" or the equivelant of ambidextrious but with my eyes...carazy!
-
MMMM Thank you! I thought that might be the case, but NO ONE! Not even my physics teacher has ever heard of this. It's been driving me nuts. I believe my Physics teach even said that EVERYONE has a dominant eye...I was like...b..but...wait somethings weird...which finger do I point at the object with. he's like...what?
-
Alright this is buggin' me. I have been trying to find out which eye is dominant. The following instructions are what I followed to figure it out. Find a distant object, focus on that object and point at it, like you're aiming a gun. Now, close one eye. If the image seems to move from the target, then the eye you closed is the dominant eye. If you are still pointing at the object with the one eye closed, then the open eye is the dominant one. Ok here's the problem. When I "take aim" and I am focusing on the distant image with the image of my pointing hand in peripheral vision, there are 2 images of my hand. I tend to aim with the image on the left which is seen by my right eye. But so far, no one else see's two images of their hand. What I see when I focus on the distant object with my hand "in the frame", is the clear distant object. And two semi transparent images of my hand. Neither image is more opaque or solid than the other. They are slightly out of focus (i.e. blurry) but there are TWO!!! Is this normal or am I some kind of freaky mutant!?!@?!
-
Do you think it's possible that I just don't have a dominant eye. When you think about it, a person with a dominant eye, will only see percieve the image recieved by the dominant eye. So when they close that dominant eye while pointing at a distant object, the "hiddin" image that they could not see before is revealed. In my case, I can already see both images of my hand pointing, at the same time. Therefore there is no "Dominant" eye. I think I tend to aim with the image on the left which is seen by my right eye...but..ARRGG! Is anyone here an optometrist?!
