  1. OMG!!!! You have NO Fuggin' idea how much grief and $$$$ you just saved me! I only drained the front end of the pan and got barely a quart out of it. I was like CRIMINY! I've been driving around with a quart and a half of oil in my engine! And I poured in 4 quarts and thought I was done. If you hadn't posted about there being two drain plugs...I could have blown the engine or some shit... If we ever meet, I owe you a case! [B] THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Oh by the way my dad says "Thank you! And this is why I drive a CHEVY!"
  2. Just got off the phone with Auto Zone and they said it should be just short of 5 quarts
  3. Yeah...um...no owners manual
  4. Yeah the thing about that is, there was a HALF QUART in the engine when I drained it...but the dip stick read NORMAL....god damnit.
  5. Nah, I need Capacity not Viscosity

    We made it!

So your next trip is to Portland, OR right? RIGHT?!?! Ok, well I guess that might take a little while to plan, so I guess I'll have to go to NY this summer. Maybe we can make a few jumps when you're through with AFF. You'll have to wear a lot of weight...or go headdown to keep up with me though
  7. Ok, I'm doin' an oil change. I need to know what the oil capacity is for a 1984 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L H.O. Any takers? I need some help please

So...whaddaya all think of my little icon thingie (I forgot the actual name for it...doesn't it start with a "P") I thought it looked pretty bad ass, needs a bit more contrast though. Not too bad for MS Paint and MS Imaging...

I am most definately updating my web page soon. http://www.geocities.com/Casch07
  10. I've only been to 2 DZ's but I have the impression that the majority of DZ's don't teach you much about emergency canopy maneuvering especially flat turns, unless you specifically ask. And most students aren't going to even know to ask. I really think that DZ's should recommend opening an account here at DZ.com to help them along the way, it did miracles for me

Oh there is NO way I'd be able to remember words like that...here are some sources: http://members.aol.com/gulfhigh2/words11.html http://www.geocities.com/szczepanczyk/hippo.html Ok, so I guess I do have a bit of time on my hands, for even searching for those sites. Actually...at the moment I have the rest of my life.

I have MUCH better words...like: Aequeosalinocalcalinosetaceoaluminosocupreovitriolic or cholangiocholecystocholedochectomy or Pseudoantidisestablishmentarianism
  14. I agree that there should be MUCH more emphasis on canopy control, since the most injuries and deaths today are under canopy. I'm gonna try and take a canopy controll class this summer. Throughout my static-line progression there was no real emphasis on canopy flight. The biggist thing was FLARE. I've been taking ideas from here and applying them to my flights. I've learned next to nothing about flight at the DZ.

Yeah, most colleges seem to finish up pretty late compared to HS

...So now I can revel in my Postwhoredness! Look out
  17. I used to be a band nerd. I played the Tuba quite well for 6 years. I haven't played for 2 years now, but I bet I could still kick some ass wit' it
  18. Just a quick question. Is it possible to pull the front risers down too much? And possibly bring the canopy under you so that you could fall into it?
  19. Have you EVER had problems with your ears before? Think back, have they acted really funny before/after a cold, after a normal plane ride? Do you usually find it easy to equalize the pressure in your ears, or does it become painful before you can clear them? I had the EXACT same problem you're having. And even though I never felt the need to see the doctor about it, I'm 99.99% sure that it's completely normal. After a couple months of jumping, the pressure thing never really bothered me anymore. But before, I would have problems for up to a week after a jump. Every time I yawned, or chewed/swallowed or whatever, my ears would pop and everything would either sound slightly muffled or a little louder and clearer. I don't get this much, if at all, any more. I think it helps if you equalize the pressure in your ears on the way down under canopy by pinching your nose, closing your mouth and blowing. I'm sure however that after a few more jumps you'll be just fine
  20. Ummmm....who says car shopping is the "responsible" thing to do?

    Anxiety

Am I the only one that thinks skydiving is the most relaxing activity? After, hell even during a jump, it's soooo relaxing. None of my whuffo aquantances understand that...not that I expect them to. Jumping out of planes just seems like the thing to do, it doesn't seem strange, or scary, or make me nervous. It's a necessity. Sometimes I forget that a year ago, I had nearly the same mindset as the average whuffo.
  22. How many jumps do you have on the lineset?
  23. Thank you for posting that. Sometimes it seems that even the most experienced (especially the most experienced) often treat their rigs like something other than a life saving device. It makes me cringe to see people dropping, dragging, and tossing their rigs about. I may be a noob, but I don't treat my (rental) rig like a rugby ball
  24. WOW! Seriously?! All they charged you was $68? That IS a ridiculously low charge! I think they just picked up a future customer as well
