I know I need to pay, but I don't NEED to pay $300+, that's ridiculous...IMHO of course

-

I'll see about that. I still haven't even made it out to SDO...lol

I definately understand where your coming from, skydiving aint cheap especially for students! But, and as hard as it may sound, you just need to RELAX! People always perform better when they are more relaxed. And, each jump is a blast right? So who cares if you fail, your having fun and you'll get it when you get it. The biggest thing though is to just chill, it does wonders

Wow, 110 lbs in 8 months! That's really awesome! Tell him I say congrats! I'm not planning on dropping weight quite that fast, however I do want to drop as much as possible by december. After that I'm thinking 5 lbs a month or so. I do have a gym member ship, but psycologically I do better doing cardio outside where I'm actually going somewhere. And I already have enough muscle for now, so weight training is out for now. Once I get to 200 I'm going to start incorporating some circuit training and such.

I am most definately NOT doing the Atkins diet. Christ, you take a way my bread, what the hell else am I going to eat? Nah, I needs my bread, especially via sub sandwiches. Mmmmm tasty One of the big reasons I want to drop around 30lbs by christmas is I'm really looking forward to Eloy and I want to be able to make the most of it...if you know what I mean Anyhow, I know that it's most definately going to have to be a permanant life style change. And I think I'm finally ready to make that change. I've already ommited soda from my diet and I don't miss it at all. And I've been drinking a crapload of water which helps me take my mind of food entirely. I'm going to have to take some "Before" pictures soon so that I can say - "That was me a year ago!!!" yeah....anyway. Thanks for listening

Ok so right now, I admit it. I'm a fat ass. I just got off the scale and I'm 259lbs and only 5'9". That is down from 273lbs three weeks ago. I'm in a good groove with my diet and I'm pretty sure I can keep that up. I've decided I'm going to jog/walk (mostly walk) 30 minutes at least every other day with a friend of mine. Here's my question; do you think it's reasonable to try and lose 10 lbs per month for the next four months (at least)? I realise I need to make this a lifestyle change, not just a temporary thing. My ultimate goal is to get down to 180lbs. But I realise once I get down to the 200-210 range the rest of the way is going to be MUCH slower than the first 40 lbs or so. Anyway, whaddya think?

For some reason I got pelted with those anti-closing pop-ups...you know, the ones where every time you try and close it, it dissapears...yeah...it was weird. But the second attempt was fine

Casch Addict (Full Profile) Oct 7, 2002, 1:44 PM Post #1 of 19 (236 views) Copy Shortcut What should my first rig be? Quote | Reply -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey guys, I'm 17 and I just started skydiving in August and I'm on jump #11 on my static line progression and I am researching different gear choices for when I get my license. I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions as far as a first rig. I am 248lbl but declining and I have half way decided on what to get. Right now I want to get a new infinity container and a PD saber 2 260 main, not sure about reserve yet. If you guys have any ideas about where I can get my canopies for cheap and what canopies I should get as a newbie I'd appreciate it. Blue skies

It looks to my like that could have even ended up in a premature opening, the pin only looks to be 1/4 inch through the loop.

There are 300 lb skydivers out there, few and far between. How tall are you? How physically fit would you consider yourself? Do you think you could handle jumping off a 1 story roof? The most important thing to think about is this. Your going to be coming in fast for a first timer on landing. You need to be able to run it out if you have to. You also should learn and perfect your PLF before you go up. Most DZ's won't let you jump and you're going to have to be really flexible and be prepared for a lot of No's. I'm 250 myself and have a really hard time as far as gear goes. I don't know what your diet or physical activity consists of, but if you really want to jump you need to start eating healthy and start walking. If you only walk a mile a day, I can almost garuntee you will lose 15-20 lbs in the course of a month.

Just about a bad day on the dropzone

Wasn't Gimli the name of the airstrip that the drug runners landed at in Cutaway? -
At 44 jumps I made an off DZ landing. I minded the powerlines and made a stand-up landing in a nice soft field surrounded by forestry, and went home with out a scratch. I'm only a test away from my A license
