  1. My cat is really friggin cool, lovable, loves EVERYBODY. He'll kick your ass if you piss him off, but it's so hard to piss him off! I personally like bitchy cats, they have more of a personality and are more independant. And when they let you love them, you KNOW that they love you My best friends cat is an ASSHOLE!!! (PERSONAL ATTACK!) He wouldn't even let me touch him for over 5 years, finally in the last couple months, I can even pick him up and he doesn't tear me to shreds
  2. At Kapowsin during the spring and fall, the winds aren't very consistant. You might have a good 8-10 mph wind before take-off, but by the time you get to the ground you might not have anymore wind at all, or quite frequently it will change direction, I've seen it change 180 degrees. So yes, I've landed in all orientations to the wind. A few of them crosswinders were on purpose as I wanted to be closer to the hangar
  3. When I try this (and I promise it won't be until I have a solid sense of control with risers, and I'll be notifying the DZO also) it will probably be on a Skymaster 290 loaded at .93-.95 and definately on a breezy day. I'm really suprised more people haven't landed rear risers for practice, I've wanted to for about a dozen jumps or so.

No I think they'd probably confiscate your rig since you would be likely to escape by opening it in your cell and going up through the roof
  5. That visor may grab some air in FF too, I don't know if I'd trust it to stay in place
  6. Once you're comfortable with them at altitude, would it be smart to land with rear risers as practice? I mean, practicing at altitude for 200 jumps never actually landing with them, and then choosing to land with them for the first time because of a broken line would be like learning to fly with a really good simulator and then being thrown into a real plane and being expected to fly well. So what do you think the requirements should be before you can attempt a RR landing?

Yeah, I'm a youngin' and no I don't exactly know what it was like "back in the day", but I do know things have improved FANSTASTICALLY, but the fact is, it could be better. Why settle at "good enough"? The average person doesn't need a gas guzzling TANK (a.k.a. an SUV) when there are much more fuel efficient vehicles around. This said, I'm driving a 1984 Mustang GT Convertable with a 5.0L V8 that gets 8 miles to the gallon. BUT, I would NEVER buy a brand new car or even a slightly used car, that isn't fuel efficient. In fact, I didn't buy the car I'm driving now, I'm borrowing it until I get a new engine in my grand am, which will get 32 miles to the gallon.
  8. Are ya tryin' to confuse the man! I think ya got it backwards, the more surface area you have, the slower you will fall. That is to say, if a 5'9" 250lb guy (i.e. ME) and a 6'6" 250lb guy both hold the same body position, the taller guy will generally fall slower or "Float". Other ways to change your fallrate are; cup air with your body, sorta like you're hugging a beach ball. This presents more surface area to the wind, and creates more drag and you will slow down, if you arch really hard, or go into a sit/head down/standing freefall, you will fall much faster

That is REALLY a bummer...what a dick. I would base your decision on new wheels on fuel economy. We really DON'T need all the power that is being offered today. Honestly what is it good for? Getting you pulled over is what it's good for! If insurance will cover it, or most of it, try to get a hybrid car, or something with EXCELLENT milage and emissions. If we keep spitting pollution into the atmosphere, we won't be able to fall through it anymore without a bunnysuit!
  10. Alright I'm taking a Business Management class where we learn mostly Accounting, but also some marketing and general business information, along with some economics. My teach said he would set me up with an Accounting Internship with a local tax firm, but that was 3 months ago. He said he's still waiting for information. I can't wait much longer as school is coming to an end, and I need to get out of my crappy job at the movie store and into something with a possible future. I'm NOT going to college, at least not now. I can't hardly handle HS, so it would be pointless to go flunk out of a 4 year institution. I will probably take some more business related classes at a Com. College. At this point I am seriously thinking about becoming a CPA. I'm wondering if any of you know of an Accounting or Management Paid Internship that I would meet the critera for? I really need to get out of this place, make a few bucks, and form a path for the rest of my life. Any takers?
  11. My ferret is pretty tame unless you are wearing shorts. She'll sneak up on you, latch on a leg hair with her teeth..AAAAOOOOWWWW!!!!!
  12. Bump - Please help out if you can
  13. Ok here's the deal. I got ripped off on my senior project assignment. The due date has been changed to TOMORROW! Thursday the 7th. In order for me to turn this in, as a formality, it needs to be proof read by 2 more people and they are supposed to sign this stupid form saying that they read it and discussed it with me. Well, what would help me out SOOOOOOO much is if a couple people here could read the paper and then somehow send me your signiture so I can place it on the forms when I get them. I would guess the easiest way to send it is to scan it as a jpeg and e-mail it to Josh AT Compu-Medics DOT com Now if you don't want to read it, but feel like contributing to my cause, I will not argue if you just want to send the signiture. Now I understand how someone might feel a bit uneasy just sending some stranger their signiture, unattached to any forms...ok... I SWEAR ON: The Holy Bible, Buddha, Allah, Mother Nature, My Mothers Grave (some day), That six armed elephant thing, The Jolly Green Giant, BOOBIES, My Left Testicle and his slightly larger brother, My eyebrows, and DZ.COM I WILL NOT USE YOUR SIGNITURE ON ANY FORM other than the form stating that you have read my paper and have discussed it with me. I appreciate any input on this paper, and more importantly I appreciate any signitures recieved. Once it has been applied to the previously described form, I will be deleting it from my computer with that special software crap that completely erases any trace of it from the HDD. Thank you in advance for your help, I really appreciate it! RRRFinal.doc
  14. Well at least you wont have to wait too long, I hear VSE is very quick with their orders
  15. Skate-boarding CAN be a little extreme, but OMG Moto-X is crazy! How the hell do you PRACTICE doing a flip with a dirtbike? Really? Please tell me! How do they NOT kill themselves?
  16. I'm now watching Dropzone again...
  17. Has anyone attemted a high altitude clear and pull? I'm sure it's been done, I'd love to hear about it. I just thought about it today and I'm like...I WANNA DO IT!!! I know you'd have to have a bail out bottle until you got to the proper altitude...but this sounds like great fun to me...
  18. Well you would think with todays youth (...me included), it would pay to have a station featuring extreme sports. It could be like an extreme sports discovery channel. And it would make for EXCELLENT mainstream advertising so lack of funding support isn't an issue...and there are ways to integrate hotties into the programming, that is if the average person isn't excited by the sight of an obviously superior skychicks. In my opinion, any skychick is better than a whuffo. ok... a bit off topic there eh? Anyway...I think it's perfectly feasible to have a station like this...anyone want to help me start it? hehe
  19. I believe you're right, if in high winds you should plan on PLF'ing and as soon as you are safely on the ground, do a hard toggle turn to try and collaps the canopy if it's still in the air above you, or you can pull on the front risers. Once it's on the ground, run to it. If the winds pick up and they're dragging you across the field towards any dangerous obstacles (i.e. a busy road ) I think your best bet is to cut it away. Better to have to chase it down than to have it drag you into traffic. But all this is easily avoidable with good judgement and even better self control.
  20. I really wish someone would start a TV station with nothing but extreme sports. By extreme, I mean anything you won't hear about on "Sports Watch" or some other lame sports coverage show. I absolutly despise football, baseball, soccer, hockey, basketball...basically any conventional sports. What I want to see is coverage on Skiing/snowboarding races/championships, coverage on all aspects of skydiving, BASE, basically anything "Out of the ordinary" for the average person. Any heartless media execs here on the forums?
  21. I heard that stuff was originally developed for NASA or something? I wouldn't be suprised if the guy was full of crap, but I also wouldn't be suprised if he was right! That stuff could bond my car to a brick wall!
  22. Yeah that's what BoobieCootie did LOL, I kid man, I kid
  23. And I think I finally know what it's about, or rather who. See pictures below. And I think Bronze Angel is Concrete Angel's sister.
