My home DZ is 3 hours and 15 minutes away. The closest DZ is 45 minutes. The only reason I ever even visited Kapowsin is because it was the first DZ I found within reasonable distance that allows minors to jump with parental consent. The next closest is Skydive Eugene, but I didn't know that until I was half way through my progression. I stayed with Kapowsin 'cause it feels like home to me.

Oh lol, I meant work with the owner of the Signage place I worked for. Although starting a new branch sounds pretty cool hmmmmmm

I heard it as "A good friend will come bail you out of jail. A true friend will be sitting right next to you saying 'THAT WAS FU#$%^@ AWESOME!'"...hehe...yeah

That's pretty bitchen. When I was 15 I worked for a Vinyl Signage company. I did the graphic design and editing, along with actual production of the signs. Pretty fun stuff, I wish I could get back into it. I bet I could work with the owner and get some pretty good prices and open up my own little shop for these

AAARRRRGGG!!!! Ok so they're sponsored. Maybe then the sponsor will pay for the funerals of those two, because at this rate, it WILL happen. I just hope they don't burn an object for someone else.

Does anyone know? Used to be http://www.skydivenet.com/Kapowsin but the site's been down for a couple weeks, probably more like a month. Does anyone know if they've changed hosts or did they just stop maintaining the site?

I don't know if it's just me, but when I try to test my dominant eye by pointing at a distant object and closing one eye or the other, When I aim for the object, I see two semi transparent images of my hand when I'm focusing on the distant object. Neither one is more opaque than the other. So When I aim, I sort of put the target in between the images and it usually works just fine...but these tests don't seem to work for me

Q. How did you get into skydiving? A. I have wanted to skydive since I was a kid, movies and skydiving events triggered this. I had never known anyone that skydived when I started. One day I just went to the dropzone and my mom and I both made a jump. I did static-line and progressed through that course. Q. How long have you been doing it? A. I've been skydiving since August 10th, 2002, so just over 9 months. I have only 37 jumps as I'm a Senior in High School with a part-time job and I have payed for all but maybe 4 or 5 jumps. Q. Why do you love/hate skydiving? A. Well if anyone here hated skydiving, I doubt they would be here. I LOVE skydiving because...um...crap. It's really really really fun! That's about it! It is a completely different experience, and introduces a world I could never live in before. I can easily turn on all axis. I can do crazy flips and barrel rolls and I can fly forward, backward. Side to side. I am no longer living in a comparativly 2D world, I have a 4D environment. Height, width, depth and time. I absolutly love the feeling of flight, there is nothing like it. And the feeling of personal achievement I get from every jump. I just jumped out of an airplane, did some flips and turns and landed a RAM air canopy. All by myself. 6 times in a row in a day...sweeeeeet...let's do it again tomorrow

Me thinks being cut isn't all bad

I'm also here in Oregon, and I WANT TO PUMP MY OWN GAS! I don't need some little bastage making money for pumping my gas! It's not a hard thing to do and I would at least like the option as I know there are people that honestly can't pump gas, and even more people that have NEVER done it before...so sad...I always love taking trips into WA 'cause gas is cheaper and I can pump it myself...I miss that.

Lineovers have been discussed here on the forums quite a bit, you could probably find a multitude of threads with more information than you could fathom...BUT I'll relay a bit from what I've learned. During a lineover malfunction you are still going relativly fast and people more experience than you could imagine have not been able to actually cut the offending line(s) causing the malfunction with a hook knife. It IS possible to flare, pump the brakes and occasionally the line will "fall off" the canopy into place. But at our experience levels, cuting away is the only alternative. Do NOT try and fix it. You did VERY well my friend, VERY well. Lineovers are probably in 2nd or 3rd place among canopy mals. First place goes to spinning linetwists. I've read more spinning linetwist stories than I can remember. Second place I would either give to lineovers or step-throughs. So lineovers are neither common nor uncommon among canopy malfunctions, they're warm like baby bears pooridge WARNING, A MEASLY 37 JUMP NOOB I AM. THIS IS MEARLY MY OPIONION ON THE SUBJECT AND I AM BY NO MEANS AN EXPERT[/B]

Ok, not that I have any money to spend on travelling at the time being, but I have to know. Are travel agents of any use today? Can I really get a better deal if I go down the street and have someone else plan my trip? How much does it cost to utilize such a source?

I wonder if it would be wise to have a "Safety Day" every few months instead of once a year. I know everyday should be safety day, but having the seminars regularly to correspond with hightened participation at specific times of the year in certain colder climates might help the fatality situation. Just a thought...

I have packed for about 30 out of my 37 jumps so far. I actually like to pack...of course I'm not coercing a ZP-Slippier-than-snot-on-a-brass-doornob into a tiny little bag. Still on F11 student gear for me.

Anyone want to try something out? Search for Videos in Kazaa with the keyword "Skydive" I took a bunch of vids and shared them. Lemme know if you find any. Basically if you find anything other than the nude skydive clip, it worked

She also said nut. Beaver...and nut...teehee

Wow...I just realised I'm doing exactly what they do. I'm talking about them behind their backs. DAMNIT! Whadda I do now? grrrrrrr

I know, I'm just being...angry. It just bothers me sooooo much the way he is treated and the way I am being discussed behind my back.

About being sucked into the world of Skydiving? Or the fact that his parents suck and he'll be moving in with me when he's 18? At first he didn't want to go skydiving, he thought I was crazy, but accepted me anyway. Now he has seen how much fun I'm having and he wants in on it. And he's pissed that his parents won't sign the waiver. He feels exactly how I do about his parental situation, if not worse. He is the one that brings this stuff up so he can have someone to bitch at, so we bitch together...I'm pretty sure we're on the same page.

Holy Mother of God; you had to dig through all of that to find 3, THREE good e-mails...dayum! I would have just deleted them all
-
Oh I already plan to, we're going the day he turns 18. Oh, and hopefully that will also be the day he moves in with me. When I'm done with him he'll be an independant, self-sufficient, respectful, level headed, Out-of-the-box thinking, skydiving, BROTHA! hehe, most of this he already is, but I will be weaning him from the grasp of his parents...those people...they don't deserve him, he's MY friend!

I know that part, I just think it's hilarious that I got spam asking me if I'm tired of spam...
-
I'd go Fa for some of that hot action!

I just got a SPAM e-mail titled "*****SPAM***** Casch, sick of spam? " hehe, just thought I'd share, it brought a barely noticable smirk upon my face, for a brief moment...before I got angry that I'm getting SPAM. I hate SPAM...It's not Ham, and it's not..well..hell I need to go to bed
