actions like this hurt everyone, i have no idea what should be done in situations like this but we should all remember one thing. it's a golden rule. Leave things in life just a little bit better than how you found them. including the communities that you belong to. ~chachi

Keeping hush hush on incidents/crashes
chachi replied to Vallerina's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Ummm....how often is it a flamefest????? That's a bit of an exaggeration. ever read in the incident forum? even when people come forward and try to tell the incident they get flamed all of the time. and people just won't let things go. no, it's not an exaggeration. ~chachi -
Excuse me, what happened to having fun?
chachi replied to hottamaly's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
a clear set of requirements on your website would be a great start. you shouldn't have to give to every boogie but how nice is it when you are at one and people get little things. people ask, because people give. ~chachi -
post your mean wing swoop maction
chachi replied to acrojunky's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
you sound even smarter than the guy with a velo 80 and 20lbs. of lead. you should find out if he is going to walk again from JP. if he is, i think you may be ok to jump this with your massive experience. fuck dude, think about it. you think we're just trying to keep you under a thumb or something? ask the guys with 5000 jumps on the PST what they jumped at 600. ~chachi -
nice job- you definately have the idea for the actual exit. Brian Roger's taught me to feel think about feeling the rivets of the plane with my right hand sliding all of the way down into your little slice of air. Good to see more girls out there shooting camera, especially ones that jump such nice canopies.

just like that loser Jose I also had my first pond swooping this weekend at SDO. we started the comp with no expectations but it turned out to be so fun. after the comp, (wet twice after making the gates and coming up 35 ft short and and an over fly) the rest of the day was all about making it. I set up perfectly, had a long 180 carve, tons of speed, and tapped the rears and made the gates 60 ft back, the 200+ ft pond, and then popped ever so slightly over the lip to land 20ft past. WOW, what a feeling. Thanks to the SDO crew, and the KPOW crew for having a great event this weekend. ~chachi

We should all realize that when people host a boogie they take a huge risk. What if it rains? What if ...., also, people are in business to make money, why do we think dropzones should be different. If someone was gouging, I'm sure it would be a poorly attended boogie based on proposed charges. ~Chachi

Any DZ.commers going to be there for the boogie? ~Chachi

Anyone know anything about this camera. It is a 3 chip, having the same resolution on the chips as the Sony for 3 times the price. Am I missing something? I was trying to check this out before a friend (non-skydiver) of mine bought it and couldn't find anything bad about it but thought the eagle eyes of the DZ.com video crew may know something. Would this be a great quality home video option? ~Chachi

Thanks, I really appreciate it, I am just looking to get some competition experience flying for a team. I think it would really be fun and challenging. Anyway, again thank you. ~Chachi

Actually i was talking about US nationals. I was not aware that teh camera guy had to be from US. ~Chachi

I disagree, if you bought a rebel digital you can a) educate the people and tell them any place will print the cd you give them actually cheaper than processing film and b) you can show all the people that didn't want stills the perfect pictures that you just shot of them and see it to them after the fact. I think you do yourself a disservice buying a film camera but it's up to you. I do not know one single advantage of buying film. ~Chachi

Not only could I help you find it but I may be able to teach you a new trick or two in using it.... ~Chachi

Need someone to kiss it better for you? ~Chachi

I actually have no problem giving your friends pictures, you can do whatever you want. What I am talking about is any client type situation. If you give a tandem your pictures for free you devalue that service at your dz. If you give a magazine a picture for free, you continue to support it and they don't want to pay for it. We are already in that situation when even skydivers come to this board and ask for images for a magazine for photo credit. I just have a policy, unless it is my friend I never give it away, at least charge something, your cost? whatever. Just try and not contribute to this problem. This stuff happens to even regular photographers all the time, we being even more specialized should be chaging. ~Chachi
