good question. the theory is that the rsl bridle could cause the risers to rap around the reserve canopy if you have to cut away the reserve, if you have a down plane, my solution to this is one drill regardles of the type of malfunction, your drill should be the same pull both handles this will save you having to think to much (works for me) during a stressfull situation, remember to sit wityh one of your local instructors and rigger who can explain the mechanics of the parachute this wil help you and you can get a more indepth answere to your questions. blue skies life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.

well there you have it argument settled kind of. the conclusion is that some times things are pushed when its a 50 50 call, but thats natural, dzo,s are not mony grabers out for a fast buck they just want to provide a service and earn a living, and i think we have to respect that, it seems the number one concern out there is aircraft maintenance, followed by gear maintenance. the to most expensive aspects of the sport. blue skies and respect to all dzos who provide for us to skydive life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.

Has any TM ever taken a paraplegic on a tandem before?
skydiverjerry replied to TALONSKY's topic in Instructors
ok paraplegics can skydive with doctors consent, somthing to remember, then find an experienced dz near youy, be specifice on what you need what they have and plan safly, double up your safety and find a realy good ti (i have about 100 with them ) o and brief the support team well! i dont strap legs to my legs as i need my legs to land then its ok for your friend to skydive! just my thoughts life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!. -
i keep it simple, "dont grab my hands! if you die i am going to bite your hand of, or this is the right hand of god, up there i am god dont touch them so god can save you" then i make sure my hands are never in a possition to be grabbed. life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.

in my humble oppinion not nowing you and please dont take this wrong, being an instructor must be done for the right rason and just to avoid paying of a bet or just to make a point is the wrong one. you are going to commit to somthing and i am going to say it in caps noy to shout! AN INSTRUCTORS FIRST AND FORMOST RESPONICIBILITY IT TO THE SAFETY AND SECURITY OF THESTUDENT! thats a big comitment, now do you want to instruct just to say you are an instructor or because in ten five or whatever you can help improve the sport and return the commitment and pay back what others gave or give you from the sport? if honestly within your hart you want to do it for THE RIGHT REASON read upon the requirments then go for it, there are no limits to skydiving, only rules. like pull before you hit the ground.

hi ther respect this is a great idea as a gypsi this is just whta i need but will it be approved by other orgs such as uspa bpa et? and will dzs accept it. i am sure you have thought it out im just currios? blue skies and respect for your hard work on our behalf life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.

hi ther and welcome to our skydive world! tips are nice but not a requirment, so you dont have to, for you and use to jump, a lot of people have to work hard, it takes a big team to make a skydive, packers pilots office staff riggers and instructors all play a part, the only thanks we want from our students or guests is KEEP SKYDIVING AND BE SAFE . finnish the course then if you feel the need buy us a bear (ring the bell) but it,s more important to us to see a big smile from you in free fall or when you land and thats thanks enough, and why we do what we do. blue skies life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.

yep anyway to digress a little how do other instructors rain back over eager students? eg no you cant jump my firebolt 101 cos you only have 10 jumps, or no you cant jump with your friend cos you both have only 10 jumkps! ideas life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.

had that very problem yesterday winds howling! low cloud sorry guys you cant jump and then they blame you for the weather! life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.

i think you nailed it we as instructors must adapt our training to suit our students needs we must be able to read the student to make sure they are taking in the knowledge and if you like are bonding with use. if not step back and find another way to teach if time permits if that does not work then and if they are not going to be safe in the air suggest to them they need to consider they,r opptions more ground school one on one or well TAKE UP GOLF no try a tandem aff or S/L course hope this helps blue skies. life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.

hi everybody, as an instructor (i am not going to beat my drum) i have done aff tandem and S/L AND i KNOW I AM GOOD AND I KNOW I AM GOOD ENOUGH TO KEEP LEARNING but i have to disagree with obelixtim not just in the tone of his message calling instructors crap if the bin a student is very impolite and unprofessional. i have yet to give up on an aff student they all complete the course and keep jumping, S/L does not do that. the retention rate is less than one percent, an instructors first and foremost responsibility is to the safety and security of his student if the instructor is not 100 percent confident that the student can perform then spend more time with the student but there comes a point were the instructor runs out of time. another factor is comfort maybe the student is not comfortable with the instructor. as for PLFS AFF v S/L v TANDEM PROGRESSION, that’s a new forum to debate, they all work they all have advantages and disadvantages the method you use is up to you, if it works for you as the instructor then it’s the right way for you as the instructor. offer advice to improve offer criticism to construct offer sarcasm at your own risk if plfs work for you teach it, (i have no opinion either way, i teach it 5 mins or i leave it out 5 mins extra time on feet together flare and land) and yes i have binned a student (to big, not getting it or just not getting me but i dont have ego and will offer another instructor the job) blue skies life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.

hi guys here is a good way of looking after your battery. i have been using the same battries that cam with my camera for five years! is this a record? i look after them by running them down once a week totaly flat then stick them in the freezer overnight, the next morning recharge and off you go. i still get the 128 mins batt charge remaining and it seems to work, wish i could remember who told me to do this but it does seem to work try it, blue skies life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.
