  1. hi there gota jump in here coz i'm an old timer skydiver. i agrea on some of your points us old guys do some times say it works its not broke dont fix it. but i like to think that we also say you know a better way to teach it do it well SHOW ME prove to me that there is a better way. skydiving requires an open mind, i certainaly advocate ony form of improving this sport, life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.
  2. i recomend you do your risk assesment again, speak to the s&ta on the drop zone before you go and at your home dropzone. dont rush in to these new things. all good things come to he who waits. life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.
  3. got a freiend of mine to do a more in depth search looks like its a email eddress sales scam, they get your email address and sell it. thats what he told me? life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.
  4. in a situation such as you sugest replacing a set of handles is less expensive than replacing a life. Does keeping your handles increase the chance of a double mal by having a bunch of 3’ cables flying around on reserve deployment? er help ok as i understand it your asking about if the main is entangled with the body after an unstable deployment hard one and rare, the priority is to get a canopy above your head. in canopy relative work the high man tells the low man to cutaway or the low man clears his canopie then tells the high man that he is going to cut away once he has cleared any wrap. altitude awarness is important here. i suggest you do sit down with your instructors and talk this through as you are talking about more in depth problems than could be discused on the web. life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.
  5. hi there having a 5 year plan is great, some people call it a buisness plan, or growth plan. my bad is that i can wright them for others but when it comes to me i just dont seem yo be able to get round to it! what ever you do the plan should be flexible and achievable, aim high work hard for it. wish you all luck with your goals life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.
  6. good luck in your battle new ideas are what will keep the sport developing and as such should be tried. re skykittykat post agin new ideas are great, and you are right when you say s/l students are better at canopie control in the begining and a hybride training system could be developed it is nice to see so many ideas being thrown around, re pms07 post, lets try it post a suggestion on how to do it the sport can only grow strong if we all work to come up with a system theat is continusly evolving to make skydiving safe, fun and educational. life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.
  7. hehehe yep bribing them with cash should be iligal, if dzo's everfind out that tandems are fun for me i,ll be out of a job. rules rules rules new rule it is now against the rules to invent new rules however ideas can be expressed but only if not designed to be a rule life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.
  8. you could leave the choice up to the tandem master, if they feel that the increased risk,s are negligable and they can still fly safly and do the drills witha handy cam ok if not they should not be forced or coersed into using one. you could creat a rule were any dzo found to be coersing a ti into using a handy cam could be sanctioned. just my thought life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.
  9. i could have but it was windy so i chopped it, then delt with the customer, picked up the double loop (racer) and spread the canopy out. i like talking to my videot esp if the spot sucks i point down then give hime the looser sign, some times when the goof i give them another sign, and on other ocasions i get the customer to blow a kiss or give the bird ( gota be carfull here though as you dont want to upset mum) it would have been nice to land next to him but na the big field looked real nice to me and sooo inviting. i guess the point i wanted to make for the younger skydivers here is that the desicion altitude is when you open thats the time to choose your landing area, and if you do land of so what as long as you land safe! i took some crap in the bar that night (our new bar) but thats to be expected (if i didnot get crap i would worry) on the other hand some of the low time jumpers at our dz also thought it through and realised that maybe they dont have to try to land in the nice area so hard, life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.

  11. yep thats prety much why i posted it, of course the big error was getting out the plane but the job aint done until your back in the hanger, as for my passenger yep he grumbled but it went in one ear and out the other, of course i left my smokes in the hanger life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.
  12. hi everybody had a good off airport landing today, as soon as i exited i new it was gonna be poo the uppers were honking along and the winds had shifted seconds before, that sucked, i looked down and we were shifting looked at my camera guy gave him the looser sign and dumped at 6500 to build in some opptions. then started searching for some were i could land, priority 1 chute is ok can i make it back. NO in fact hell NO SO DONT TRY. next were are the obsticles ahh power lines roads and fences, O and that fucking huge FUEL FARM. SO I WHENT THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. at 5000feet looking behind me (holding in the wind) i selected this nice slightly green field, 8 miles from the dz with nothing around it to worry me. and shot for it, chatting to my passenger i said thats were we are going to land, he said why not the dz or next to my camera guy who was allready on the ground. me i like to land safe not close to hazards just to save a walk, landed cut away the main then left it spread out for the plane to swoop over and dpot. then sat and waited for a lift back 10 mins later nice aircon ride turns up worked like a charm

  16. more dz's means easyer acces for skydivers if its on tv thats advertising free advertising generates revenue and understanding. more people skydiving means that we need more facilities and equipment larger planes et al. if manufacturers ern more money they also tend to use some of that to invest in reserch and development thats gota be good more big planes yea we want that as it means more free fall and more people in free fall because the more people there are, the more public buzz there will be about skydiving and we like buzz you said it. bigger is not better all the time i have jumped at smaller drop zones and like the jive there at the same time surly we all want the sport we love to work and be big, i think there for that all are correct
  17. get a second hand dytter and use the rest to jump to test the dytter just one thought dytters are an aid to indicating opening altitude please dont rely on it, (i,m sure you all ready new that) blue skies life is a journey not to arrive at the grave in a pristine condition but to skid in sideways kicking and screaming, shouting "fuck me what a ride!.
