Good Luck with it. I had mine (Left) replaced bone-tendon-bone graft about 10 years ago. Running, cutting drills and weights - running, cutting drills and weights. It doesn't take long to recover if you are athletic. I'm thinking the warranty on that must be about 10 years based on my feelings while climbing. If you get any info on how long the docs think it lasts, would you PM me? later ... Hee Hee, spin it up Al! Actually, Jon has done 4-way and won at it. I have a 4-way trophy here with his name on it from 2 years ago. (It's kind of like the special olympics and liberal schools, everyone wins). But by all rights, those name plates should have gone on the A Class trophy, not the AA. Again, go Knights. ... Cripes, Jon. Not in a gentle mood today? We were down 7 point in round 6 not 9. You're thinking round 7 where Mauberge gained 2 more. I have to say, they are having a great meet and are showing that they would content even if they didn't have the home DZ/home aircraft/right side door/etc advantage. So good for them - world class team and world record holders. To see this much spread between 1st/2nd and 3rd with this medium slow draw, shows that some real talent is out there in the top teams and they are jumping their butts off. Everyone expected the top 3-4 teams to be much tighter. I think the high worldwide competition level is great and props go to France 4w, Russ 8w and the UK ladies. It only raises the bar for next year and we'll rise to it. As far as Nationals last year goes, the Army team earned the right to go based on the rules by having a great meet when it mattered. And even though you, as a liberal, would have liked to change the rules when you didn't get the result you wanted (was it Majic?), everyone backed up the Knights for this meet as Majik and Airspeed are first class all the way. I also don't think that 2 seconds and a third in World class level competition is "having your ass handed to you". As a country, USA is definitely the best overall performer in RW - with the teams we sent. And it looks like the rankings are going to close this way - barring some weird stuff, but it's not over. I don't think 8-way is over at this point anyway and if you saw round 5 from nationals, I'd not call the 4-way men locked either. The Army has serious rounds in game still. Go Knights! Wow it seems like you are enjoying slamming your own teams. ... My friends didn't want kids, then changed their minds after meeting my daughter (7 years old). They now have an 8 month old named after mine. It's a longer story than that, but that's the gist. My wife doesn't know yet, but we are visiting them next week in Colorado. I bet a dollar she cries. Another friend (skydiver) and I were in Indo shopping and he was looking for a certain game. Said he wanted to buy it for my daughter. I said, "I didn't know you liked kids". His reply, "I don't, I only like smart kids, like yours." I don't see anything better than that happening, ever. ... See, this forum is great. Kelli - we're covered, my best friend from college lives in Lafayette (they do everything - climb hike, showshoe, .......) and another friend is a climbing instructor from Glen Haven. THANKS I'll PM some locals if I get a free day/evening. Also, if Mile-Hi jumps in the weekday evenings, I want to know, my work is less than a mile down the road. Anyone from Mile-Hi? ... Dubya gets a personal slam on his appearance and it generates 400 responses here that mainly continue to slam him. The dem's debate is weak and whining and full of fools (I don't mind Lieberman so much) and absolutely nothing. I've noticed the politically active types on these polls like to mince words. Especially since we are all so clear and grammatically correct compared to politicians. From the Dems debate (opinionjournal.com) Enjoy slamming your dubious candidates - the best the Dems have to offer this time around: John Kerry: "I think that $87 billion should not be just granted as a rubber check to this president." Howard Dean: "[I favor] a renewable energy policy in this country so we stop sending all our oil money to the Saudis and the Iranians and the Syrians, where they recycle it back into terror." Kerry: "We deserve a president of the United States who will write laws for all Americans, not for campaign contributors." Bob Graham: "the president . . . abandoned the war on terror in the spring of 2001 by moving military and intelligence resources out of Afghanistan to begin the war on Iraq. Carol Moseley Braun: "A generation ago, a president of the United States told the American people that all we had to fear was fear itself." ... This sounds more like a stunt than CrW with those canopies (fun for swooping). It's not the size of the canopy, it's the type. (The current CrW teams I believe are jumping 110- 120 sq ft.) Eventually, your buddy, and likely you, will get cut up good trying it with these canopies. Go demo or borrow some real CrW rigs and see how it goes. If you can't find the current CrW models, there's always people out there with old Glidepath canopies, Furies, Pegasus's, etc. You'll also be up there longer and can be more aggressive with the other canopies. ... Lucky you - to live right there. We are starting to get more interested in the Tunnel up north here. I hope to make at least one NSL camp this winter/fall and then just TIME in the spring. With my team just starting to break into double digit dives (First year, I'm the experienced one on the team so you know we're just starting, but the chemistry is PERFECT so we have a couple great years in front of us), I'm very happy to have all this experience in this forum to draw from - I just wish we'd have more discussions on launches and blocks. I'm thinking 10+ average is doable with the current group just getting familiar, then we can invest in tunnel and some coaching. With Ron and Melanie in the teens (I'll watch for both teams at nationals and root for each team), I see the light at the end. I just want to go fast. When we start the new season, I think I'll just start asking more questions and try to drum up more business in this forum. ... I hate running, running hates me. After I recovered from the ACL replacement (once I could do 4 miles through the woods without a brace), I just lift to keep those muscles tight. But I think the cross-trainer is the greatest machine of all time and I mix that with free weights. (rollerblading and climbing also pretty good for both resistance and cardio). ... I'm wondering more extreme than that. The bottom guy is always upside down relative to the top group (whether it's one guy or a huge stack). Dragplanes just pick a descent angle to accommodate the formation - in the case of two canopies only (downplane) that angle just happens to be horizontal. I'm still wondering about vertical to gravity, not vertical to the other canopies. It's likely a moot question, I'm thinking no matter what, the bottom guy will be at some angle such that his body is leading his canopy (in the direction of flight). Thus, "drag" plane - he's less flying upside down rather he's being dragged behind the rest of the formation. In that case, you could always drop him and he'll just swing under his canopy safely. However, with all the sq footage above, it likely felt very close to vert even in your case. ... You'll need a little more pressure on the legs than normal. But just enough to keep from backsliding. Look at the clicky above and scroll down. The woman in the picture looks just right. Hundreds. They are personal, comfortable (most of the time) and I really feel like I've come home. There are days when I'd just as soon ride in a Cessna with 3 friends and have conversations and great 4-way from 8k or 10K than load up on the Otter (not often, just sometimes) Also, we all knew how to spot well as a result. How many people out there could spot a load? ... Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants
