  1. Oh sure, take my sarcasm and throw a reasonable statement on it. But regardless of the government's example, etc. I'd still only blame the user (maybe their doctor) on any addiction. I don't believe the government ever put out a policy saying "sure, go ahead and abuse prescription drugs" - If you know it, post it. I'll stick with the personal responsibility arguments - they are less pathetic. I don't have an issue making pot legal, provided employers can fire and make hiring decisions if they don't want people who do it working for them (in or out of the office - I know that's pretty walled-in and many disagree). Ditto smoking, ditto other drugs. Problem being though - once legal, they can't have that control over their own businesses. But that's me, my only friend is Advil and that's last resort. (After surgery, whatever the doctor says is 'discretionary' like pain meds - I flush right away. Reasonably though, whatever he says is 'required' like anti-inflamatories 'cillins, etc, of course I'll take) But let's not hijack this thread on that boring issue. Unless you really feel like post whoring. ... Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants
  2. I also thought Robin was a leftie. That's why he's a great actor (I mean that) and the greatest comedian - and not in politics. This sounds more like Dennis Miller. And the plan actually sounds pretty good except for the extreme isolationist slant. ... 3. That's ok, all good liberals will acknowledge that if Rush has/had a drug problem, it's not his fault, it's a sickness, and that it's really the government's fault. Probably GW's fault. What we need here is a good tax increase for the government to pay for either: 1 - Rush's pain killers; 2 - Rush's treatment and sensitivity training. ... 4. It's no big deal to jump in the snow and cold - layers are important. I just need to work more California trips during the winter. Nov camp is in Orlando - reserved, ticketed, reservations all done. Bringing the IC and our alternate along this time. April camp is still being organized (Orlando, Perris, Jersey tunnels should all be running by then). So that's a toss up. ... 5. Nice list, thanks. One other thing. Find your mirror and make sure that you are looking through the center at them. If not, one side of the formation could be bunched up. That means somewhere else, it's stretched out and might result in a grip being too far to take..... (I'm thinking this might depend on the size of the big way - works nice for up to about 60 or so, I'd have to ask the experts if it's also good for really big stuff) ... 6. Learn to pack, learn to spot, it's all very good and I'm sure there's other things people used to do that today some don't because of big DZs, etc. Another thing to help learn how the rig is organized (and also to create frustration) is to get a really messed up student rig right after the student gets down and throws it in a pile and untangle it. You'll learn a lot about how the lines, risers, pack, etc all line up and go together. ... 9. Wouldn't that be cool? Probably not. We are saving for 2 tunnel camp trips instead (Nov and April). However, I'm looking to our locals at the end of the October month to see who wants to go. I can hope. Actually, the Baldwin DZ is starting to have a ton of regulars (including newbies) going to the tunnel this winter. I'm hoping for a huge upsurge in 4-way competitors and an increase in the general skill levels. This might pay off better than a vacation in the long run. ... Base, I'll stop here. Read your post from my position and see what you think. I just read from your position and see your point, too. Check the rest, too, it's not so bad as you think. PM me if you still have an issue. I don't. I didn't bitch about the creepers, in fact I like some of the features and will try to emulate them in the future. Definitely not guilty about having an opinion either. I've found the best way to get someone to 'lighten up' or 'relax' is to tell it to them. Works every time. (actually, a cold beer or seven. I'm buying) Aww, man, I can't stay mad at you. (wasn't really ever, you were sticking up for a friend/teammate and got on a roll). 14. Nothing new here. I'd pick the Stiletto over the Vengeance, but the Samarai over both (Even though I am a HUGE PD fan). Unforetunately, when I bought the Stiletto, the Samarai was still priced a bit higher and we were in a crunch with all the gear buying. Now it's the same. ... In what way do you end that pile of shit with "peace"? Don't know how to make a helmut - wish I could Tried other wheels - these are the best so far I'm not a rigger so I can't make my own rig and the CFD models etc are way too much up front investment. The homemade creeper looks almost identical to the other one and is plenty comfortable and we don't fall off and the movement is very smooth. It's the castors that matter. I've already swapped e-mail with the maker of the other one and we're cool - he doesn't need you to defend him and be rude about it. Don't bother replying. ... Likely to hit Lodi if that's where I can meet many DZ.com folks. Speed star is fun. Also interested in any social events. (612)384-9692 ... ok, sounds good. I'll refer 'people "directly" to you if they don't want to make their own. I think we have a few more new teams coming up this next season and not all are handy - or so inclined. If that's ok with you, let me know, I don't want to point people to you if you want your privacy. I wish I was going to Nationals this year. It would be fun to compare notes. Like I said, the lightweight material and the quick disconnect castors are great ideas, I'm sure you put a ton of thought and effort into the designs.l ... 20. The creeper thread has me thinking I should get either counselling or a medal - probably counselling. What little tools and tidbits have you developed for your teams? I'd like to know. Here's us: Homemade creepers Laminated 4-way and 8-way dive pool playing cards for practice A spreadsheet to track which randoms and blocks we've practiced, launched. And how many times. Sortable by AAA, AA, etc. amongst many things A spreadsheet to create a dive draw (since deleted because mr. Wagner just does much better programming and offers it on Omniskore.com) A speadsheet to automatically score and handicap our regional league results through a season (this was a big deal since the modified Shugar handicap is a pain to calculate by hand) My IC modified the Print Pool (omniskore.com) pictures to mirror those points to match our continuity plan. He also attempted to color code the people to match our plan but the software only works black and white for some reason. Little guys to move around for dive engineering We copied the GK dive plan videotape (big help on launches and positioning) I made a booklet with all the Jack articles I could find T-shirts and team logos for the last 2 years, stickers, etc. But we haven't tried to sell any yet. 2 of our campers are laid out to be super friendly to team debrief and video dubbing. I think that's it and I also think each of these has helped in various ways to either the league or the team. Especially the 4way cards and the creepers. What else has helped your teams? thanks ... Creepers

I just looked at the site. $175 for creeper. I'm sure they are nice and all, but is that for only one creeper? - Sheeeesh I should make and sell creepers for that big a profit margin. I do like the concept of quick release for the castors, though. It would be simple enough to configure the attachment to lock in 2 parts: 1 to fix the bolt to the form and then 2 a separate fix to attach the castors, maybe with a wingnut to keep it simple. And the castor's wheels look flat - the ones I have are like in-line skate wheels. A person could likely find lightweight form material if they looked and bypass the plywood if they'd want. Or use quarter inch and add stiffeners. A person could always borrow a saw and sander if they didn't have one. I'd say if you could save over $100 per creeper with just a little work, it would be worth it to me. And we're building a couple more for a new team next weekend so that's now 12 creepers built to date. With 8 in this pattern in the last 3 years (not counting the 4 upholstered ones in college) that's over $800 saved compared to buying them. With shopping for materials and time in the garage to build them less than a work day total. Anyone here make $100 an hour? (Not including those who make and sell creepers for a living) I'll step off this one. Didn't mean to persist so much, but's it easy enough to do it yourself and kind of fun if you're obsessive about 4-way. On the otherhand, I hire electricians and mechanics when it's probably a lot easier and cheaper to those things myself if I had the confidence...... Hmmmm - I think I'll research some lighter form material and quick connects and modify the creepers. THANKS, now that I got this bug in my brain, I'll have to keep picking at the design until I make the changes. That'll be distracting....... Maybe I can find an excuse to buy more tools ...
