  1. well you are with me Short answer - If the buyer or seller isn't within driving distance, it doesn't matter who they are. I want to protect my interests. For my big sales, I take a deposit, and I always find someone I know personally at that location to send gear to for a sale that can act in my interests. Even then you're taking a chance. I'd just as soon not have the gear leave the friend's sight until it's inspected, jumped and the money is in my hands. ... 2. this implies you are only allowed to do one or the other......... Most heavily protected secrets are a consolidation of several bit of intel that require followup and a few very smart people that can 'fill in the gaps'. Much like this last bit on finding OBL. So long term methods of BOTH physical and mental interrogation and conversion, and everything else available should be on the buffet of things we'd apply. I'm still undecided on it, myself. I would at least 'prioritize' the techniques in favor of the more palatable techniques if I could. ... 3. That's a better answer. Delete the whole "gratuitous revenge" hyperbola and it's a better argument. And if the other side deletes the whole "ticking time bomb" and "what if it was YOUR kid" argument, also a better argument. people are lazy and always avoid logic and morals and skip straight to emotive crap - that's why debate on this site typically sucks "you guys" ... 6. This is still possible, but I agree that this is not really pertinent as the main point of the discussion. Just another emotional talking point from the other side of the debate ... 7. I agree with this, though I have no issue with the death penalty instead of solitary. And the PC position that torture doesn't work is such an oversimplification that it's now just a political farce talking point. Also, taking him alive would have been great, but the mission had to have the option to kill him if necessary for the safety of the seals and civilians. You guys seem to have a one track opinion on what torture is (essentially gratuitous discomfort until you hear what you want to hear motivated by revenge only). Torture is effective when conducted in very specific ways - it requires showing the criminal that you will ask questions you already know the answer to and making sure the criminal knows that fact and that false answers get even worse treatment. Slipping in the 'real' questions infrequently to ensure that most of the time, those questions get real answers as a result, and not just stories - and then that requires followup and confirmation and appropriate feedback to the criminal. Absolutely no element of revenge is included, it can't be, it's a persistence and behavioral thing. not instant gratification results. I'd imagine it has to be very emotionless and deliberate - completely the opposite of what's claimed here just to 'win the argument'. The short side, is that the process is not fast. It's more about psychology/conditioning than pain. ... 8. How dare someone mow the lawn!!! that's not how nature intended that landscape to look. I think it's a crock - pictures aren't necessarily real and intelligent people recognize this and just don't care other than for the product produced. People can enjoy pictures for what they are, photoshopped or not. If someone finds some deep societal meaning in 'pictures', then I suspect they have too much free time and a poor grasp on reality. Unhealthy thoughts or behavior come from deeper things than just looking at pictures. mixing up symptoms with causal factors is just silly. Guy 1 - "hey, that's a HOT woman" Guy 2 - "maybe, but that's a HOT picture anyway" Guy 1 is just allowing his imagination to appreciate the picture more viscerally But Guy 2 understands reality and is a bit more honest about it. I suspect there's a lot more people with a chunk of the Guy 2 attitude than it appears this crowd is giving the human race credit for. I also suspect, that anyone with a large amount of outrage has personal issues or simply a "guy 1" mentality (with issues). Any of the Guy 3's out there we're worried about is likely messed up anyway with or without photoshop or the equivalent. makeup, jewelry, hair styling, working out, tanning, dressing nice - how are these things any worse or better than photoshopping pictures - at least pictures are indirect ... 9. They don't know you from a stranger on the street no matter how popular/reknown you believe you are. And for anyway nowadays, $1600 isn't chump change either. Find a way to do it clean/safe for both buyer and seller. There's nothing wrong at all with that. Or wait for a local to buy it and don't deal with the fuss. ... 10. My wife made them (cordura, nylon straps, double buckles, sewn/1 lb weights) and my first one is still like new and nearly 10 years old. The price is about right for materials and time. Since shot prices have increased dramatically, she doesn't do them except for friends now - and they have to bring their own shot. Same labor rate as for suit making/repairs. One of the biggest time eaters is making the weight packets themselves. I'm pretty disappointed in new weights I've seen - they are crappy plastic bags filled with shot and just stapled shut (instead of fabric and sewn). There should be a HUGE discount for that. She's been asked by a lot of people that have these newer products to make more secure weight packages from these plastic bags. I really liked the old Velocity sportswear design. too bad they aren't around anymore (AFAIK) - the 10 pounder had a flatter lumbar-shaped back of permanent 6 pounds on board - 4 pounds removable on the ends in 1 pound packs. Super Comfy. The only change I'd have on that excellent design would be to have strapping that went all the way around the belt rather than end sewn. for security. ... 15. It is something to remember the next time you see a celebration like that on the news. Maybe all of the people from that country/religion don’t feel the same as those who end up on the news. Didn't you see the news coverage of all those people quietly staying at home, with a sense of approval tempered by the sadness that this kind of mission is necessary for the good of all? It was on the same networks that showed worldwide examples of Muslims disgusted with the Trade Center attacks in a perverted twist of something they held dear. 18. Frankly, I think Obama handled this *very* well. I do too. I was just gigging on the delivery of his press conference, not the operation itself. But I'd sooner give credit to the teams on the ground, and his advisors on the mission as the real decision makers. He should be reflecting their accomplishment rather than taking it for himself. ... 19. Didn't you see the press conference? "I", "me", "my" Obama: built the team, trained them, flew the planes, packed the rigs, assembled and cleaned the rifles, led the attack, gave the order to wait, gave the order to shoot, sewed the uniforms, aimed the gun,,, THEN gave permission to pull the trigger (based on a trigger pulling SOP that he wrote). Then he gently pulled all the information from Osama's brain in a mind meld, and lovingly washed and cleaned the body and buried him respectfully. for the country of course seriously, he didn't screw this one up, that's a win - he learned from the pirate hostage scenario - the ability to learn is a good thing ... The Donald!

If Donald wants to run for president, he needs to provide proof of eligibility: age and citizenship as should everyone who runs for an office. since it should be simple, then just do it That hasn't been enough for the current president. Some want more. I think it has for about 95% of the people. And NOW, about 99%. You can't do anything about the remaining 1%. Every pres has that nutball 1%. Nicely Done

After reading it more carefully, I would have been thrilled to see locals doing this stuff on their own. But since the 'gov' organized to do what the locals couldn't, I'm turned around - convinced by Lawrocket mainly here. (no offense you other guys, but whenever someone puts out 'nuff said type comments, I pretty much discard those opinions). I read what what I wanted to see - locals putting up minor and effective roadblocks - not liberal police type activities rationalized by the specific popularity or lack thereof of the offending group. ...
