Your post almost makes it sound like that nurse would rather stand by and do nothing just to protect her job instead of helping someone who may be seriously injured. I hope that's not the case as it sounds like this guy was just badly shaken up

I like our paper bag exits more

QuoteAt your jump numbers a Katana, Cobalt, Crossfire2, or Cometition Cobalt would be best. I noticed they all fly better loaded at 2.0 or more. reply] Don't you mean under 2.0

question about making a living

Last time I checked (sometime last year) Lodi paid only $20 or maybe $25 per tandem and $5 per tandem pack job. But then again with their sheer volume you are still making more than most dzs. -
It's common knowledge among competition swoopers to wear tight clothing rather than a baggy freefly suit or a wide sweater. On a highly-loaded canopy the difference is very noticeable. So if tight clothing is the goal why not biking shorts instead of all the 'manpris'

First - what someone else said. Check out the tunnel and getting some specific instruction. Second - don't give up! If you really want it you will find a way. A couple years ago a older gentleman started AFF and after several tries was basically told this was not the sport for him. He then went to another dz where they were more willing to work with him. He managed to get his A license even though it took him around 50 jumps!

You're on a 4-way, and notice you're at 1200ft, do you:

What events would thtat be? I haven't heard this be a requirement. -
About 10 years ago when they first did that, I was working at Albertsons. Of course being the new girl I often got stuck in the bottle room counting cans. Anyways ended up accumulating a boatload of points and got stuff like, shorts, tshirst, cd cases, sunglasses, towels, glasses, don't know what else. Would never, ever do that again though

Having trouble docking!!!

It's the student's responsiblity to come and dock on the coach if they want to pass that section of the A license, not the other way around unless it's purely a fun jump. -

SAN? I thought you were flying into LAX? Would love to hitch a ride with you to the store. I'll definitely pitch in for gas. -

Ok this is a spinoff of Mark's other ride thread since I'm flying into Ontario. I arrive at 4:50pm on Wednesday. Anyone else flying into ONT that can give me a ride? I'm up for sharing a rental car too as I'm staying at the IHOP and want to be able to do some grocery store runs. -
Hey Kirk I'm pretty sure you know my dz's policy which is probably none in the case I was told the Nitro/Nitron was like a Sabre2, maybe slightly higher performance but I've never seen one let alone jumped one.

What do you all think of this canopy for use with wingsuiting? Any experience?

So...uh...anyone have a canopy I can borrow for two weekends then

Read the replies, yelling was mentioned in the process. You are obviously not reading my posts. I'm in no way advocating "blowing sunshine up a student's dress". Which by the way I've never seen a student wear a dress at the dz when jumping Have you ever instructed in anything outside the dz? If you have you would know exactly what I'm talking about. Debriefs to the students should be honest and truthful. However, when passing off students to another instructor, in debriefing the new instructor things may be said that you would not say to the student in order to make sure the focus in training is on what's needed. The student's do not need to hear all the little details, only what's important. Too much information is a distraction and takes away from learning. I'm done. You are obviously not getting my point. Which is the same as Nick's btw.

Good thing for me that I can take someone yelling in my face. Its better than them not telling me anything at all. If you don't mind the yelling in your face why don't you join the Army where they actually pay you for the privilege of yelling in your face versus paying the dz to have someone yell at you. Ok bad example but the point is there is almost never a need to yell at someone you are supposed to be training. That's just plain bad instructing. If they cannot get their point across without yelling they have no business instructing.
-
My understanding is it's not for that reason. But rather if the original instructor is not there that day then the second instructor gets an "instructor to instructor" briefing of the student's past performance via the comments in the dz log. I'm sure that students are getting an honest picture of their performance during the debrief (hopefully).

If you had the choice between a Katana 120 and a Crossfire 2 119 which would you choose to use and why? Both loaded at 1:37. (Yes I know a more docile canopy like the Safire or Spectre would be better but that's not the question )
