  1. NO. If I recall, each checked-in luggage should not weight more than 22.5 lbs. If it exceeds it even just for one lb , then you have to pay extra. The 45 lb mark is for the total weight of the two luggage. If you have only one luggage which weights over 22.5 to 45lbs, they will make you pay extra. Tricky, isn't it? On my last trip, I have one Dakkine split luggage which allowed me to balance the weight.( that luggage has been designed for that )The airline compagny twas trying to make me paid for an extra pound in one luggage. Compagnies may have different lbs mark. check with them. Wow, what airline is that so I never use it. All the ones I use have a 50pound limit on EACH piece of checked luggage with extra charges for anything over. (United, Alaska, Southwest, US Airways)
  2. Don't forget the 500 too.
  3. I understand what you are saying however I do not buy that weight belts are not allowed. I just flew from Portland to Houston two weeks ago without a problem. They asked what it was and I said a weight belt. They said no problem, swabbed it, and I was on my way. I also looked again at the TSA site and prohibited items. Weight belts and/or lead items are not on the list. Please send me link of where it states that weight belts are not allowed.
  4. Pot meet kettle. So says the guy trying to give advice to a world champion
  5. Yep the video is very entertaining watching 20 free flyers trying to belly fly. See where dissing the belly gets you? Zoo loads! Bad ass flyers like Amy excepted of course
  6. If it's really new - call the manufacturer
  7. Sory Ro, but we are now in official "making fun of Don" mode... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3411041#3411041 Now the fun really begins. And he deserves every bit he gets since he's bringing it on himself.
  8. Whoa....!!?? Have you even ever heard of Airspeed?
  9. I'd just call that one a pet peeve for me, but yeah...misspellings in the corporate domain always jump out at me. Advertising, menus, etc...if you pay good money for something like that, you should at least demand a spellcheck! Blues, Dave A restaurant I was in this weekend misspelled American Cheese as "Anerican Cheese".
  10. Yes, but the responses to Kirk's post show there are other ways to challenge another poster. Given a choice of taking Tara's approach (I've never heard that before can you explain more) or Don's (No no no you're wrong!!!!!!) I'll take Tara's any day! [Laugh] Why thank you Although I wasn't challenging him, just wanted to know his thought process of saying that.
  11. Aren't you worried about letting her run free? Getting hit by a car, etc? Taken to the pound? (by pen I was actually thinking about a fenced in yard.) First, she is not my dog, we have an indoor dog. Second, we live in the country. Most people let their dogs run free in their yards. Obviously I meant if you were to take her Second, just curious but you don't worry about coyotes getting your dogs? I can't imagine dogs staying in unfenced yards, especially in the country if you aren't home. Although my grandparents did have dogs that would stay by the house if they were inside.

  13. What about cessna DZs like mine (in Europe) where we charge 150EUR (~200$) for tandem from 10k feet? Are we criminals too? Before Wasilla in Alaska closed I believe they were close to $300 for a tandem.
  14. You've just been lucky there, is all. See Jim Alkek's recent thread on the matter, for confirmation/more details. Just as a lot of people have been lucking being able to bring their rig as carryon and not have to open the reserve. Just as a lot of people have been lucky to check their rig and have it arrive unscathed.
  15. Quote Not that you might need a weight belt but if you do it has to be checked. reply] No it doesn't. I don't check mine and have never had a problem.
  16. Maybe offer to take the dog is the neighbors put up a pen in your yard for you..?
  17. Just go with $30 spandex shorts. It's all about drag right?
  18. I put a small balloon over the switch to protect it and just change the balloon every now and again. Keeps the rubber on the switch from wearing out.
  19. You might want to consider who is posting this advice before you blatantly declare it wrong
  20. Interesting. Can you explain? I've never heard this before.
  21. Why not hire the chain saw, and trailer, then make a days outing of it, Fun in the woods, collecting neough fire wood for a season, all for the lowly cost of a trailer and chainsaw rental, ($50), including a fun day in the forrest with firend/s
  22. Store bought wood????? Sheesh Think pickup truck.... chainsaw..... and cutting permit http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/willamette/general/passespermits/firewood/index.html Another alternative is the Oregon White Oak that grows all down the valley.. find someplace they are clearing.... construction.. and just ask..that stuff burns hot and lasts a long time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garry_Oak Ok, permit I can get but no go on the pickup truck and chainsaw. Since we'll probably only be using if for the infrequent party I'm more apt to send a few bucks and the the logs.
  23. Then why don't you elaborate. All your posts say is the dz sucks/is unsafe but you never explain yourself. People won't take you seriously unless you have examples to backup your statements.
  24. So my roommate just got one of those outdoor fire pits. Since it's rather cold here in the Pacific NorthWET I want to find whatever burns the hottest to use. Should I get plain wood or those store bought logs or something else?
