  1. Quote Look Cutaway Reach Cutaway (2 hands) Look Reserve (Peel) Pull Cutaway (2 hands) Reach Reserve (2 hands) Pull Reserve Quote This is what I was taught. Look Reach Look Pull Reach Pull
  2. I think the possiblity of out of sequence procedures using one hand on each handle is a far worse case then perhaps going unstable when using two hands. After all, most likely if they are going to cutway they will already be under canopy and therefore a barrel roll is unlikely.
  3. I wouldn't take any of his rigs for free. His student rigs were about 20 or more years old and had round reserves.
  4. Are you saying all your previous packjob still in date are bad? Or that you should not have any previous pack jobs in date?
  5. About 90% of the skydivers I know carry on their rigs instead of checking it.
  6. So do you not drive because you are trying to be green by biking? If so you are in the wrong sport! Think of all the jet A the planes are burning taking you to altitude. Do you not drive because it's cheaper? If so you are in the wrong sport! Better get used to direct depositing your paycheck at your local dz if you take up skydiving. Do you not drive because you'd rather exercise by riding? If so you are in the wrong sport! Think of all the beer that you will consume after jumping and the ensuing beer belly. Sorry, couldn't resist with all your previous bitching Anyone got anymore, lol!
  7. Nothing matches that I have now. But I will be getting a new canopy and possibly jumpsuit so those will match then. Just because I like that color combo and they will both be new.
  8. Not at the same time. From what I understand C130s are used and jumpers are dropped from around 7k one plane at a time. So by the time jumpers leave the second plane the first plane's jumpers should be under canopy.
  9. My passport expires in April and I need to get it renewed. It asks that you send in your old one. Or you can keep it and pay a few extra dollars to get it renewed. So how many of you kept yours or did you just send it in? I'm thinking I might keep mine for sentimental reasons.
  10. And the 999 mass drop in December 2011!
  11. All the more reason to jump your own pack jobs. If a packer gave you a step through wouldn't you want to make sure that doesn't happen again. Ask around. I guarantee you'll find at least one person willing to help you in learning/getting more comfortable with your packing. Packing really is that hard
  12. You are right about the cheaper flights. But I'd have to make 2 stops versus 1 for any other NY airport. Hmm... is saving $100 work the extra layover = more chances for them to lose my luggage?
  13. What's the best airport to fly into when visiting the Ranch, pricewise and ease of renting a car and driving up?
  14. Not sure where you drive but I had a 250 Rebel for my first bike. Never had a problem taking it on any freeway, big city or small. Sure you have to realize it 's not going to accelerate fast but I can easily get to 75 and stay there. No problems passing or being passed. The bike isn't going to be pushed off the highway by the wind of a big rig.
  15. Are you sure they were hurt? I've had tandem students almost pass out from the thrill of landing. A few have just requested to just lie there for a few minutes to get there bearing back.
  16. The times I've bought gear I've sent the money first. Once received the seller then sends the gear. When selling, I got the money first then sent the gear. YMMV. As far as sending it to a rigger, it's whatever the parties decide.
  17. So if you bought a canopy for you personally, you'd be fine to inspect it yourself and jump it? Oh wait, you been around the sport a while and are yourself a rigger, doh I don't quite understand the resistance sellers have in shipping their gear to the buyers rigger for inspection, especially when someone is new and may not know what they are looking at/for. After all it is a life saving piece of equipment.... Please don't take me out of context Tara. The OP stated that he is going to have their rigger give a full inspection, and then put it up for sale. I am just saying it seems a bit excessive to require yet antoher rigger to look at it. Please don't think I don't understand the reasons WHY - I just *personally* think it's a excessive. PS I have never required anyone to ship things to me before I paid for them. Anything that I get is paid for upfront. But again, I am not saying that's the way everyone should do it. No worries, I understand your point. Everyone has a different comfort level.

  19. So I'm looking into getting a new competition RW suit and think I've narrowed it down to these two choices. What is your preference and why?
  20. People who type or say I "heart" something. I've never understood that one. Why can't you just say you "love" whatever. Heart sounds like teeny booper talk.
  21. So wish I had applied for this now!! (Probably wouldn't have gotten an invite way back when but at least I wouldn't wonder)
  22. Mine sits slightly below the girls. After opening it is usually above. I've never had any discomfort at all with it. I feel like it fits like it should. (Well, the only time it was uncomfortable was with a hard opening.) I do not think you would want it above on the ground as it will most likely be in your neck choking you upon opening.

You'll receive one with your Strong packet if I'm not mistaken. Probably Sigma too if you order, I did the cross over training and just borrowed the video from the examiner.
