  1. I quit in '96 and started back up again this year. I just got bored with RW and decided to get into something more exciting (sportbikes). A few new disiplines popped up since I left, so I'm back for another go. I'm really going to try and keep my priorities balanced now, so hopefully I don't burn out again in a couple years.
  2. If you don't want it, I'll take it
  3. Wow. Damn, I just got a new container.
  4. Humming it down turning points on a two way after an eight way break off. I caught a glipse of the ground as we broke off and it was BIG! I pulled immediately somewhere around 800 ft. In the saddle for about a 15 second canopy ride. My old instructor happened to be watching the load on the ground and he turned away thinking we we're going to bounce.
  5. Hey, I put 100 jumps on my Nova, and it never did anything bad to me That's the best description I've heard.
  6. I guess I misunderstood. I just saw 3k in description over at skydiving movies.
  7. Exiting at 3k to do that is a really bad idea. If you're going to screw around, giving yourself more altitude for sorting any problems is not quite as stupid.
  8. Well, my one attempt at a Mr. Bill went like this. One jumper jumping a Manta was doing the deploying and I was hanging on. We exited off the step of the Cessna, and he pitched. The pilot chute wrapped around my foot, and since I was looking behind him as saw that, I pushed off him and kicked the pilot chute off. Needless to say, that could of been really nasty.
  9. Thanks for posting up the pics! Looks like everyone is enjoying that pond up there.
  10. Umm.... Who poured beer on their reserve? It seems like the sticky reserve flap would be the culprit, so I don't see how they are grounding all Odysseys. They might as well ground all rigs to check for stick reserve flaps.
  11. I had a PC in tow this weekend. I threw out, went back to boxman, I'm still in freefall , I look over my shoulder and I see my pilot chute is inflated, so I made one attempt at grabing the bridle, and I got the pin pulled. I reacted pretty fast, but I still burned through 1000 ft. Point is, do SOMETHING, and do it QUICKLY.
  12. Damn, you ready for Nationals or what!
  13. Umm, there's no way in hell I'm jumping at that DZ I think the definitions look good though.
  14. Well it does, but then it occasionally returns with "what's the next point" or "drive feet down, chin back, arms symetrical, why am I still backsliding, sitflying is such a biatch, I should go back to 4-way!". I did my first sitfly with a coach a couple months back, and I think I lost about 30 IQ points once we exited. I was like "Wow, he's an awesome flyer" and not concentrating on what I needed to be doing.
  15. A funny one. I did one tandem and then continued on a static line progression. My greatest fear before my first static line jump was that I wouldn't be able to climb out and hold onto the strut because of the airspeed. I was pretty worried about being blown off
  16. With a horseshoe, you wouldn't have time to do that.
  17. Sold some car audio stuff myself, but just to lessen the blow on my cash savings.
  18. Looks like you had funny though

    burned out

I burned out after 480 jumps, and took close to a decade off. I got involved with my other hobbies, and I had a great time doing it. You know what, skydiving was still here when I decided to get back into the sport this year. I'd suggest re-evaluating how you feel in a few weeks or months, and then deciding if you want to sell your gear.
  20. What's up with using lethal objects or animals as names for canopies?

  22. 6 weeks in a cast, and another two or three weeks before I could jump off a picnic table to prove to the DZO I could jump.
