Great post! For most of my adult life, I was a vocal opponent of every having kids, and I had all of the the typical male bachelor reasons. Luckily I met a woman who convinced me otherwise, and I am so thankful every day that I have my son (also a Connor). It would of been a tragedy if I had gone my whole life not knowing all of the love and joy that he has brought out of me.

It makes sense that a larger dbag could be a danger. An interesting thing is that some people have recommended to use a bigger dbag for canopies that are hard to bag. Even Sunrise Rigging has OK'd this practice as seen in this thread.

Well, good job on getting belly to earth and pulling! -
This page on PD's site has the dates for the Sabre2 ('01), Spectre('97), Velocity ('99), and Stiletto ('93). http://www.performancedesigns.com/thecompany.htm

I think the original Sabre was produced until 2000 or early 2001, and the Sabre2 came out in 2001.

You've got a good looking kid there, and the Voodoo ain't half bad either

I had Lasik done 3 years ago, and I went from 20/200 (and an astigmatism in one eye) to 20/13 and 20/15 with no astigmatism. It's been great

Mosquitos? Where?

Details? How did it compare to your Samurai?

Hmm... You're in Mass, so why don't you wait to send it back until the snow starts falling? Wouldn't want you to miss out on the season

Congrats on the jump Lany!

So I decided the freefly pilot chute handle on my new Voodoo would be a little small for jumping with cold hands in the winter. I called up Brenda & Sandy at R.I., and they built me a bigger handle with new dual side tuck tabs (into BOC & under edge of container) at no charge. I jumped the new version this weekend, and it works great.

I jump Sabre 2 and have a hard opening in X jumps (on average)

Mine hasn't smacked me, but off heading openings are the norm. Of course it is brand new, so my packjobs have been pretty sloppy. -
I'm in Chandler myself, and I haven't had any trouble with my last couple HOA's. I prefer to have them, rather than risking the chance that my neighbor decides to turn his front lawn into an automobile graveyard. Now I did get asked to be on the board of my current HOA, but I'm a little leary about liability. So far my current HOA has been good, and I think the fact there are only 99 homes in the community helps.

With my wife... I'm just curious, how long did you wait before you said "it"? A few months How long after you were feeling it did you actually say it or did you just blurt it out the first time you felt it? A couple weeks Also, was it returned to you? obviously

I suppose that's why the view from night vision goggles are green. It probably has the least impact on your vision when you take them off.

Just to clarify, is that amount for EACH? Damnit! I actually considered the question... I must be a whore

repeat jumpers--how do you know?
outlawphx replied to heidihagen's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I stopped after 5 years, mostly because I got bored. I saw plenty of accidents, but that wasn't a huge reason for me to get out of the sport. The initial thrill went away along with most of the challenge, so I took up sportbiking instead. Now, 9 years later, my curiosity got peaked by the imergence of freeflying and swooping. So I'm back jumping, and I'm really enjoying the challenge of learning to freefly. I'm also like the general attitude of freeflyers, as you're not so dependent on everyone else to have a good dive. I'm not going to be bent out of shape if I or someone brainlocks on the next point, or funnels the exit, or misses a grip, etc. So I've found what I needed to get more fun out of the investment (time, money, risk, etc) I put into the sport. As with everything in life, people will do what they perceive as giving them the best cost/benefit ratio.
