Did you buy her a fifth of liquor to go with the car, and tell her to go out and get drunk and drive? You have to be 18 to purchase a long gun, and 21 to purchase a handgun. However, you can POSSESS either prior to those ages, you just can't buy one on your own. So you can use dad's guns, or one that someone else gives you, and you can OWN that gun.
