Wait, don't tell me, I know what the gun nuts will say: "Guns don't kill people, loud music does".
-
What is your opinion on this?
-
I don't need to have suffered a gun tragedy to be against gun deaths. I don't need to have suffered a highway tragedy to be against traffic deaths. I don't need to have suffered a terrorist tragedy to be against terrorism deaths.

Thank you for that clarification. I didn't realize there was social class snobbery amongst the various primate species.

Not to worry about the Hostess Bakery shut down, resulting in 18,000 laid-off workers. The government is going to help them all out. The Obama administration will hire all of these terminated employees: The State Department will hire the Twinkies, the Secret Service will hire the Ho Hos, the Army generals will sleep with the Cupcakes, and all the Ding Dongs are going to work for Congress.

According to your understanding, what is the legal definition of an assault weapon? Whatever the government says it is. so you don't personally have an understanding of what you would like to see removed from the public. That's what I take from that statement in response to my question. Because he, like most, do not know where term came from or what it ACTUALLY means. It doesn't matter what it meant originally back in WWII when the concept was created. Since then, the government has redefined it to mean something else. And that's what they're regulating with the assault weapon ban. So it no longer matters what it meant in WWII - that's past history only. What matters now is what the definition means NOW. If the government bans AR15's as assault weapons, and your defense is that AR-15's weren't assault weapons in WWII, then you'll lose. Have fun sitting in prison, explaining to your fellow criminals how you're innocent because assault weapons are only machineguns.

One moment he's a cute, innocent monkey. But hand him a gun and in the next moment he becomes a dangerous killer. Just like what happens when you hand many cute, innocent humans a gun. They've then just got to go out and shoot someone or something.

What if someone threw a gun party, and no one came?

People who kill with vehicles do so accidentally. People who kill with guns do so intentionally. So perhaps we should be a little more strict on the guns. -

So says the monkey. Sounds like something out of Aesop's fables This one seems fitting: "The Monkey and the Fishermen": http://ancienthistory.about.com/library/bl/bl_aesop_monkey_fisherman.htm Note what happens when the monkey tries to catch the fish... -
It doesn't matter what YOU consider an assault weapon to be. It's how the government classifies them that counts. And Obama considers your AR to be an assault rifle. So just keep right on telling yourself it's safe, 'cause that'll make it easier for Obama to send his lawmen to come get it from you, and others that think like you. And society will be better off for it, while you stumble around in a confused daze mumbling; "But, it's not technically an assault weapon!"

1)Whats your personal motivation behind jumping out of an airplane. Chicks dig it. 2) What factor does adrenaline in YOUR own skydives. Sentence makes no sense. 3)What factor does pushing your skills to the next level play in your time in the sky Little.

Who is "my kind"? A nuclear bomb is an object too, but that doesn't mean that everyone should have one. Humans are imperfect, they're fallible, they screw up, and sometimes they turn just plain evil. So it's not a good idea to arm them with things that they can use to kill others. -
18 to buy a long gun and 21 to buy a handgun. You should have emphasized the word "buy". They don't have to be that old to possess or shoot one. 16-year-olds can run around in the woods with a gun, perfectly legal. But we don't trust those same kids to have alcohol. Seems like a disparity to me.

The DOJ stated before the ban that less the 3% of crimes were committed with guns that were later banned. Care to list how many crimes have been committed with these 50 cal 'sniper' rifles? I'm in favor of taking a 3% drop in gun crime when I can get it. That's almost 1,000 lives. .50 caliber rifles are great for terrorists and can bring down an airliner. We ought to ban 'em outright, but if you're not gonna do that, we ought to at least know where the heck they are, so that when one is used in a crime, we know who to suspect. Brady Campaign: "The campaign is also campaigning for the banning of specific high-powered rifles such as .50 caliber rifles. "According to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (BATF)," it states, "the .50 caliber sniper rifle has a dangerous history of criminal misuse. This can only worsen as the weapon becomes cheaper and more readily available. BATF has linked .50 caliber BMG sniper rifles to drug dealers, international drug cartels, militia and terrorist groups and a religious cult. Additionally, a 1999 report by the General Accounting Office, 'Criminal Activity Associated with .50 Caliber Semiautomatic Rifles,' stated that of 27 traces involving the Barrett M82A1 (one of the most popular .50 caliber rifles on the market) 18 (66%) were associated with criminal activity."

Headline: Black Friday Gun Sales Hit New Record High Quote: "Black Friday gun sales hit an all time record high last week with demand for new firearms so overwhelming that it caused outages at the FBI background check center on two separate occasions. Fueled by fears that the Obama administration will go after gun rights during a lame duck term, the FBI reported 154,873 background check requests on Friday..." http://www.infowars.com/black-friday-gun-sales-hit-new-record-high/ Obama was correct - right wingers are doing a whole lot of clinging to their guns.

Wondering what the connection is between the CIA and parachute meets... Back in the 70's during the Cold War, the communist nations used to mingle with the democratic nations during world meets. The commies had "handlers" with their teams to make sure that their participants didn't stray from the party line. And in one case I know of, a guy named Nick used the Pan Am games in central America to defect from the Cuban parachute team, and went on to reside in south Florida, and jump at Indiantown and Clewiston. That's the only connection with international intrigue that I can think of.

I actually care about the tens of thousands of people being shot to death with guns every year. You should too. I actually have a genuine opinion against those guns, and if you haven't noticed that by now, you aren't paying enough attention. Are you sure you really want me posting on other subjects too? If I drive you this crazy about guns, just imagine what I could do to your blood pressure if I branched out into other subjects. -

Not to worry, our grandchildren can pay for it. What's important is that we get everything we want, right now, for free! Whoohoo! What a lesson for our children, eh? Our parents sacrificed so that we could have a better life. And now we take that sacrifice and waste it, so that our own children will have a worse life. I hope that we DO go over the so-called "fiscal cliff". This country needs a wakeup call. -
Aha! The "other" box. I was trying to type it into the blank box for the "main canopy". Doh! Thanks for the tip.
