    When did you know it was time to get out? How did you handle the transition? What were the difficult parts of leaving/entering the real world? Easy parts? Would you go back in, given the chance?

    If the FBI etc doesn't pan out, it'll be much easier having gone to school in the area where you want to work. It's also easier to practice in an area where you are connected: family, friends, growing up, ... Generally, the practice of law involves more who you know that what. Well, I grew up in Chicago, so that'd work, following that logic...

    That works. My writing ability is one of my strong points... LSAT will not be fun, that has been made abundantly clear... K... I guess my winter is shot...Studying. No, don't want to practice in IL per se, but as a Veteran, the three schools (NIU, SIU, UofI) will be free, the tuition having been paid for by the Illinois Dept of Vterans' Affairs. NIU is 4th Tier, SIU is 3rd, and U of I is 1st. Rank my preferences accordingly. (UofI, SIU, NIU.) With a law degree, I'd probably pursue something like the US State Dept. or FBI. I have reached my limit of USAF mental beatings... Time to return to being a broke-ass student. THat's fine, just gives me more time to prep.... I hate uncertainty in life...

    Ok... My Undergrad GPA was 3.1. My Grad GPA was 3.8. Will they take both into account? I've read/worked some of the LSAT books. It the test as fu**ed as the book makes it seem? Given the choice what ranking would you give amongst the following Law Schools: Northern Illinois Southern IL U of IL It's becoming clear that I need to get out of the USAF at the end of this assignment, ~20 months from now. Is it realistic to hope for fall 2006 admission if I start now?

    They used to staple it to the paperwork. Dunno if they still do. You could spot a shitty driver by the number of staple holes in their DL. In high school, we'd always steal someone's brand new DL, and put about a dozen pair of staple holes in it, so their parents would think they were hiding tickets... heh...[/ex-chicagoan]
