First of all: I agree about the french people To those of you who say that the woman is jumping for lawsuit money - I am a frequent flyer (and I dont mean the King Air or Otter) and I know how system and not passanger oriented the airlines are. In their view they are king and thats it. Someone bumps K. off a flight for something like that - believe me I will get mideval with their asses real fast. As mentioned I am a frequent flyer. Believe me there is nothing worse on a flight than a screaming baby. I had one two rows behind me once on a flight from JFK to Heathrow...what a long night. Let the kid have a boob! People who want ot use blankets, diapers (how the fuck do you cover a kid with a pamperor huggy anyway) or better yet napkin - go to fucking Iran. There seems to be another building right next to the jump object, with a narrow space in between them. It apears to me that the jumper might have been caught in a draft coming through that narrow opening. We all know how weird canopies react close to objects were winds and different temperatures play tricks. To me it appears that the canopy also deflates to a degree. Once again I would attribute it to the weird draft coming from between the buildings. Last issue: how is the jumper? It looks like he hit the ground quite fast. jraf Me Jungleman! Damaging property to gain access to a site, even if its owned by the Sovietskaya Vlast' is a major political mistake. I am not sure about the attitude towards BASE jumping in Russia, but in the US private property is still a major issue. If you put a lawn mower engine on it and use all the gas you have in the three red gas cans right in front of it you even might reach 75 mph. Or alternatively you can go to your friendly honda dealer and ask him to sell you a real motorbike. Dude, BASE jumping is OK. Your remarks about the law and consequences are equally pompous as the post you were pointing to. What really baffles me is that they did not research the security camera positioning and that they actually used a Porsche SUV. I mean talk about sticking out like a sore thumb. Depends on which stunt: 1. The one with the shark cage and swoop was a really good show of technique - no doubt about it. Don't try it at home kids unless you have done hundreds of swoops without braking a leg...or spine 2. The motorbike and pneumatic contraption jump was not dificult. It was stupid and I am not sure what the dude was trying to prove. Of course it is great for the general public, but to me it was dumbass dumb. There are scores of ways of getting your pilot chute out if you come to think of it. The one the German dude came up with was as good as the gun that shoots aroud the corners. Hey, in general there is a bit of sensationalizing but it is not bad. The really stupid one was the Greman dude jumping with a pneumatic contraption in a canyon with a dirtbike.
