  1. I would very much look forward to that. I have taken the issue up with the USPA and copied the email that was given to me by Titusville staff. They have my email, and phone number. Till now I have heard nothing from them. I guess they just don't care. 1. I would very much like to know how the very experienced skydivers know better than my L&B Pro Dytter and Alti 2 what my container opening altitude is. 2. I would like to know what ground and/or airborne measurement devices they use to measure that. 3. I would like to know why I was basically called a liar. I am looking forward to their responses. jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275
  2. Indeed I was just informed of the same. I guess rules either change from manifestor to manifestor, day to day or some jumpers are not considered BSR worthy. Then of course lets not forget that very experienced skydivers know better than you at what altitude you deploy, so don't argue. The issue is that fun skydivers at certain dropzones are treated like crap. I have no ambitions of becoming a professional skydiver or manifest employee. I do it for fun. I stay well within the limits prescribed by the USPA. Having my integrity questioned by incompetent people and arbitrarily assigning rules different that those of USPA is something I take offence to. jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275
  3. Well, that is probably true. You will agree that it's a paid job and they can change it. I am generally a very amicable person with manifest people, but I will not let them take out their issues on me. There has to be a celarly defined boundry there. jraf Me Jungleman! 4. 1. Good point. I was annoyed with the fact that my integrity was questioned. I deploy according to the indications of my Alti 2 and my L&B Pro Dytter. My Pro Dytter is set for 6,500; 4,500 and last 2,500 feet AGL. I have never heard the 2,500 AGL signal go off. It is meant as w severe warning to me and it is my choice not to go that low. The manifest person questioned all the above. When I said that I deloy at 3,000 AGL she basically told me I was lying as very experienced skydivers saw me deploy lower. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you may have 75,000 jumps and you still will not be more accurate that two instruments on my wrist and helmet. 2. Another good point. I rally did not mean to be rude, but there are more ladies working manifest there. I just wanted to differenciate. I wanted to avoind putting her name here. I don't think I used a derrogatory term, just a mere description. There is a point where political correctness borders on ridicule jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275
  5. Alex, you are a nice guy but do me the coutresy and read my post: 1. There are no posted or informal deployment altitudes at Titusville. Believe me I read the waiver carefully, I am anal about signing stuff. 2. The manifest lady had a bad day and she took it out on me. 3. According to USPA unless accreditted, she has no competency to be an S&TA 4. Of all the safety regulations you mention, all are optional at Titusville so let's not talk about safety. Incidentally I agree with you on the tandem rule - they should be hoocked up before take of. 5. Last but not least, I am from Florida. If I ever chose to jump in the UK, I will try to stay away from the DZ you run. Apparently there are plenty of other DZs in your fair country and I may chose to leave MY money where I please. Now when you are in Florida, let me buy you a beer. This discussion is about expected Service Levels at drop zones and adherence to USPA BSRs. If employees at your DZ are less then professional then it is your bottom line that eventually will reflect it. jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275
  6. Yes, I actually read the new SIM. After all as a card carrying USPA member I try to see what my organization does, what my elected representatives do and soon. When it comest to the two hundred jump wonder manifest lady proclaimed under fully deployed canopy at 3,000 feet AGL rule I had no idea about it. Neither had she, as a matter of fact as it took her at least two minutes to answer my question as to what the rule is. As a matter of fact the particular self proclaimed Titusville S&TA had no idea about cotainer opening altitudes included in the BSRs. jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275
  7. Service level exapmle: Quoting what the large manifest lady from told me: "this is our dropzone and we can do anything we want here and you can turn blue in the face and that won't change a thing." Now I have to say that I have kept my professional cool and courteous attitude all the time. jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275
  8. Really? I thought it was my jump ticket that allowed me to get on the plane? I thought that manifest was a paid position to facilitate the customer? I must say now that I realise that manifesters are doing their job out of the goodness of their hearts, and not for money, I will make an extra special effort to be polite and bring them regular cups of tea! The issue is truly twofold: 1. There are no clearly stated deployment rules at Titusville and either 2007 SIM Section 2.1.g http://www.uspa.org/publications/SIM/2007SIM/section2.htm#21g is a rule, or let's just discard the SIM and the USPA in general. If a dropzone advertises as a USPA dropzone then they should honor the USPA rules. 2. There is of course the issue of manifest ladies perceiving themselves as deities of the upper echelon. Mind you, my wife used to work manifest during weeks at Skydive the Point. I don't think Jim Crouch would tolarate five seconds of rudness towards customers. Skydiving is a service industry and I being the customer am aloud to expect certain servicelevels. At Titusville the levels of service at manifest are absolutely non existent - they don't give a damn neither about fun jumpers nor about tandems. Their assumption is that we the jumpers should be thankfull for them letting us jump. They forget that WE the jumpers spend our hard earned money there. The USPA group members have all signed a Skydiving Service Code of Conduct. Titusville is going against all points thereof. In additio to all that Titusville does not even have an S&TA, so the two hundred jump wonder manifest lady takes it upon herself. jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275
  9. The DZ there does not have an S&TA. It is run by the manifest lady whi is to say the least semi competent. I asked what she wanted me to do and she said that she wanted me to be under a fully deployed canopy at 3,000 AGL. Putting aside the fact that she has no way of measuring that, I decided that I am not going to jump there. If they don't know how to treat a paying customer with courtesy, then they don't need my money. They can chew out their buddies, but not customers. jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. 10. I think it's true of most DZs that being nice to the Manifest Ladies is a good idea. Kevin K. By very nice I means shut up and look stupid nice. I think the idustry has forgotten that: I skydiver - paying customer They DZ - service provider, not master of universe. It appears other jumpers have figured it out too, and went elsewhere. Tandems can go elswhere too - not like Titusville is the only DZ in central Florida. jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275

  12. Interesting incident: I got scolded by the large manifest lady at Titusville for pulling too low today. She had absolutely no idea what she was talking about, but apparently some very experienced skydivers saw me pull low. I have to admit that I am well impressed with the altitude measurement equipment of the mentioned 'very experienced skydivers'. Most people at Titusville choose to dump above 4,000 AGL. I go with the BSR i.e: container opening at 3,000 AGL, which is higher than required anyway. In conclusion I requested my money back. At first I was refused and told I could sell my tickets to someone. Finally, after expalining that by selling me tickets they entered into a contractual agreement with me to transport me to altitude, they decided to pay me back. Anyway, if you are not willing to be very nice to the manifest lady, don't go to Titusville jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275

  14. I need to put a few things straight: 1. A jagdesh is a term like towelhead or goock or any other derogatory term...so yes it probably is offensive (I hope) 2. When I say that Indians have no competency I wish to address the example of HP. If you call their support center in India you will receive absolutely no support and they have no idea whatsoever what they are doing and that pertains both to HP equipment as well as call senter services. 3. I have worked with many competent indians. As a matter of fact I have some indian friends. Let me tell you that an american education does wonders. The indian on the other hand, to use the words of the estemed Borat...'not so much'! 4. I am generally against intercontinental outsourcing. Mexico is much closer to us, wages are low and there are plenty of equally competent people there. 5. I have not been affected by outsourcing, but that is because I am a fucking genious and should be a general! jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275
  15. I have to admitt that when I hear an obvious indian accent I immediately demand to be transfered over to a US supervisor. Reason is twofold: a) the Indians have no competency to solve problems b) I want the company to know that outsourcing is not worth it. jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275

  21. I received a reply from Delta today: Thank you for contacting us through delta.com. We are sorry for the delay in responding to your message. Delta Air Lines is disappointed to hear about the removal of the passenger onboard Freedom Airlines Flight 6160. As you may know, they are one of our Delta Connection partners. Delta supports a mother's right to breastfeed her baby onboard our aircraft. Please let me assure you that we are working with Freedom Airlines on their investigation of this matter. Following the results of this internal investigation, Delta will work with Freedom (a subsidiary Mesa Air Group) to ensure that their procedures mirror Delta's service standards. Again, thank you for contacting us. We will always welcome the opportunity to be of service. We appreciate your interest in Delta Air Lines. Sincerely, Kevin Aston Online Customer Support Desk http://www.delta.com The entire point of my post in the Womans forum was to actually encourage people to write to Delta about the ridicule. I am therefore disappointed that it was locked. jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275
  22. I was fun. With all due respect skydiving is about fun to me. Its about taking calculated risks. You may be a professional skydiver and then its a different story. Then again I guess that was the ferst pre mature opening you saw...right? jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275

  24. at what point does it become a pacifier for both the child and the mother? done in private..no problem babies..no problem 5/6 year old done in your face..disgusting and offensive to ALL BUT FOLKS ARE TO SHOCKED TO SAY ANYTHING AND EVERYONE HOPES someone WOULD PASS ON JUST HOW OFFENSIVE THIS PRACTICE IS .. Well this is the story... Breast feeding is generally offensive to those who have some really dirty things to hide... ...so is gay marriage - the latest gay basher exposed paid for gay sex and meth at the same time. Of course he was above the las as he is a preacher. Then again with the male whore...you have to ask yourself, was he above or below? Of course we all are sinfull, but at least I know I am going to hell and don't pretend othewise! If you are offended by a wonan's body, then go and smack your mother/daughter/sister/wife/neighbour in the face for being what they are...and please next time you pee next to me in a rest room cover that measly worm of yours with a towel or tarp or better yet a diaper.
