I have pictures too. Dont make me break them out. And about the overmoderation there, you should really take the time to find out a little more about who you are "moderating". You have, as always, not seen the sarcasm here. They are friends and fellow Bella's members. Seriously dude, sometimes you just don't get it. "Tatoo lives!!!!!"

I weigh 165 prior to gear. My wingload, if my scale is correct, will be 1.39 with the 139 and 1.30 with the 149. There will be a difference in the canopy weight, but probably not enough to make much of a difference. I already mailed the rep regarding demoing both the 139 and the 149, so well see.

I dont hate them at all. Well come to think of it, I dont have to take them, as I am no longer a student. Maybe that is why the dont bother me, while I recline in the grass with a cold "go fast" one, midday, midweek.......between loads. Oh whoops....thats probably not helping is it. :) :) :) PS, when you they open back up, see if you can find a Bella and kick him in the chicken skin for me will ya?

Well, I am not sure where to post this, but with all the pitbulls in talkback, I am sure not going to post there. I am considering a new canopy. I have demoed the Sabre2 150 at Eloy and I absolutely loved it. It was everything that my current Sabre1 150 isnt. As I was researching used gear sites, I came across a guy selling Safire2's and it got my curiosity going. So I went to the site and learned as much as I can about them and it is directly compared to the Sabre2 in flight characteristics. Being that I only have 93 jumps I am questioning if this canopy design is too aggressive for me. It is a truly elliptical canopy that is "lightly" shaped. I have not yet found someone that can explain what "lightly" exactly means. I have also been told, and as the site says, consider going to a 139 as compared to a 150, due to the superior glide, flight, and flare characteristics. Apparently the Safire2 has 2x the glide than the Sabre2 and the Sabre2 being more ground hungry in turns. If the safire2 can outflare a Sabre2, well wow, I'm impressed. This all comes back to the same consideration I have. The fact that the canopy is an elliptical canopy as compared to the semi-elliptical Sabre2. Info about myself....my profile is correct..93 jumps, 165 lbs, jump at sea-level and stand up my landings 99% of time the other 1% being slight butt skids that I dig out of. I really enjoy the forward velocity that turf surfs provide, but I only accomplish slight ones as I NEVER hookturn for landings. The only speed I accrue for a landing is a couple of zig-zags on final, or straight in when there is no wind. I consider myself a conservative canopy pilot, but am looking for something that I can grow into that will not put me at undue risk from the start. The 139 will put me at 1.39 and the 149 will be at 1.30 wingload. As recent threads have turned to shit around here, if you have serious considerations about my inquiry, PLEASE PLEASE be civil about your reply and please read it before you click that button. Edited to update my fat ass weight.

Mama, how far is Davis from Oakland?

Chopchop, this thread has been an amazing segway to the norm here lately. I cant tell you how much I enjoyed your pictures and commentary. My brother and I will be down in the Bay Area in June 27-30th. I would love to hook up with you and your buddies at Byron since we are planning on jumping there on Sunday, and whenever we can sneak away from the family reunion for a bit. Byron isn't that far from Oakland is it?

I would have clicked "disgusting and unattractive" if you had that option up there. Oh well.

Here are Jose's tips for cuss enhancement (further explanation and information is available at www.Gofuckyourself.com): • Recognize that swearing relieves stress. No one is listening anyways, so fuck it. • Start by eliminating casual swearing, cuss like a 2-dollar whore. • Think positively and shit will happen. • Practice patience, try relaxing on the toilet while you curl a turd. • Cuss, don't cope. Coping makes you hold all your feelings inside and then you'll go stir-fucking crazy. • Stop complaining. No one give a fucking shit about what you have to say anyways. • Seek alternative words. Instead of "fucker", enhance it with "motherfucking cunt!" • Make your point politely. "Excuse me sir, but would you kindly get the fuck out of my way?" • Think of what you should have said instead, and then remember that you don't give a flying fuck. • Work at it. Cussing isn't as hard as you think fuckstick.

[replyI'm glad he's OK, but it is generally a bad idea to perform chest compressions on someone who has a pulse. If they have a pulse, even a weak one, they are circulating blood. Chest compressions can interfere with that (and do things like break ribs, damage heart muscle etc.) What medical background do you have Billvon?
-
Oh my lord, you are so going to catch shit for that one. (stands back while crowd gathers)

My PC 110 as well. Routed my cameye and had it on the helmet for about 1 hour. Presto! Damn thing broke. F'ing used stuff.

I have the elan 7. The reason I picked it over the Rebel was production quality. Elan: stronger alloy case alloy gears focus motors in lens (faster) more features faster shutter speeds top of the line for amature photgraphers Basically much tougher than the Rebel Rebel: Poly case Plastic gears Shutter speeds not as fast. Not as durable as Elan. Hope this helps.

Before people run to their computers in an effort to "inform" us of the atrocities committed by our government agencies, I implore you. READ MORE THAN ONE ARTICLE SIMPLETONS! It blows my mind on a many occasion here when someone thoughtlessly post snippets from an editorial without taking the time to research the facts only due to the fact that it supports their thought processes. Originator of this post is obviously disgusted with the actions of the Oakland law enforcement community. Therefore post that support only that thought process are used. This is merely a troll of sorts, due to its massive holes in the story. I like to call it "Sunny side up reporting", you only get the half baked opinion. Here is an example on the flip side of things: Apr. 7 (AP) "Oakland Police Chief Richard Word said the use of non-lethal projectiles was necessary to disperse the crowd. Some protesters threw rocks, set a bonfire and shut down the port, Word said. "In response to direct illegal action we've deployed non-lethal action," or maybe, OAKLAND, Calif. (Reuters) "Police, in the line of fire there reacted in the best way they know how. You've got some pretty violent people there, those fellows who put on black masks and picked up big rocks. One guy took a slab of concrete and threw it at one of the officers," he told Reuters. Hows it read now as compared to before? 180 degrees different thats how. Regardless of your opinion on the use of force, at least now you have the cause and effect. I really pisses me off when protestors block traffic, block access to work areas for citizens, but it is not a cause for violence. What is a cause for force is when the "peaceful" protestors "which they all like to call themselves" start throwing objects that can injure another person. Excuse me asshole, but you dont have a frigging right to block the road, block the gate, or block ANYTHING without a permit in the first place. And when you don't like being told to leave, you start throwing shit? Where the fuck do these people get off? I don't give a rats ass what you are protesting, if you decide on this tactic, your ass is going to jail. And it is within the rights of the police to use whatever escalating force to disperse and arrest those responsible. If you get hit with rubber bullets and other non-lethal rounds in the process, tough luck, you should have better knowledge of who you are protesting with. Beside, your not going to die anyways, thats why the are called NON-LETHAL in the first place, to make it safer for EVERYONE. I am not going to state my opinion on if I agree or not with anything here, solely because I was not there. People are going to have opinions that support both sides, but for the love of PETE! at least allow others the privilege of having an INFORMED opinion based on the originating post. Ya know, whatever, I'm really just getting sick of all this crap. I am truly tired of the abuses that this site has to put up with in the name of Freedom of Speech. edit for spelling

One more thing to consider. I see how you have riveted the mount to the helmet. The rivet is nice an smooth with no snags, but makes it really hard to remove the whole thing if you want to. Another thing about the rivets, since they are aluminum they tend to loosen over time and can create issues. Unless you have large washers on the inside that spread the force over a greater area, you could have seperation anxiety upon opening. I would recommend using rounded allen key machine screws with low profile locknuts on the inside. Even better yet, epoxy the nut and washer to the inside of the helmet allowing you to achive a smoother surface that wont leave dents in your noggin. Other than that, second one looks great. Simple with no moving parts.

I agree. It's one thing to keep a few threads going on this topic but people are currently "carpet bombing" these forums with war threads and one-liners in those threads. I seriously suggest those who are doing that start using some "precision munitions"..... so to speak. If there is any lingering doubt about how most people feel about the war debates, check out the results of this. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=416513;search_string=search_string;#416513 The whole reason I made this poll post was to prove to those that thought we wanted to hear every political thought that ran through their mind and eventually spewed out onto the keyboard, were wrong. I couldn't agree more with Jessica. Thanks for cracking down on the crap HH.
