[/#003366] Just like my girlfriend. I said something about BASE jumping, and she stated right away: "If you start BASE jumping, it's over!" I had not even said I were considdering BASE. However, she don't mind me skydiving. I still want to do BASE sometime, but first I want to do another 500-1000 skydives and also start paragliding.

hmmm...why norwegian? Have we build a reputation now ??? Seriously, I won the lottery and here is what I did: I went to the pub and got a me a pint for the $6 I won.... There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Gran Canaria is part of Spain and you find this link under the dropzones section. Never been there, but it's the most expensive jump tickets I've seen. 30 euro!!! There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Had that happen on one jump too. Think I got some lines out of place when pulling the tail round the packjob I'm more careful with that now, and openings have been more consistent since. Would sure like to see the video. Can you computerize and post/upload to ftp.skydivingmovies.com so that we can see...? There are only 10 types of people in the world. To land in a windtunnel would not be practical. Way too expensive to custum build the tunnel. To small area to hit. I would more believe landing in some sort of huge pool filled with pieces of foam rubber. Basicly you only needs something that deaccelaretes you from 130mph to 0mph at a surviable rate. How hard would it be to hit a pool sized 300m x 300m (and 80m deep.???) Sounds like a really cool jump. Would be a hassel to get out of the pool though.

I wish I could come, but my girlfriend has made other arangements that weekend that I've said yes to without knowing that it was the BEAVER weekend... Anyway I don't think it's to cold. They actually go bathing outside. The chopper jump at Trollveggen must be awesome. ...If you're in doubt if you want to go, here is a good reason There are only 10 types of people in the world. I think the "not enough money to skydive" was the con that tipped me over There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

OK, thanks for the input. I have decided now, and I'll go for the high-stress-high-pay job. Called them and said yes. I'm starting monday. I think I would be happier snowboarding in my lunch break, but that job wont make me enough to support my skydiving habit . Anyway, the networking job is really challenging. Lots of stuff to learn and a dream job really. Now I have to go buy a bottle of champagne to celebrate . Today is a great day!!!!

I got fired from my job and have my last day 31st of October. Now it seems like I can choose between two differnt jobs: 1. Hard core nettwork support/tech. Working with the big gigabit/terrabit international switches. This is really the networkers dream job. It's a temporary position, but if I get a permanent position I can expect salary at about $75k / year from next year. Downside is that I can expect 12 hour work days. This is a high stress job. 2. Ski resort worker. This is a small alpine slope close to where I live. A lot of outside work. Watching ski lifts, driving snow scooters, snowboarding in the lunch break. This is a season job. (5-6 months) Expected salary: $15k-$16k Need to find another job for the summer season. (hmm...work at the dz maybee

Cool! It looks almost like a 4-cell canopy. The strange thing is that saturday I got the idea of maybe trying to make a kite out of my old canopy. I thought of removing 6 (maybe just 4) end cells, leaving me with a 3 cell kite. Just move the stabilazors, and try do change the line trim for kiting. It doesn't seem impossible, but I figure it will be pretty hard. Anyone done/tried this before? Is it worth a shot? Could be a nice recycling thing for old canopies....

I haven't quite figured out why, but depending on what pc/browser I'm on, the links come automatic. Now I'm on winXP and IE 6 and have autolinks. If I use Opera, I don't. Close to invisible There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

That looks like a greate product. Whis I had one of those when I learned snowboarding. Trust me, if you're thinking of starting snowboarding you will be wanting one the first few days in the slope... There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

I've heared that someone at my dz once managed to get a student cypres to fire under canopy by toggel turns. Anyway, no hard turns under 1500' to be safe. Just like you're taught when jumping student rigs. Read the manual! Point 2.2 explains some of the difference between the expert, student and tandem cypres. There is also a lot of info on how it should be operated, that you need to know. The biggest issue I see, is if you pull a little low, and have a slow opening. That could give you a two-out situation. There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Going down to visit Grenland FSK tomorrow. The weather report says it's going to be 3 degrees C (That's 37.4 F). I wish I were living in Florida or Spain...brrr. Next time I go jumping it will probably be snow on the ground... "Is it secret? Is it safe?" Blue skies!

Cypress value is easy... http://www.poxon.org/Craig/Skydive/Tools/CypresValuer.asp Since it needs another 4 year check and new batteries it seems like it worth about $98 There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Would it not be best to ask a qualified rigger to install the cutway handle and adjust the cable length? Would suck bigtime if you screw it up and find out at you next mal... There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Try this for therapy: 1. Put on jumpsuit, googles and helmet. 2. Get in a car and have a friend drive on the highway. 3. Stick your head out the window. After feeling the air in your face for a couple of minute you should feel better. Doesn't beat the real thing, but your body kinda believes you have been skydiving. End the therapy session with lots of beer to complete the sensation! If you have access to a car, maybe go and visit another dz is the solution
