  1. Imagine putting some poo on the eyelash brush... ...and someone walking around all day wondering where that smell was coming from.
  2. As skydivers, we think of ourselves as "risk managers". We believe that we can measure how much risk that we take. We wish to enjoy the parts of life that matter. Friendships, fun, exposure to adventure. To step out of that door, you have to arrive at a point where you believe in yourself. You take the training and check the gear, but ultimately it is that belief. The friendships are sometimes more deep because it is wonderful to share a common excitement for life. It is a stronger bond. It is painful to lose friends. It is extremely sad when they are people who are excited about life.
  3. I think that is the word that I am looking for. Some people refer to it as "slack" or "wiggle room". Authority figures have become such martinets for enforcing every stinking law to the letter. There used to be a little "latitude" in making decisions. Monster Personally, I found this a little bit funny. When I was in college, this was known as "a harmless prank". Ok, if you run off the road because you saw the barrel monster, it is a problem. But if that happens, maybe you have bigger driving issues. I hope the construction site manager has a sense of humor. My neighbors had a fiberglass clown in their front yard. It had a piece of rebar in its finger that went into the ground. It would stand on its head. About once every four months, some drunk student would kidnap it. They put up a sign asking for its return and it came back. Harmless fun. If the kid is convicted, I hope he puts the picture on his resume. He's got some imagination.
  4. Right now, they are using your hairbrush to scrub the toilet bowl.
  5. Normally, you just merely troll. That is an obvious lie. From the report: The report mentions the fear that veterans may carry out violent attacks. That is the failure to re-integrate that the report refers to, and I referred to, and you understand. I was referring to it in context and you understood that context. You spend too much time playing the little Dem Sophistry games of the definition of "is". Normally it is only annoying and valueless to a thread. This time, it was ugliness. You need to just man-up and apologize for your remarks about veterans. Or don't, I don't care. Just don't respond to my posts anymore.
  6. Combat golf! I like it! That is the USF golf course. It is a swampy, low, very green golf course on the edge of a swamp. Almost a guarantee of a gator in every water hazard. I have never tried to retrieve a ball from the water. Sometimes, the small ones will go racing across the fairway. People who don't live in Florida, don't realize that the darned gators are everywhere. You just have to use common sense.
  7. Are we having the same conversation? We were discussing the report. The report about right-wing extremists and their supposed relationship to terrorism? That report? Obviously, returning vets are not participating in vast right-wing extremist operations to harm the US. That is the topic. Yes, some may have committed suicide. That has nothing to do with the topic, thread, or report. That was pretty sad to try to twist that. *** > However, Rev Wright . . . The fact that you would try to use a Wright/Obama slam to assert that two murders are not significant is pretty pathetic. Perhaps if another soldier commits suicide, you could use his death to claim that Obama pals around with terrorists - that's always good for a point or two with fellow conservatives. The Wright/Obama connection is an obvious joke. Wright himself has become a parody. Using the unrelated suicides in this thread to make some pointless point... that is shamelessly offensive.
  8. However, Rev Wright (Obama's preacher for years) has come out with a statement about the source of his problems with relating to Obama. It apparently is the Jews. Perhaps Obamas mentor is part of the Holocaust attack Left Wing conspiracy. See how stupid that sounds? There are lots of groups in the world, with a variety of opinions. The internet connects people with common opinions. In most cases, the consensus is that while the group is vehement opinions, they do not support violence. Or, the group may support violence, but lack the organizational ability to carry it out. Wright sounds like an idiot. No one is openly taking him seriously. If they do, they probably won't be driven to violence. Sources of violence are best accomplished by a well-funded, well-organized group that would openly advocate violence. These last two years, the successful group seems to be the jihadists.
  9. No, the returning veterans are re-integrating into their communities in a calm and safe manner. However, Rev Wright (Obama's preacher for years) has come out with a statement about the source of his problems with relating to Obama. It apparently is the Jews. Wright Perhaps Obamas mentor is part of the Holocaust attack Left Wing conspiracy.
  10. It's kind of like the person who shot the Army recruiters. Lone nuts don't deserve a lot of discussion. There are a lot of fringe elements with one person that takes it too far. However, they aren't even representative of the group.
  11. Not really. Some family members have been located and have stated that they disowned him years ago and regard him as mentally unstable.
  12. The incidents that you mentioned are the work of individuals acting alone. In a similar vein, the shooting of the two Army recruiters by a lone gunman does not constitute a part of a conspiracy. The number of individuals acting on the basis of their leftist beliefs is certainly beyond that of the two recent incidents. The two Tampa college students who possessed bomb materials near a military installation are probably better examples of an organized plot. The most violent organized group is the leftist terrorist organization ELF. They have bombed car lots and transmission towers. The level of violence and planning is definitely elevated beyond "lone gunman" when acquiring and using explosives. The FBI site has 5 pages of incidents involving this one leftist terrorist group. ELF search The FBI has a better picture of the situation on their website. link They mention the many plots against NY airports, Fort Dix. Is the left resurrecting the "vast right wing conspiracy" again ? It just seems like the left wants an opportunity to start a "vast right wing witchhunt".
  13. Hmm... let's say that 5 people who criticize James Earl Ray (MLKs assassin) can be proven to be a racist. That still wouldn't invalidate any facts that they presented. Does that change the fact that JER is a racist ? No, it merely allows the respondent to avoid a discussion of the original facts. No matter who is posing questions about a SC nominee, what matters are the facts and the questions about those facts. It is the thought process of the nominee that has importance for the whole country (and the world for some issues).
  14. Well... I have noted a few non-jumping festivities into my logbook, but there is not enough air time to log.
  15. news this week ...or maybe they are unqualified according to the test. One of the guys who passed the test is Hispanic.
  16. You're absolutely right. However, I want to be remembered as the guy that found a way to survive!!! After all, I'm an asshole and a braggart. I want to be the one telling the story. And, I want a chance to embellish it. Oh, what a story I’ll tell. No shit, there I was…….… I have a friend who was doing a demo from 3K. Bag lock and his reserve wrapped around it. He went through a citrus tree and landed in some soft sand. Broke almost everything. Every time he tells the story, he was going 5mph faster. Ya know what? If you live through that, you get to tell it any way you want.
  17. There is a deck that overlooks the landing area. About 4 off the ground - look over to the deck, give a "thumbs up" and say, "So far, so good."
  18. clicky Support for international terrorism and possible possession of weapons of mass destruction. Senators writing Obama about this. Clinton using harsh words.
  19. Do you think that this will be Hillary's last political appointment or elected position ? Do you think that Hillary will come out after this ?
  20. The last major event of this type was the Camp David accords. The Egyptians had it handed to them by the Israelis and realized that it was not in their interests to try it again. In 1979, they signed and the Israelis bargained away some territory. The Arab League tossed them out. Events escalated and eventually Sadat was assassinated by his own troops a couple of years later. Hopefully, since the US has a large relationship with Kuwait and SA, perhaps things won't move in the extremists favor. Based on the occasional terrorist attack at Egyptian seaside resorts, I wouldn't count it. AQ will probably increase activities in Egypt in the short term, just to make a point.
  21. This thread highlights one of the most laughable mannerisms that I notice in people. It goes like this... "What do you think about...(topic) ?" "(This) is exactly what I think about (topic)." "No, that's not it." See it all the time.
  22. That is the sweetest thing that anyone has said to me in hours.
  23. Yes... I will bring the wind.
  24. One more question. Do you really want him to release the torture pictures? Absolutely not. It would merely supply another opportunity for lunatics to exploit. There are many soldiers in harms way who did not torture anyone. It would only make their job harder. I also wouldn't vote for any 'tard who said that he was in favor of releasing them. It's as easy as a signature. A moment. He isn't doing it. It is just one of the easy campaign promises that he has reversed himself on. Photos. Wiretaps. Gtmo. I haven't changed my opinions. I can't imagine why someone would vote to support his. Even he doesn't like them. So, why are his supporters still his supporters when he is doing what they voted against ? (Sorry, I forgot... no criticism of St. O)
  25. That makes so little sense. I like the Gtmo policy of keeping terrorists outside of the US. With the Marines in Cuba? Good place. I supported the Bush policy. I support the Obama (and the revised DEM party leadership) policy. The policy makes sense. My support is consistent. The DEMs ripped Bush up one side and down the other over it. Now they are against the Obama campaign promise to close Gtmo. Fleep-Flopp. Torture photos. There is no value to making them public. Bush was against it. Obama is against it. My support is consistent. Obama made transparency a campaign promise. Photos? Wiretaps? A change as easy as a signature. No problem. So, where are all the DEM critics of Bush on SC ? Why aren't they wailing about that Obama signature? The failure of the promise of "change"? The DEM Obama supporters support him even though his policies have become the Bush policies that they attacked. That is inconsistency.
