Bad idea. You are just signing yourself up for a plague of anguished phone calls and letters. Remember two things. 1- "Sales" is defined as "overcoming objections" and these guys love a challenge. 2- They've got nothing but plenty of free time and empty promises.

No... I didn't make this up... I have had my theories on the economy and market strength of certain companies. Now, validation at last. You have been asking yourself, "Why have certain Japanese car companies been doing well while GM sinks?" Goats. clicky You've got to admit, you never hear GM offer free goats. It's always a new bed-liner or GPS. Integrated marketing approach. Very nice. Links to the ecology and reducing global warming... and no goat flu from products built in Mexico. (These guys are wizards. Something for everybody) "Float the goat" ? A viral catch-phrase to drive the campaign. But, let's face it, what if you have a healthy supply of goats already? They are there with a supply of other types of shiny trinkets. I'll admit, I saw this coming months ago. Does anyone listen to me? No. The only response I get is, "Go away. Goats are not the answer." I hope that they are adult enough to admit who is right. Just in time for the discussion about naming the new GM CEO I might add.

Former S. Korean President Roh commits suicide

Nah...Clinton has too sweet of a deal with all his speaking arrangements... To be fair, hasn't he suffered enough. -
Bringing terrorists to the US can have many exciting conclusions. 1- They are entitled to private communications with their attorneys. The mafia bosses used to use this privilege to run their businesses. 2- They recruit other prisoners that they contact. 3- The most exciting result? They might not convict everyone. The rules of a court of law require evidence or they just be not convicted. Then... they are in the US and not guilty of anything. Somebody who was held in Gtmo for 7 years and is unhappy about it. Not actually guilty, but just not convicted... and walking around in your neighborhood thanks to the DEMs campaign stupidity. It was fun during the campaign to get the ACLU to nip at the heels of the other side, but reality is worrying the DEMs right now.

Two of my worst experiences are- When a passenger is drunk and realizes that they are about to puke. They turn to projectile vomit at great velocity... only to realize that the window is up... The other time was when the SO had food poisoning. Stuff is racing out both ends and they can only point one end at the toilet at a time. So, the technique is to turn when necessary. When they fail, it has the effect of a really nasty water sprinker.

A man is sitting in a public toilet, takes a volcanic dump, and realizes that there is no toilet paper. He asks the person in the next stall, "I'm out of paper here. Could you pass me some?" "No. I'm out here too." "Any newspaper?" "No." "Two fives for a ten...?"

O has problems. The DEM political double-speak machine told him what to say and he said it. That got him elected. Now 90 to 6 ? Ouch. The Ides of May ? I don't think O thought "got your back" involved a well-place knife. Apparently, the DEMs are against "change". This could get ugly. People on the inside of the tent usually piss towards the outside.

Pink Boxers – Latest in “Psychological Warfare”?
happythoughts replied to nerdgirl's topic in Speakers Corner
Just because his boxers say "I love NY", it does not make him gay. ...you can't make him, he's a volunteer. -
"I love her to death... but..." (Interpretation - "The knife is in and I am about to begin twisting it...")

If you speak Spanish, there are forms of verbs for you (singular) and you (plural). The plural-you, or you-all. Simply continental. Southerners always seem to be educating our brethren from the Great White North.

partisanship & the demographics of Speakers Corner
happythoughts replied to nerdgirl's topic in Speakers Corner
No matter which party is represented... they are "just here to help". After all, all those Washington pointy-heads are more intelligent than the rest of us. -
Not to derail the main topic (because you already did by including this) but certainly you can't be "proud" of the way that got pushed through? Gag me with the whole place setting. "...but mom... they made me." I'm getting a little tired of the DEMs trying to have it both ways. This record is skipping on a different track now. Any time they do something, in trade for political capital, they try to sell it as the "greater good". "We had to..." "They made us..." Please. Politics. The POTUS doesn't have to do Anything. I remember hearing before about how Obama was really against nuclear non-proliferation, but "he had to" deal with India because of his "regional responsibilities". (That deal was a supremely bad idea) Reagan used to make deals and trade back and forth. He said that "he only got his way 80% of the time and that is why he got so much done". O is in the big leagues. He's been a Chicago machine politician. If the DEMs are going to play that BS game, they're going to have to try their pouty face somewhere else. Maybe they should have gotten Meryl Streep to be the White House press representative.

partisanship & the demographics of Speakers Corner
happythoughts replied to nerdgirl's topic in Speakers Corner
Let me get this clear... - a bill was signed that allows licensed concealed-carry in parks... by the DEM president O. - leaders are stating that Gtmo should not be closed because... it really isn't that bad. "humane" even. (a nice revision of last weeks WB discussions.) - nobody wants Gtmo detainees released into the US, even if they are innocent (the ACLU is pooping their undies). - they admit they are parroting the opposing party. - they are trying to convince their party of all these things (successfully) The leader? Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev. ...another DEM toeing the REP party line. So... if a person starts using common sense... are they still a REP or a Neo-DEM ? The demographics of the party line is getting pretty blurred when the DEMs are all stepping over it. -
abcnews It sounds very much like the DEMs want an "exit strategy" from Obama. What? Action without an exit strategy? What was he thinking? Those darned REPs... saying the same thing for a year now? Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev Interesting? If they are found not guilty, Reid still wants them out of the US? What is happening to the Bill of Rights under the DEMs? Can't the innocent just walk the streets? Once again... the DEMs win on one platform, but echo the REPs. From... we've got to close it because of torture... to... "humane... well-run... state-of-the-art" Must have been humane torture that the DEMs have been protesting. So... in two weeks, from... -closing Gtmo because of the torture -getting fair trials that are not in military tribunals -rights of the accused. To... -back to military tribunals -in Gtmo -because it is so humane -no one wants to close it. Basic difference? REPs state what they always said. DEMs now state what REPs always said, because it makes sense, instead of puking up the campaign rhetoric... again... Instead of each week announcing a new section of the REP campaign platform, why not just admit it. ...also, a new signature allowing licensed carry-conceal in parks.

Have you ever been so sick you wanted to die?
happythoughts replied to skittles_of_SDC's topic in The Bonfire
food poisoning advice. if you ever have food poisoning and you have been puking for 2 hours, you will arrive at a point... you will feel the last item coming up. the way to tell is that it is round and hairy. swallow quick, it's your a-hole. -
pic They don't bite (fortunately). They swarm around and get into everything. You have to drink with your hand over the container. They spend their short lives mating. They fly around joined at the tail. People refer to them as "those f-in bugs". That's exactly what they are.

So, American Idol is illegal ?

Right now in Florida, it is lovebug season. If you haven't lived through them, they come out in droves after a good rain. Then, they live for 3 days and swarm everywhere. They are plastered all over your car, but are a nuisance when just walking or sitting. Instead of genetically engineering purple dogs, why not a cat that eats lovebugs and breathes CO2 ? That would be more practical.

Man arrested for having "too much ammo"
happythoughts replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
A person at work has 15K rounds in his safe. He orders it online. Last week, Fedex delivered 8 cases to his door. He and his wife are accountants during the week, and competition shooters on the weekend. A few months ago, they took a vacation to a full-auto gun range. -
You can't approach my friends cat, even with a sledge hammer. We always say, "You have to sign a waiver to pet the cat". He has social issues. "He's becoming very mellow." "He bit you last month... and he likes you." "See? Only once in two months." I am trying to train the neighbors cat to eat lovebugs.

Is a skydive necklace retarded looking?
happythoughts replied to KevinSpencer's topic in The Bonfire
In other sports, fans (non-participants) will spend $400 for a leather jacket with their favorite NFL team, for example. They don't own the team. They aren't on the team. They are merely sponsoring it. So, I think that is kind of overboard. So, if a person is actually involved in a sport, then they should pick their level of involvement. That includes accessorizing. Almost every female scuba diver that I know has a dolphin necklace or charm. Sometimes, I hear the SO of a jumper put down the shirts/necklaces because they aren't involved. It is something that is "not me, let's talk about us (me)". -
Not me. I'm having my ashes mixed with plastic and molded into a vibrator for Megan Fox.

They are just discussing us like pieces of meat. No concern for our feelings at all. All they ever do is think of their urges.
