  1. One of the facets of Tourettes has always fascinated. It is effect of blurting out thoughts without control. Politicians are usually masters of that type of control. It always amazed me that he has survived in the political environment. It would be worth a few thousand to sit at his table and pound some drinks. He would be an absolute hoot to get toasted and tell dirty jokes with. (edited to add) The security people should be moved to other duties immediately. They failed at the definition of their job. "Blue 5. Mount Rushmore south-face is secure."
  2. No. To understand it, it is a matter of scale. It is theft. It exists at all ages of development. As children, some discover that they can merely take what they want from the others because of their size. After school age, they steal from other houses. Or, if they have the legal/business knowledge, they steal using stock derivatives, lawsuits, or corporate leadership (ala Enron). (Citi doesn't have to pay back billions in stimulus money if they continue bankruptcy - your money stolen) War is rarely decided by the millions, but the few. It is theft of another country's assets. The Japanese have a saying, "Business is war". If you can get the assets through business, then war is not necessary. Review the US-Japan history on electronics, tvs, stereos. However, if the business environment gets poor enough, countries will always return to war. In Africa, they deal with a finite amount of resources. By giving them food, the governments merely reallocate the resources to arms. Donor countries are merely enablers.
  3. Yes. One holding a golf club. I noticed when playing video games that sometimes a woman will pop up as an opposition figure to add momentary confusion. Some men hesitate to shoot. Of course, not the divorced ones.
  4. The photographic evidence is obviously flawed. Sound is a mechanical wave and requires a medium. The TIE fighters would not make a sound when moving through space. The film must have been altered to add sound to the film.
  5. I wonder if this will have any effect on the decision of the Nobel Prize committee.
  6. Oh... I thought this was going to be a SQL Server question.
  7. Jesus returned right after Easter boogie '07 and took all the good people into heaven, ala The Rapture, so this is all post-event discussion. We are now living among the sinful, who I wish would get over it and accept their position.
  8. How much would it cost to destroy the evidence?
  9. Today was no-show, no-grips, behind-the-line, 10-way speed. Van Break did some skydiving that was nothing short of astounding. Friday will be 8-way sequential. This is always a favorite. There will be teams looking to pick up a last minute team member or two.
  10. Alligator Gar...'cause they're mean, ugly and really hard to kill! Between the bony scales and the cartilage, even the the gators and otters leave them alone. They cleaned out some local streams of the game fish, so we started popping them when we got the chance. A .22 irritates them, but something a little larger fixed their problem.
  11. Yes, I've seen them in the locker room. However, they don't really interest me. You totally misinterpreted that. She was asking if everyone else was circumcised. (if we spell that "circumsized", it probably means something entirely different)
  12. Hey some people have to pay the stupid tax When I was buying my $3 in tickets (for which I got $3 back), the guy behind me made a similar remark... ...right before he paid $50 for a carton of cigarettes. $6.50 a pack now. If cigs hit $20 a pack, that guy will be holding up liquor stores. At least he was not expecting anything in return Skydiving, drinking, laziness... Gambling is just an additional element of my overall appeal. I call them "hobbies" instead of "vices" to avoid a negative connotation. I'd add more, but the current ones take all my time.
  13. It's like why most guys tell women how great they are. Most of the time, it is convenience sex and you want to be complimentary so that you get a return visit.

  15. Usually, when I go through a drive-through food place, I figure out my change in my head because I expect it to be wrong. I absolutely expect it if it is after 9pm. They figure that a certain percentage of their customers have had a few drinks and are headed home. The "drinking tax". They short them a dollar. Some people don't check, some can't count. If you catch them, they apologize in the most humble fashion. Today, it was lottery tickets. I handed her 3, she said, "no winners". "Umm... one ticket was a $3 winner." "Oh, sorry. I didn't see that. Here's your money." She probably does this to 50 people a day. 10 don't realize it. She gets $30 in tickets and gives them to her b/f at the end of the day, he redeems them elsewhere. Just a word of warning...
  16. There is only one problem with all pre-quels, it is the creation of suspense. Example - we know that certain characters live, so they cannot die in this movie. There is a guaranteed limit on their possible danger.
  17. The major value in a journal is follow-through. Most people start thinking about a particular event, but get distracted before they arrive at a conclusion. Writing it down ensures that people complete their thought process. It's a good method when people are at a college age because people are not measuring things against reality. They are still defining their future lives with myths. The purpose of a journal is to sort out thoughts. That need fades away after being immersed in real life for a while.
  18. Eat a bag of bright orange Cheetos as the first food before drinking. That way, when you see orange, you know you are done barfing.
  19. I met a woman - 32 years old, recently divorced, and moved back in with her mom. I called her up and her mom answered. "My daughter is not going to hang out at the skydiving place. You can kill yourself if you want. Call back when you quit that stupid sport." I plan on calling her back if I give up the sport. After all, I'll bet she still thinks about me... 15 years later.
  20. I went through this last year. Your only hope is that your parents do not suffer in their last years and pass quietly. My father did bury two kids and it was so painful that it was unbearable to watch, so you can be grateful that he was spared that. It is a very personal experience, so take some time off and collect your thoughts.
  21. There is a look that is similar to this, and it absolutely cracks up little kids. Here is the way to do it... Try to do the duckface by pushing your lips together and as far out as you can. Then, suck air in through your nose and seal your nose with your upper lip. Then, part your lower lip a little. Adults being silly will always melt small kids into spasms of laughter.
  22. Hahahhaa........ WORD. This is the day for it. Another thing that I don't understand. What Word are we talking about ? I never know what people mean when they say that. I've been using Articulate because I think it is clearer. It seems like a good synonym clears things up. (Except for "synonym", it doesn't have one.) "Yo' dude, articulate"
  23. duck face The other thread got me thinking about this. If you are over the age of 13, you don't need to give anyone a pouty-lips look. (Actually, 9 is the age limit for pouting.) If you do pout, go sit in your room until you can be social again. Also, sucking in your cheeks only lasts as along as you can hold your breath. When guys suck in their stomachs on the beach for 10 seconds, same effect. The look has been given the attractive name of "duck face". Note - the Duck Anti-Defamation League has filed a lawsuit against the website.
  24. My dad liked yard sales and craft fairs. He never got the idea that no one sells a working coffee-maker. He used to give me one on a recurring basis to replace the last broken one that he gave me.
  25. Records? Doesn't everyone use an Ipod now?
