Quote also read further on the forums about the benefits of using dacron over spectra. My Spectre 150 is currently at PD having the lines replaced with dacron after a slammer at Lost Prairie that resulted in a trip to the CT scanner to see if my back was broken... Besides missing Buds turkeys,I think I'll miss riding in the van with Rob listening to Alice's Resturant during the traditional scattered all over the countryside load. But new traditions start this Thanksgiving, hopefully to be carried on for many years. My personal opinion is not much will really come of the recommendations made to the FAA. They make recommendations all the time and nothing ever comes of them. They have bigger fish to fry than skydiving.Look at the number of crashes and deaths from Part 135 tour operators and EMS flights. We're way down on the food chain. If the camera your using does not have the bypass (TRV22) put the camera in vcr mode without a tape and it will feed thru the firewire.... Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.

The green arc is the normal operating range. In my 182 the green arc for rpm is 2100 to 2600 and for manifold pressure 15 t0 23 in. hg. There is a device out there to detect carb ice. Its called "Iceman". It works by using an led as a light source and a photo cell as a trigger for the alarm circuit. It screws into the side of the carb into the throat where the ice forms Once the ice starts forming and the photo cell does not see as much light it triggers the alarm (audible and visual). There has been a bunch of times where it has alarmed when I would not think ice was forming (FULL POWER CLIMB) and the application of carb heat cleared the alarm. Its pretty cheap as far as airplane stuff goes ($365 plus install) and works extreamly well. Anyone have a count on fatalities for the year?
DBCOOPER replied to CSpenceFLY's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You know if general aviation pilots were clipping skydivers doing high performance landings because they were cool and looked awsome and they thought they had the skills to do it without hurting anybody or killing themselves we would have skydivers burning airplanes.... I don't know about auto seatbelts, but airplane seatbelts certainly "age" poorly. Auto glass has uv protection built into it. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.

I have the solution.Just have them wear this patch on their left shoulder of their jump suit, and then I can make an informed decision on getting on the plane. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea. -

Depends on how you look at it. There is no reason to be hooked out of the sky. Seems a little more premeditated then a careless act. I could believe that if it was a rare occurence, or the first twenty times this has happened. Quote no matter how very, very careful I am myself, there's always the "chance" that someone else will take me out in a canopy collision How very, very true. My first post here in 2002 was looking for information about a friend of mine that had been killed at Lake Wales. I say killed, not died, because thats what happened. It would be no different if someone got up in the plane and cut his risers off with a hook knife and pushed him out. The end result is the same. Until we, as a group, make it socially unacceptable to fly anything other than a predictable standard pattern, when there are other canopies in the air,the death toll will continue to rise.
