I have had a PD230 and a PD210 in a early 90s J3. I also had a Spectre 190 in one. The spectre was new and it was a real bitch to get in the bag. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.

Traffic pattern. Did I do the right thing?
DBCOOPER replied to Tuna-Salad's topic in Safety and Training
I don't know why people feel the need to spiral in the pattern. Just cut away to lose that altitude, turn to the direction you want to be on final and open your reserve. That way you only have to clear the airspace directly below you not 360 degrees around you. Much safer for those sharing the pattern with you. Numbers Every time it shuts down the numbers drain out. Thats why you have to send it back every four years, to get it refilled. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.

Aircraft Maintenance for Jump Aircraft; (Your Thoughts)
DBCOOPER replied to totter's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I know a DZO who in the spring calls the local FSDO and request a inspection of his aircraft and logs. He doesn't want to have any issues being ramped during the season. I cringe at the thought of asking the feds to come out but its a good way to foster a relationship with them, and give me a little comfort that at least they looked at it. Here I sit on New Years eve, winds 310@20G33 temp -9C waiting for some drunk to cream a tree,so I can go out and dodge mountains in snow squalls, just so I can have an extra day off in February... Its so worth it. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.
