Seems to me to be a codec issue with the MP4 format and windoze movie maker in vista. You can convert to a different format with this http://majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=6304&file=1&evp=b393274a38f868d2d2eddb3f4db49bac and it seems to work. Quicktime will play the r1 setting video but if you use r5 is does the choppy thing. I don't know if Quicktime Pro fixes that issue on not. I find that if I take my Z1 off at the same time as the seat belt and wait till right before the door is opened to put it back on I get much less fogging/icing. Your milage may vary..... I watched one of my canopy students pound in really hard (PLF saved him serious injury) while under a Tempo 210. He flared at a good altitude, speed and cadence, the canopy simply didn't have any flare to it. He had even completed practice flares and some flat turns under the canopy before coming in to land. The canopy simply sucked. I have two jumps on a Tempo 170 demo and fortunately both of them were water jumps. I flew like a truck with four flat tires and even in a 25 knot ocean breeze the flare plain out sucked. Except when you have the pilot telling them how much more they will learn with the extra altitude...

Since the exhausts are all European registered, I venture a guess that they are done to meet Europe's much more stringent noise regulations. Don't you ever get tired of being wrong? Its for students that get cold feet....

Group Member pledge about pilot and maintance
DBCOOPER replied to DBCOOPER's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Ed Scott is attempting to advert actions by the feds concerning aircraft maintance and pilot training by having group members sign a pledge which includes specific statements concerning which maintance program is used and who will be doing it. I hope this action will help placate the feds but I don't think it goes far enough as the DZO that is not willing to comply with the current Federal Aviation Requlations will just lie on the form, and continue on knowing that the odds of being inspected by the feds are slim at best, unless there is an incident. I think that it is pretty sad that it has come to this and I don't know what the right answer is, so I put it out for dicussion here. Pilot training is a whole nutter dicussion...... Just in time for our 5th wedding anniversary of getting married in the skyvan.

Are we talking common sense or regs here? I wouldn't get on an airplane with the a/s indicator inop. But if the "magnetic direction indicator" took a leak I wouldn't hesitate to get on either as the pilot or as a jumper. Here’s a wild concept I use - I actually know what the uppers are doing each day and throughout the day ... and recheck the uppers when I get down as they might be stronger than I was told. Just curious as to how you know the actual winds aloft and how you check them on the ground. Wings Vision container closing flap query
DBCOOPER replied to degeneration's topic in Gear and Rigging
I recently got a micron that would look just like that and was concerned that it was made incorrectly for the size that I had ordered. Stopped in and saw the nice people in Deland and they explained that I had the closing loop to tight and that was what was causing the left flap to be pulled in to tight and interfereing with the main pin cover flap. With the micron the first three flap grommets line up on top of each other and the fourth flap is offset to the left just a bit and allows for adjustment in canopy size.
