I have never had intention to harm or implicate anyone, as stated frequently. I am on the side of truth, and not willing to intentionally mis-state facts. As Carr stated, if true there is no case. I know this to be the situation without question. These are a bunch of good guys, not criminals, a catch 22. Is telling the real truth wrong? I was taught to always tell the truth, it is the best thing to do. Now the truth as a good thing is not a good thing??? HUH?? Explain?? more garble from Bob, you need to go public Bob if you think your story is true! I call it 100% garbage! I gave you an option to go public and you refused! then Lawyers come into play and you disappear? you are full of crap Bob, period, dot, end! if you are not full of crap! you need to back your statements! which you have always had trouble doing! none of the names you implicate has had any chance what so ever to speak on there behalf! that is one side Bob! Bob, you have nothing to do with truth, if you were trying to be honest you would have put this story out into the public, instead of farting around on a parachute jump site. you have sworn a million times to your truth, once the lawyers get a hold of you, the real truth of Bob Knoss will surface!! you have constantly implicated public figures involving them in a FELONY by stating they are covering up and with holding evidence. you have repeatedly named Rataczak as TOG and being part of how the money was to be split. you keep forgetting you are leaving a trail on this thread and implicating people such as O'hara, Himmelsbach and continue to claim Richard Floyd McCoy is still live. what you tried to tell the FBI and Grey a while back is nothing to what you state today! your time is coming to an end very soon! one way or another. your failure to comply to direct questions tells the story! what will you do once the Lawyers confront you Bob? go silent again????????? you better watch what you say Knoss, people are watching you from the outside!!!! stay away like you have been doing !!! The PM's are out of hand. The e-mail came to me, period. No you can not see it, no you can not e-mail the person. If true, I will gladly hep them. If true, a couple of you will be served. If true, a third party who has been watching you all in this thread will "win". It is just a mater of truth. If you told a fable, stretched the truth, or insulted or implicated some one in in e FELONY, you made the mistake and will live with it. If the e-mail is true. I for one hope it is. did they know he was selling Insurance? not every police department or DA's office is going to tattle tale everything against any given subject. Laws are always a challenge and change from State to State, you could be arrested in Ohio for simple assault and get a fine, you could then do the same here in Florida and get 90 days in the hole!! I know people down here who have been arrested in one county and wanted just 50 miles away in another County and they refused extradition. I was in New Orleans on Burbon street about a year after they changed the drinking laws to 21, the sign read 19 at the entrance to bar, two cops were standing inside and I asked them about the sign, his reply was "we don't take the liking of that law down here", Miami Hurricanes were playing Alabama in the Sugar bowl. (very true story) you need to understand that some things that happened to Duane were not as strange as you think they are! I just read your post above, as I stated and 99 stated as well, the FBI has multiple sets of Duane's prints, it doesn't matter if they missed 50 of his past arrest records, they had enough prints to verify who he really was...Duane L Weber B- 6/18/24..... Jo, the prints are stored at the FBI, it's not there job to inform the public if a Felon is employed, the employer will have to find out himself. again, we are talking about the 70's VS today, the laws have changed and are a lot more severe today. you now have the case number Jo, it should be pretty easy to find out what happened to him, back in this period, I would take a gamble and say a fine was given, but that's a guess, I did try and find it online but records don't go back that far online JSO website "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' In 1924, the FBI’s Identification Division was established by authority of the United States congressional budget appropriation bill for the Department of Justice. The identification division was created to provide a central repository of criminal identification data for law enforcement agencies throughout the United States. The original collection of fingerprint records contained 810,188 records. After its creation, hundreds of thousands of new records were added to this collection yearly, and by the early 1960s the FBI’s criminal file had grown to about 15 million individuals. This was in addition to the 63 million records in the civilian file, much of which was the result of military additions from World War II and the Korean conflict. Almost all of the criminal file’s 15 million individuals contained 10 rolled fingerprints per card for a total of 150 million single fingerprints. Incoming records were manually classified and searched against this file using the FBI’s modified Henry system of classification. Approximately 30,000 cards were searched daily. The time and human resources to accomplish this daily workload continued to grow. As a card entered the system, a preliminary gross pattern classification was assigned to each fingerprint by technicians. The technicians could complete approximately 100 fingerprint cards per hour. Complete classification and searching against the massive files could only be accomplished at an average rate of 3.3 cards per employee per hour. Obviously, as the size of the criminal file and the daily workload increased, the amount of resources required continued to grow. Eventually, classification extensions were added to reduce the portion of the criminal file that needed to be searched against each card. Nonetheless, the manual system used for searching and matching fingerprints was approaching the point of being unable to handle the daily workload. what does this have to do with DB Cooper? you put a lot of blame on everyone Jo, is this fair? they have dozens of his prints! regardless of one they don't, Carr did mention "including his other names" I'm not trying to be rude but this doesn't make any sense to linking him to Cooper, "information from a bunch of people posting on a thread!" this is your words and is this not what you are doing as well? very confusing Jo! "Pros and Cons - but the consensus at that time was the central system was NOT fully function and not all states complied and the system was NOT fully operational. " "NOT one "authority" could understand HOW Weber got arrested in FL with a record and with a gun in 1976 and it NOT hit the central system of prints. I am the ONE who TOLD the FBI about this incident at a later date. Perhaps they did investigate it at that later date but did NOT tell me what the finding where. " very confusing Jo he arrest is in the system (the only way the arrests get into the system is if the arresting authority forwards the prints and charging info) and I am looking at it right now. On 06/27/1976 Duane was arrested by the Jasksonville (Fl) Sheriff's Office for Carrying Concealed Firearm, Receiving Stolen Property and DWI. JSO case number 76-278392. Jo, I'm really having trouble following you, Carr explained this. Carr: The prints were forwarded to the FBI just like all of the other 26 arrests under his various alias names (prints included) they then took all of the prints and made a master set, why would the retired FBI agents tell you different and why take there word over active agents? who exactly told you they used his 1945 prints and what difference would this be? just like the names you think they have misspelled were done by Duane to cover his tracks, this is why you see the same names spelled different. this is criminal 101 what exactly are you implying about John Collins years before the hijacking and what purpose would this prove? "Where is this REPORT - you indicated it was in the thread - I never saw it! The list of name sounds like they didn't as for the spelling. John Claudian Weber was his brothers name." Jo, the post's made by Carr were from this thread, pages 80 and beyond. Ckret Jumps License In sport : Jun 3, 2008, 12:24 PM Post #1995 of 36814 (5942 views) Shortcut Registered: Sep 7, 2007 Posts: 522 Shutter says: my guess would be that Duane changed the name spelling in order to have other options, my past (long time ago) I would leave out my middle name when I would get pulled over, this was enough to hide who I really was and not show the bench warrants out for me for not having a drivers license, I would get a ticket again, but, throw it away because it was not really me and the address was not mine either so they are chasing a ghost! back then it was pretty easy to fool them! I also used my brothers name because he was squeaky clean, however he was not amused once this was discovered you must understand after they have done a lot of checking on Duane and coming up with nothing but false names and time in prison and prints and DNA not matching they are not going to dig any further. you keep reporting that Duane had guns, there is no indication that Cooper was armed! IMHO Duane doesn't fit the profile to this case. you claim yourself Jo that the prints and DNA might not be Cooper's, so where are we going trying to establish Duane's? I understand how frustrating this must be, but looking from our stand point it makes sense to us more than what you can not see. keep in mind we are talking about the 70's. Judges were not as strict as they were today, a DWI was not looked at the same way as today, I'm sure there is a simple reason to all of these charges. Car explained that they have all 26 arrest records with prints. records can and have been lost or incorrect, even today. I found a picture you have not posted in a long time of Duane at age 44 in 1968 (see photo) IMHO Duane does not fit the profile. his younger pictures fit the profile, but, not the important ones. I mentioned this before and found others questioned the same, Duane seems to always have glasses on in 95% of the pictures leading one to believe he always needed them. If he was selling Insurance as a convicted felon this is hardly the mistake of the FBI and would go unnoticed if the employer didn't do a background check. even today people can slip through the cracks because when a background check is done online they can pay for a certain amount of years back or a full background check, it is very easy not to check the box (yes) on a application for employment asking if you have ever been convicted of a felony, this was the same problem they had with thinking every bank in the world was looking for the 20's the FBI gave Cooper. "Duane had that resume done in 1979 and it remained in our possession and his possession until I turned it over to the FBI." 1979 to late 1990's how many other people touched this document that is 16 plus years old at the time? prints get smeared. looking from the outside in I just don't see anything linking Duane to Cooper, you wanted someone to look at this, I have and remain solid on the findings. this is my opinion only and hope you understand "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' I don't know, still working on the flight path, have some weather issues to pan out. perhaps 99 has a good idea on checking all of Tena and going over Catepillar island. If the money didn't come from the bottom of the Columbia and was not planted, it's very possible the final clue could rest in these area's??? I don't know. I guess there is only one way to find out.....check the islands...$$$$$ "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' seems Duane had lots of different names as I thought. I found this post from Carr I'll vouch for the Collins name for Jo, Weber used the following names: Duane Weber Duane L Weber Duane Lorin Weber Duane Larin Weber Duane Loren Weber John Collins John Chalk Collins John Claudin Collins John Claudian Collins He also used different dates of birth and Socials. Weber was arrested 26 times under the various names provided (arrests that were submitted to the FBI, there could have been more but for minor offenses) starting on 12/22/1942 and ending on 06/27/1976. All 26 arrest would have been processed by the sheriff's department were the arrest occurred or the United States Marshal Service (he committed a few federal crimes). One set of prints would have been maintained by the local arresting authority the other copy sent to the FBI. When the FBI receives the prints they create a "Master Set" of prints related to each person that prints are submitted for. If there are multiple sets for one person, the techs will use the best prints from each set to make one best Master Set. The odds that Weber was able to have someone on the inside of the FBI to alter this process is not a reality. Someone suggested comparing all prints taken from Weber (AKA) et al to those recovered from flight 305. All of the prints are at the FBI, or at least the 26 I referenced. a later post by Carr: Jo, the arrest is in the system (the only way the arrests get into the system is if the arresting authority forwards the prints and charging info) and I am looking at it right now. On 06/27/1976 Duane was arrested by the Jasksonville (Fl) Sheriff's Office for Carrying Concealed Firearm, Receiving Stolen Property and DWI. JSO case number 76-278392. The prints were forwarded to the FBI just like all of the other 26 arrests under his various alias names. Jo, I have located the investigative file on Duane which is chalk full of information that i am willing to provide you, I'll start with this: On July 24 1997 our lab received the hand printed memo you have made mention of, Duane's resume and a set of your fingerprints for elimination. On 11/06/1998, the lab reported that there were 19 prints of value discovered on the resume, of which 5 were yours. The remaining 14 prints of value were compared to the known prints of Duane Weber with negative results (meaning they didn't belong to Duane). The 14 unknown prints from the resume where compared to the unknown latent prints recovered from flight 305 with negative results. The known prints of Duane Weber where compared to those of the unknown latent prints recovered from flight 305 with negative results. No prints of comparison value were recovered from the hand printed memo you supplied. I now have and will keep at my desk the file on Duane. There are over 500 hundred pages in the file; his tax returns, court filings, interviews with relatives, results of the lab tests........ and so on. If you want more answers to your questions I have them. 500 pages doesn't sound like a "quick botched investigation" "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' If Duane changed his name to Collins in 88, why would this link him to Cooper? 16 years later, the FBI had no clue who he was until you came forward, why would he change his name if they were not looking for him as Cooper/Weber, must of been another reason why he changed it IMHO. I think the question is, what does John Collins have in common with DB Cooper? "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' Feb 26 1990 Hidden safe deposit box opened. #1664143 Mar 8 1990 Attempt to obtain a drivers license in Santa Rosa County. Mar 8, 1990 Drives to Escambia County and obtains the John Collins license with not problem in that county. Mar 9, 1990 Highway Patrol knocks on my door with his picture explaining what happened in Milton the day before. Mar 9, 1990 Duane is arrested, but not booked and with the Dr.s intervention placed under 72 hour observation. They returned his gun to him???? If the safe deposit box was open in 90, why would the FBI even know about this?? Duane's biggest hurdle is the fact of him being a career criminal, it would be natural for him to change his name, nobody was looking for him as Cooper so changing his name would be for another reason. sounds like he was "Baker acted" and if nothing was discovered during his stay, they would release the gun to him as long as everything was legal, but, he was a convicted criminal and should not have owned a gun, but nothing out of the ordinary really. possession of a firearm by a convicted felon carries a 5 years sentence, probably more today. Duane having a lot of money at times should be obvious since he was a criminal, sadly I just can't see the FBI putting a lot of time into checking 20/30 years before the crime with little information or evidence to keep them looking. I realize you have put a lot of time into this, but I just don't see anything to catch my eye, ya never know though "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' I understand speculation, but she went way over that by stating where he landed, Marla has always been very confident that her uncle was the hijacker, I have yet to see any confirmed evidence pointing to this. her family has not backed anything she says, her mother only states "I always had a hunch" her brother who was there also tells a different story, I am leaning 99% that she is fabricating her story VS speculation IMO. Personally I think she likes attention more than the money she thought she would get by doing this, sometimes the truth is harder to swallow, how much rope are we to give her in this "story" or when is time to finally say the story is not true? the public can be very giving and at the same time turn on you in a second, Marla found this out just a couple of months after going public. we have one picture of LD around the age of DB and one picture of him much older, where are all of the memories she can remember so vivid? no family photo's nothing? I found a lot of problems with her story trying to make it work, it just does not add up, even if you don't believe Jo, you can rest assure she has piles of files showing proof of her attempt, Marla had one little picture with the strap...nothing else, except, speculation! it's possible she is mixing up another story as some have claimed but I'm not buying that either. I truly believe some of the evidence is still around be it in the woods or near the river or possibly in someone's attic waiting to be uncovered, I'm not that confident we have any idea who he really is........... "Maybe it looks bad the a handful of people" while I was checking into her story last year I found that statement to be false as well, lots of people made comments on You Tube, websites stating they didn't like the fact of her doing a book before any real conclusions were made! lots a of people didn't believe Cooper would only change his first name including myself. I spoke with the gentleman from Strangehistory.org he kept telling me it was not Sisters she was talking about, LD lived in Sparks, Bend and North East California, those three places were in the flight path, but, they would have not had a problem looking for the money since these locations were hundred of miles away in some locations as to where they were looking for Cooper. I can not say it enough, her story does not hold water any better than what Knoss is claiming! both show the same signs when confronted....lots of anger. nether one has shown any real proof, a strap and a picture is hardly proof of anything! she claimed he landed on flat farmland, how in the world did he get all bloody and battered? because the FBI claimed he would probably be injured if he survived! most suspects to date keep stating there suspect was injured! if he beat the odds and made it, why does he have to be injured? "She would not know where her uncle landed" I have to disagree with this statement, this is from a phone interview Marla gave. She went on to explain that the reports of the jump had been misreported. The weather was bad on the night of November 24th but D.B. Cooper told the pilot at what speed, altitude and direction to fly. L.D. Cooper worked as a surveyor and knew this area very well. It has been reported that D.B. Cooper jumped over a very heavily wooded area when, in all actuality, he jumped over farmland and had planned his jump to put himself inside of a six mile area which was only seven miles from the home of L.D. Cooper. The parachute that was requested by D.B. Cooper was not steerable which would make his drop dependent solely on the wind to carry his direction. LD was not a surveyor in 1971, this was later in his life! on another interview she clearly stated they had to go back into the woods and find the money? same interview.... I asked Miss Cooper about Dan Cooper’s attitude. He was very polite and cordial to flight attendant Florence Shaffner to whom he passed the note and from whom he ordered his drinks. At no point during the hijacking was he ever loud, angry or aggressive toward the passengers or crew. Miss Cooper relayed to me that he had not been raised that way and it wasn’t in him to be that way towards other people. He was a nice, easy going guy who smiled a lot. Marla made a different comment stating he was trying to commit suicide doing the hijacking, how does that fit a "easy going guy who smiled a lot" if he was trying to commit suicide, why would he have Dewey on the ground? I see a charming woman telling a charming story, the problem is that the charming story is just that.....a story! people are known to do strange things for money or attention! Knoss shows a similar pattern in which I believe he also seeks attention with his "story" 377 you should be able to see this with the remarks she made about the case being closed, shows once again more stretching of the "story" "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' No matter what you tell them, they refuse to believe you" Agent Carr FBI

Care to explain the MILF acronym? I am far from being PC but don't you think publicly rating Marla's desirability as someone you'd like to fk is a bit disrespectful to her? She was pretty brave to present at the symposium, kinda like walking into the lions den. She didn't have handlers and didn't dodge questions. Maybe she has misinterpreted childhood memories and maybe she sought media attention, but I thought she handled herself pretty well. Sure she was attractive but she wasn't using sex to sell her story. Do I think LD was DBC? Nope. Do I think Marla was a cynical liar seeking to profit from a fake story? Nope. Flame away. I have a Nomex jumpsuit. 377 perhaps it was a bit harsh to some, I don't like to call people liars, but, her story does not fit once you go through it, the magazine, well the best thing to do IMO would be to gather all the facts of the case find the weak ones and run with it. she seems to know a awful lot about the case ( no crime there) but found it strange that McCoy landed 5 miles from his house and according to Marla LD landed 6! getting back to the magazines, this also grew from one to several, I just can't buy into an 8 year old girl remembering all of this in detail! she was never "hypnotized" from what I heard on a interview was her stating she was told to go in a cool dark place and think, something to that effect. for someone who claims to have the answer to the worlds only unsolved hijacking, she sure as melted into the background! personally I would be hard at work preparing everything I have found out about a Family member involved in something like this! the house that was in Sisters is way to small as to what Marla was describing by stating LD and Dewey had rooms there, no other records were found about property owned there. old timers recall the house I showed as well as to where they lived. If Marla is not being truthful about her story, well this would also be a kick in the face to millions of people who believed her story! the last place LD was before he died was owned by Dale Miller who stated LD's wife had taken everything he owned which I found not to be true either, she took his name off the deed to the house several years after he died, the fact of her alone not talking also brings red flags into play! Now for his Birth, once again we do not see Marla coming forward explaining why his headstone reads 9/17/1931 when his school & Military records show a different story? The Family tree also shows this! the cemetery also claims to have two different dates? these are just some of the questions that need answers, so as you say yourself, where is Marla? the comment was directed as a joke but I can see where it might be disrespectful but reflecting a moment, where has Marla been respectful to many in this field, I understand people think she was ran off, but, if she is being honest about her story she shouldn't let people's remarks about her story get in her way! If you had the key to the worlds only unsolved hijacking, would you sit on it after a wild Public free for all? IMHO I think Marla scrambled towards the end because of the book and started adding things to her story in order to keep the fire lit hoping it would pay off, If I'm wrong then so be it, If I offended you by the statement I apologize to you or anyone on here! as for Marla's personality, I'm not sure if she would find it disrespectful, but I could be wrong. again it was just a joke that seems to have been taken wrong. I don't know how much credence I would give to the fact that no one saw "mud huts". In 1971, Nepal and surrounds looks like a pretty big place with varied landscape and living conditions to me.....http://vimeo.com/23175499 that was a common structure way before the 70's in a lot of Countries, gotta say myth busted on this one "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' I found nothing Hypnotizing about Marla other than on a MILF scale of 1-10 she would be about a 6! unfortunately she made more mistakes than Knoss, records show that granny had a very small house in Sisters Oregon (see photo) no other records were found. Granny was also very ill around the time of the hijacking (not in town baking pies) she gave two separate locations as to where he jumped. (wooded area.....flat farm land) she still hasn't explained why LD was born 9/17/31 and brother 8/11/31 all records indicate a 1933 birth. this makes LD only 38 in 1971. when you put yourself in the public eye you can rest assure that you also open yourself up to judgement and people trying to validate your claims, this includes contacting members of the Family and friends, all part of the game. not long after Marla's story came out Sisters did there own investigation and was disappointed at the conclusions "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.'
