Do a search on Yelapa, Mexico. I haven't been there (yet) but I have a friend who goes there once a year to get away from everything... and from his pictures and stories about the place, it sounds like a great place to "recharge the batteries".

And yes, everyone I hung out with in the 80's (including the guys) used a ton of hairspray.

That was never one of my favorite Alice songs, but when I saw one of his shows at the House of Blues in New Orleans, I was in the front row... and when he started that song, he got down on one knee and reached out to me... so I gave him my hand and he sang the whole first part of the song directly to me.. That was so cool because he has always been one of my favorite artists.... And he puts on a great show.

Outdoors, I've got a grape vine, nectarine and plum and grapefruit trees, ferns, jasmine, roses, lots of succulents, alyssum, Algerian ivy... Indoors, I have lots of ivy, 3 carnivorous plants, more succulents, African violets, purple heart, and the plants in our freshwater fishtank... He was such a perfect artist to cover that song. The first time I heard his cover, I was half asleep on the couch (and probably half drunk), with the tv still going... So the next day I kept trying to figure out if I had really heard Johnny Cash doing a NIN song or if it was a dream... and I really wasn't sure til I heard it again later. He also does a beautiful version of the Beatles' "In My Life" on that same album.

That news story doesn't really give enough information (such as did she break into his house, did he have any kind of relationship with her, had they had sex before he went to sleep, etc.?)... but I would hope they had sufficient evidence to prove it was against his will since they sentenced her to nine months in prison. I sort of agree with what you're saying about men and women being different... I think there are a lot more guys who wouldn't feel violated from being woken up by an unexpected blowjob from one of their female friends (assuming she hadn't broken into his house) than there are women who wouldn't feel violated by the reverse situation. But still, a man should have just as much right to report sexual assault as a woman does (without being called a sissy).

Yep, we got married in my pickup and my friends got married in their convertible with the top down. No blood test required, just a marriage license which you can get quickly at the Marriage Bureau in Vegas (which is open 24 hours on weekends and holidays).

Rich and I got married at the Little White Wedding Chapel's Drive-Thru Tunnel of Love. We had Elvises skateboarding around us, but that was only because there was another wedding party there and they were all dressed like Elvis. And then we went there again on our first anniversary to witness some friends getting married at the same place (along with a rather wild anniversary party at Club Rain).

The weather in October is usually pretty nice... warm (not hot) during the day, and maybe a little bit chilly at night. The Flyboyz usually have their film festival at the end of Oct. (or is it the first of Nov.???) I'm not sure what else is going on at that time...

I just had a look at the weather though, and it looks like today is the only day it will be raining in the next week (if they're accurate)... and it's been dry for a little while, so you'll probably be ok.

Oh, I am so tempted to go on Sunday... with NIN headlining... It's only a couple of hours from here... but I really need to spend most of the weekend studying. (I wish I could figure out how to balance "having a life" with going to school!) Anyway, have fun! Don't let the hippies steal your sleeping bags.

I have one on my lower back...and as a person who absolutely hates needles...it really wasn't that bad... Trying to imagine getting a tattoo anywhere on my body, I would think the back would be about the least painful place. I only have one tattoo and it is on the back of my shoulder (which I guess would be considered the back?); it didn't hurt too much, only enough that I sort of liked it. I have been wanting to get one on my lower back (for many years now!) but I just haven't been able to think of anything that I want as a permanent addition to my body.... Getting a tattoo on the foot seems like it would tickle quite a bit... I think that might drive me crazy.
