Sugar gliderz are so cute... I've always wanted one, but I always have cats and I don't think the two would mix very well. (The sugar glider might make a tasty cat treat.) I think they probably require a bit more care than a cat, but since I've never had one I can't really say... They are so cute though!

I have a long day tomorrow, and a test I'm not prepared for because I've been messing around with doctors the last couple of days and not feeling so well. Sorry, not a very good bedtime story. But ooh, I just remembered that I now have some good painkillers from one of those doctor visits. Maybe that will help me sleep...

I would say that I would spank you for that, but something tells me you might enjoy it... Wow, cat bites are a major pain in the ass (literally)! I just got home a little while ago from the ER. The swelling had gotten worse today, and when I called the urgent care center that I had been to yesterday and told them what was going on, they said I should go to the ER. So I went there and they gave me a huge dose of antibiotics into my left hip, and now I am walking with a limp... But now it looks like the swelling has gone down quite a bit. Funny, I've been obsessed with getting another Bengal kitty for the last few weeks... and now I'm not so sure I want another cat! (Just kidding, I'll probably end up getting one anyway.)

CA puts up with all the out of staters flowing in when things are booming - you guys can deal with the backwash when business goes the other way. How did you think our cost of living got so high? I was mostly kidding (except for the part about Austin being much more affordable)... I don't really mind Californians moving to Austin; usually they fit right in... Just as most Austinites seem to fit in in California... Both places are known for having lots of weirdos (which is why I like both places). But I have a certain affection for Austin that makes it my home, so I'll end up moving back there one of these days...

This is probably true. I don't think it will affect business too much... People will just go outside to smoke, and maybe it will even bring some new customers (those who currently avoid bars because of the smoke). However, I still think it should be up to the owner of the bar. And I know a few Austin musicians who don't like touring in California since they can't smoke on stage... so I'll bet they're real happy about Austin (where they spend most of their time playing) now having a ban. But it looks like they were outvoted.... As someone else mentioned, I've also noticed the rapid rate in which Austin has been taken over by Californians... I guess it's because Austin is such a great place and the cost of living is so much less than in California. And here I am, an Austinite stuck in Cali at the moment... I just hope those bastards don't ruin my town before I move back!

Wow, I can't believe that went through in Austin. It should be up to the bar owners whether they want to allow smoking in their bar or not. (Oh, and I am not even a smoker.) I wonder how long that will last....

That's what I was thinking. The "filling in" part of getting a tattoo was what hurt the most for me, but that had nothing to do with what color it was. And it's a good thing that that was the last part of it; just when I was starting to think I couldn't stand the pain anymore, it was done.

That's pretty cool... I just had the Body Worlds people send me the donor packet out of curiosity, but I probably won't actually sign up for it. My husband and I are both more interested in something like Eternal Reefs (http://www.eternalreefs.com/index.html). I sort of like the idea of being cremated, just to be absolutely certain there is nothing still going on in my body (yeah I know, that's pretty silly).

Actually I think I now have a baby cat growing in my forehead, because my forehead looks pregnant. I have been injected with the seed of one of the lapcats of Satan. So maybe the swelling will go down by then (or maybe I'll be dead by then, who knows)... It's always fun to meet new clients with a massive lump and a bandaid on your head. Oh, and the doc didn't have to report anything to animal control. He just asked me what happened and if it was my cat and how old the cat was... But he seemed to agree that it was my fault instead of the cat's. Maybe I should just get "DUMBASS" tattooed on my head once this infection heals.

Well I gave up on waiting to hear from my regular doctor's office and went to the urgent care center instead (because I was starting to freak out about it). The guy who looked at it said that it was already infected, so he cleaned it up, gave me a tetanus shot (since I couldn't remember when I last had one) and he gave me an antibiotic prescription (which I am now waiting for). He also told me to follow up with my regular doctor at the end of the week to make sure it's ok. Grr, now I feel like crap and I am really stressed out... My next three weeks are going to be so busy, and I don't have time for this! Ok, I'll quit whining now... Hopefully it will be funny in a few weeks...

Yeah, you have to do something pretty stupid (like I did) to get a normal housecat to bite you. I almost got attacked by a pit bull once for no reason other than just walking down the street. (What kind of idiot lets their pit bull run around loose in the neighborhood???) And I had a scar on my hip for a long time where some hyper little weiner dog bit me (also unprovoked)... So I don't think one cat bite is going to turn me into a dog person.... Well, unless they end up having to amputate my head - then I might be pissed.

Yeah, I'm a little concerned about that... But I also don't want to risk getting an infection... I think that if they do want to check my cat, they'll find he's ok... It was completely my fault because of the way that I picked him up. Oh well, it's too late now because I've already left a message about it for my doctor... just waiting for her to call me back.

So I woke up this morning with a small but somewhat painful lump on my head where he bit me. I think I'm going to skip class today and go see my doctor (I think it's ok, but just to be safe)... I am such an idiot... I've had cats most of my life and never had one bite me, and I know better than to pick them up when they are pissed off. Don't know what I was thinking... Anyhow, I'm gonna feel like a total dork going to work with a lump on my head tomorrow.

Yeah, I've been thinking about that... I put alcohol on it right away, but I know cat bites are bad... I'm just still in shock that one of my cats would bite me! That has never happened before... (though I guess it was my fault for trying to pick him up when he was distressed).
