The Liberal Party of Canada thought it was funny when they posted a spoofed assassination picture of PM Stephen Harper on their official website in December of 2009. It was only after the outrage surfaced from the general public that they pulled it down and then went on to say "the picture does not represent our views". But one has to ask, if a spoofed assassination picture of their political opponent does not represent the views of the Liberal Party of Canada, WTF was it doing on their official website? http://www.canada.com/news/Liberals+apologize+photo+showing+Harper+being+assassinated/2342953/story.html Oh but the desire to see Harper murdered is not only on the minds of some Liberals. Take a look at what this guy wrote. http://img257.imageshack.us/img257/7474/harperbullet1vj9.jpg Of course there is no reference to any political party in this guys rant, so I can't blame the Liberals here. But I think it is safe to say that this fellow is NOT a fan of PM Harper and would be very happy to see the PM assassinated. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

My comments were in reference to numerous CBC TV personalities who felt the need to bring up Sarah Palin, her website and her affiliation to the Tea Party movement as if they were related to this event. They (the CBC) does not appear to be dumb enough to post a direct accusation that the gunman was indeed a member of the Tea Party on their website today. But in virtually every page they have on their website concerning this event, they do talk about Sarah Palin. Why? I am NOT a Palin fan, she is NOT someone I want to see as president. But what does she have to do with this event? Oh but if anyone does want some laughs, just read some of the "I hate America" comments by the loyal CBC blogging lemmings. http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2011/01/09/arizona-shooting.html#socialcomments Funny when the Liberal Party of Canada posted a spoofed assassination picture of PM Harper on their official website in December of 2009, the CBC managed to bury that story within hours of it surfacing. http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/18003 Why is it that whenever you try to remind the CBC that their pals down at the Liberal Party thought it was funny to post spoofed assassination pictures of their political opponents, the CBC censors you? No if people don't believe that the CBC isn't bias, maybe I can interest them in some beach front vacation property in Bangladesh. Back on topic ... not enough is known about what motivated Mr Loughner to carry out his murderous crime. From what I can tell he is not talking and the cookie crumbs he left on YouTube point more towards himself being some sort of anarchist versus being affiliated with the Ms Palin, the Tea Party or anyone else. It would be nice to know that as much as politicians (from all parties) suck ass, they need not worry about being assassinated for carrying on a public life. I am glad you recognize this guy as a loony. Personally I don't think enough is known about him yet to say exactly what his motives were (as of yesterday, he was not talking). On his YouTube channel he did voice displeasure with the current US government and that was all the CBC needed up here in Canada to tell all their loyal lemmings that he is a Tea Bagger acting on commands from Sarah Palin all because of her website. But the CBC has never been known to be an ethical media source. The CBC has an agenda and they will do everything in their power to pursue this agenda. Of course the CBC is irrelevant in the USA ... but no doubt people will be looking for any way to associate this disturbed individual to their political opponents. People should wait for the hard evidence to surface that he was actually associated with this group or that group before they assume that he was. After all, we should all know the saying "Don't assume anything otherwise you risk making an ASS out of U and ME". Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Why do people get so upset about faith?
CanuckInUSA replied to turtlespeed's topic in Speakers Corner
Limp wristed soldiers should be allowed to serve their country if this is what they want to do. Being limp wristed (as well as their transgendered cousins) is NOT a life choice, it is something people are born with. But one thing that does give me the "he-bee-gee-bees" is the thought of two men having anal sex and well that is something you don't want to have going on in the barracks or anywhere else in the military theater. BTW ... how did Limb wristers get into this "faith" thread? Don't ask, don't tell should apply in more than one place. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

As an agnostic I do believe in "Freedom of Religion" where people are allowed to practice their religious beliefs free from being persecuted by others. But I also believe in "Freedom from Religion" where people keep their religious beliefs to themselves. However I am a strong believer of personal freedoms and you will notice that many (not all) atheists who believe in social engineering are the biggest violators of "Freedom of Religion" as these people seem to think everyone must be engineered into being the same person as they are. I honestly do NOT understand how religious people can be so certain that they are 100% correct in their beliefs, just as I honestly do NOT understand how atheists can be 100% certain there is no God(s). The Universe is an awful big place which is beyond my agnostic comprehension and if we are alone out there (as the "Burble" says we are) it is an awful waste of space. In summary (generic comments not directed at one person): - Let people believe in what they believe in. - Don't force your beliefs on others. - Stop trying to socially engineer me into being something I am not. LOL ... been there, done that. I don't want to take the focus away from your video since this thread is about your "Living the Dream" experience documented by your video. But a few years back I made similar videos. I have not watched them much lately, but I have probably watched them more than everyone else, definitely more than 20 times LOL. "This is the Day" video, which is a mixture of skydiving and BASE. "The B Team" video, made to document some fun days in the BASE world. "Bellas II" video, which documented my 2004 Eloy Holiday Boogie experience. So true ... life has not always been easy as we go through tough times and the occasional heart break. Tomorrow is another day and we choose what face to put on every morning. Do we put on the grumpy face, the sad face or do we choose to take a risk and put on that happy face. When I was in High School one of my teachers gave us something to read. It was something an author wrote back in the 19th Century. It was interesting as everything the author had predicted had come true in the 20th century and the final item on this author's list was that the world come to an end in 1984. I took three things out of this experience: 1) Every day since 1984 is a bonus day. 2) I am dating myself since I graduated from HS before 1984. 3) What the hell was my teaching thinking, giving their students such nonsense to read. I don't know about you people, but I am not planning on living forever. I do however have a hunch that my end will come well before the world ends. John Stossel-Top 10 Politicians’ Promises Gone Wrong
CanuckInUSA replied to jgoose71's topic in Speakers Corner
Wherever did you get John Stossel promoting anarchy from this video? Did you bother to watch this video before you decided to call out a certain demographic as "idiots"? I am going to go out on a limb and say NO, you did NOT bother to watch this video. Why do I say this? Because in the video there is a part where Mr Stossel actually criticizes rich baseball club owners (among many other things he speaks about in this video) and since you are one of the biggest "rich people must not be given a free ride" advocates around here (even though you yourself are rich, the poor and the middle class do NOT own an airplane like you do ... ROFLMAO). Next time watch the video before you claim people who did watch it, to be idiots. Oh and say "Hi" to Michelle for us when you next brush elbows with your elitist White House pals. It's a shame she didn't get her way when she wanted to host the 2016 Summer Olympics with tax payers money after her and her messiah hubby personally lobbied the IOC to get them. But there is always the opera, a place where elitists can gather and arrogantly claim everyone else to be an idiot. PS: Is there a Lobbyist for the "Cash for your Mooney" program? Have you given up on evolution already all in the name of your new found "Climate Change" religious beliefs? So much for the myth that Liberals possess supreme intelligence over everyone else. Life on this planet has been evolving for billions of years and it will continue to evolve until that great big ball in the sky 93 million miles away, burns up. All the "It will be the end of the world because of Climate Change" religious nut cases need a little dose of reality. Mother Nature always has and always will be more powerful than humans and life on this planet is not going anywhere as life on this planet will find a way to evolve. If Liberals can't find a way to evolve, well then that's just their problem. You may have given up on evolution thanks to your new found religious beliefs. But I haven't. And I am NOT buying into the Liberal's "Fabian Socialism" dogma. It is as "make believe" as all that fake crap Hollywood continues to produce. Want to talk about preventing cancer causing toxins from being pumped into the air and the water. Then I am all ears. But if Liberals continue to think that they can control Mother Nature through their new taxation and bogus carbon trading schemes, then Liberals need to be exposed for the complete utter arrogant fools that they are make themselves out to be. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Instead of dealing with the Liberal arrogance in their quest to socially engineer everyone into their "Fabian Socialism" dogma, maybe we should just ban humans? It's working in Chernobyl. Now that humans have left the area, the ecosystem around Chernobyl is doing quite well lately. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

You have never contributed to the pollution of this planet? Only Conservatives pollute? The arrogance of Liberals never ceases to amaze me. Canada's ubber Liberal city ... Toronto "the Center of the Universe" is a cellpool of pollution. How is it that a city dominated by Liberals can be so dirty, yet it is only Conservatives who pollute? - New York is a city dominated by Liberals, it is a city with a huge pollution problem. - Los Angeles is a city dominated by Liberals, it is a city with a huge pollution problem. - Chicago is a city dominated by Liberals, it is a city with a huge pollution problem. Why is it that North America's four largest cities, all with rather nasty pollution problems are all dominated by Liberals yet according to partisan Liberals hacks all pollution in the world is result of "conservetards"? It is clear you will never shed you partisan slant on the issues as no matter what the topic is, you come here to spew your childish crap. If you want to talk about controlling cancer causing toxins in the air and the water, then I am all ears. Reducing cancer in humans and animals is the right thing to do. But humans can NOT control Mother Nature. Never have and never will, no matter what arrogant Liberals think. Raising taxes or setting up corrupt carbon trading schemes will not have any effect on Mother Nature. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
-
Humans never have and never will be more powerful than Mother Nature. No amount of Al Gore's corrupt carbon trading scheme or the arrival of the messiah savior of the world Barack "the Hollywood created president" Obama will ever change the reality that humanity can NOT control Mother Nature. But that never stopped arrogant Liberals from thinking they had the mandate to socially engineer everyone's lives. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

The video does NOT show you landing. But the approach looks a 1000 times more radical than Glenwood Springs. One of my best days in my life was a 6 hour solo flight I did over the mountain of CO in the winter of 2002. This included landing at Colorado's 3rd hardest airport, Glenwood Springs which is a box canyon airport landing. It's funny I did this landing with no formal training at that airport (though I was checked out to do solo mountain flights). In fact I got in some trouble once I told the flight club I actually landed at Glenwood (turns out they did not want anyone who rented their airplanes to land at Glenwood ... my bad). But prior to flying into Glenwood Springs in the real world, I did the flight countless times on a simulator and it was amazing as I landing at Glenwood Springs in real life, what was going through my mind was "I have been here before". Simulators don't teach you how to fly, but they can be extremely valuable for terrain recognition. Of course I have never flown into Aspen (CO's 2nd hardest airport) or Telluride (CO's hardest airport). But Glenwood Springs was a rather cool box canyon to fly in and out of. Oh and flying home that day was also one of my scarier days as an aviator. I ran into my worst turbulence late in the afternoon flying east from the continental divide home to Jeffco. It was nasty. I just slowed the airplane down and kept telling myself there is 1000 feet between this airplane and the rocks below. It was nasty. I was being thrown around in that airplane like you could not believe. In fact after that turbulence, landing at Jeffco (even though it was windy) was a piece of cake. As cool as flying into Colorado's mountains are, it is not something to be complacent with. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Congrats!!! I actually earned my PPL wings before I became a skydiver. I was set to take my PPL checkride about one week before 9-11 and 9-11 threw a whole wrench into my training once all airspace over the USA was temporarily closed. Back before I was a skydiver I got my PPL and landing an airplane did NOT come natural to me. I wasn't a bad student, but I also was not a natural. I did have a rather thorough primary flight instructor. He was not easy on me, but I also feel when I did solo I knew what I was doing. In fact besides my solo mountain flights (in CO in 2002) my greatest accomplishment I have ever felt was not my first solo flight, no my greatest accomplishment was my first solo cross-country. Anyway I got my PPL in Nov of 2001, went on to become a skydiver in the summer of 2002 and I hate to say it my flying was diminished once I started skydiving since flying was so much more expensive than skydiving. From 2002 through 2005 I did not fly as PIC. In the summer of 2005 I was training full time as a competitive swooper, and I also became current again as with my PPL. It was funny, when I was a student pilot, landing an airplane did NOT come natural to me. But after a year as a full time swooper, all of a sudden landing an airplane was easy even though I was not current with landing airplanes. Everything in landing the airplane was happening so much slower than swooping. I should add though, landing an airplane does take more mental thought than landing a canopy. Anyway congrats ... flying is a gift that few humans get to experience. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Why all this talk about God? Gays? or showing the world no matter what the topic, some people here will always show their partisanship by slamming their most hated political demographic. Everyone (and their dog) knows Mother Nature dishes out the weather and Mother Nature can NOT be controlled. We lowly humans must deal with whatever she dishes out. My bad. Maybe he should be going after the wealth of the British monarchy first before he demands that American's hand over theirs. In that regard, I would not disagree. I say a tabloid headline waiting in line at the food store today saying that Queen E is not happy with Kate's "partying" family and that the Queen might call the wedding off. Of course it was all in a tabloid rag and we all know how accurate those are. Yes ... time to strip the British Monarchy of their wealth. What did they ever do to have so much money?
