  1. I see your snow shoes and raise you a hockey stick. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  2. I am not in the same class as some of you guys (I'm not as experienced and I'm not flying a cross-braced canopy). But I have started doing 270s and I love them. On my Crossfire2 I'll initiate my turn at about 350-400 feet AGL. 350 feet seems more dialed in, but I have found myself digging it out a little on occasion at that altitude and lately have been trying to start at about 400 feet and have the canopy dive longer (and I like the idea of starting out on double fronts before transitioning to a left or a right front riser carve). Also, I like the slightly more abrupt front riser turn as opposed to the subtle carve, but my horizontal and vertical accuracy isn't as good on the abrupt turns. So I have some work cut out ahead of me to get better and to get to know my canopy better before I ever think of replacing it (I've only got about 85 jumps on my Crossfire2). Oh I will have to modify my starting altitudes higher next summer when the density altitude kicks in here in CO. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  3. I guess you missed the thread last month about eeneR losing her job? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  4. Do these count as wintery pics? I used to get into winter mountaineering, but that was before I started enjoyed throwing myself out of airplanes. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  5. Happy birthday eeneR. Hmmm 30 years young huh? Cool. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  6. Does this mean you will be sharing more hottie pics with us? See you in a few weeks. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  7. Enjoy the flic dude. I saw it last summer in Kansas City on my way to Rantoul and it was worth the detour. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  8. It's a no-brainer again (at least from my perspective). I'd have sex with virtually any decent woman instead of meeting GWB. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  9. November 14, 2042 at the age of 79 years old. Damn that's too old. I won't have $$$ to live that long. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  10. Come to CO Andi, and you won't be too far away from NM if you still want to visit your friends there. Colorado Spring is a very pretty town (I lived there for two years back in the late 90s) and we do skydive all 12 months of the year (though maybe not all 52 weekends). You can jump down in Canon City with their Caravan or you could visit Mile-Hi (King Air now with an Otter coming in the Spring?) or Brush (with their King Air). 11. Don't be scared. It's not like you'll be jumping in Calhan in 100 degree weather with a field elevation of 6500 feet MSL. Your Eloy landings will be a little faster, but not too bad. Don't worry about it and you should be fine. But if people do want to land in the main landing area, they need to make sure that they are comfortable with cross-wind landings as the landings are done in Eloy (in the main landing area) only to the east or to the west. If people don't like cross-wind landings, they can always go to the alternate landing area, or there are plenty of places to land off in the dessert adjacent to the DZ. 14. 0:2:0 A quiet weekend for this camper. On Saturday all I could muster up was a hop n' pop out of a Cessna thanks to a flat tire on our main bird. And then only one (a fun five-way freefly) jump on Sunday before the winds picked up. That's okay though, because I have a better chance of doing my 500th on one of my early Eloy days if I'm not pounding out the jumps now. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  15. There will be different people coming and going from the DZ.COM tent all day long every day. So if you come out to visit, you'll meet a bunch of people. Plus there's pretty much someone landing all the time (some of them are good swoopers) and it makes for a good show for the whuffos. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  16. I did 330 and yes I know Sunnydee123 is poised to smash my accomplishment. But I showed up at Eloy last Christmas with 92 jumps and currently stand at 485. So I am ever so close to doing 400 jumps in that 12 month time frame. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. I think Peter's just jealous that I didn't start a thread about him. You jumping this weekend? Did you get a main for your new container yet? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  18. Below is the list of skychick's I have already met (forgive me if I miss someone as I'm doing this from memory): Arlo Bbarnhouse Bikerbabe Dagny DivaSkyChick Eener Flyangel2 FreeFlyHol HeatherB Katiebear21 Kolla Ladyskydiver Lewmonst Lolie Moodyskydiver Mouth Mujie96 Mustard RkyMtnHigh Skybytch Skycat Skyhussy Skyrose7 Skymama Stacey Sunnydee123 Sunshine Vallerina Wendy 12500ft So that means the hottest skychick I have YET to meet is all the other Hotties here on DZ.COM (some of whom I will hopefully meet before the year is out, some I will just have to wait to meet). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  19. Awesome pics. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  20. This was not the first time I had the pleasure of spending time with RkyMtnHigh, but I just came back from lunch with Kalyne and I want all of your DZ.COMers to know that she is an awesome person. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  21. And don't forget that we don't use oxygen on the way up to altitude. But that just makes our jumps more euphoric. I did a high alt. jump at last year's x-mas boogie and it was a blast. So if any of you out there are looking to a do cool high alt freefly with this camper while in Eloy, I'm game. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  22. Slap your head all you want. Men are the perpetrators of violence and war, not women. Of course if we were all women, the malls would be more dangerous than Iraq. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  23. Real name: Steve Armstrong Porn name: Rod Stroker I like it. From now on, I want you all to call me "Stroker". Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  24. We wouldn't be where we are without women. Now how's that for sucking up? Actually I truly do believe that we as a society would be better off if we listened a gave women more credit than what we men have given women over time in our history. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  25. I still haven't negotiated with the whuffo boss my exact holiday dates yet, but I was thinking that if I get the first 1/2 week off before christmas day, that I was going to travel from Colorado through Utah (check out Clint's new DZ in Moab) and then proceed towards Vegas and the Grand Canyon before venturing south towards Eloy. But once I'm in Eloy, I'm there to jump (and party) and maybe spend one day rock climbing. But not travel numerous hours up to the canyon. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
