Besides being able to skydive for the first time today in the last two weeks, what you just said made my day and shows that you are much more of a "Class Act" than I thought you were this morning. I wish you had thought about what you were saying before you initially pressed that send button, but you're back in my books as a good guy. Peace bro and have fun and be safe with your skydiving. Is that a threat? or did you just wake up on the wrong side of the bed and have some sort of @#^!$ envy issues. As for Bush, it sure was balls'y to go to Iraq. But I won't go so far to say that it was a class act. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

What? No mention of the Eloy Holiday Boogie? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

According to your URL http://canadaonline.about.com/library/weekly/aa072802a.htm and CNN http://www.cnn.com/US/9901/02/murder.rate/ 554 people were murdered in Canada (2001) or 1.8 per every 100000 people. 18,209 people were murdered in the USA (1997) or 6.8 per every 100000 people. So my 10:1 ratio is high, it's more like 3.5:1 (once again factoring in numbers as if the populations were the same). So the numbers aren't as drastic as one might have originally thought, but still more people per capita are murdered in the USA than in Canada (comparing two very similar socities with some common history). So why does America like to kill each other more than Canada? Culture? History? Marilyn Manson (a joke for those sleeping at the wheel). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

No argument here. I mean last night I said that we're just a smaller, less intense flavor of the USA. Oh here's an interesting thing (and it's not scientific, it's just out of that pea I call my brain). Rough population of the USA (what is it?) close to 300 million people (that's probably too high a number). Rough population of Canada (what is it?) 30 million people? Average number of people in USA per year who die via some sort of firearm. Let's say 10000? Average number of people in Canada per year who die via some sort of firearm. I don't know, how about 150? So for every Canadian who dies via some sort of firearm, roughly nine or ten Americans will die (and that is already factoring the population differences to allow us to compare the two if they were the same size). I know that this isn't scientific, but they are somewhat realistic numbers for two very similar societies. How do you like them apples? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Dang and I tried to get away from this thread yesterday. What I need is for Mother Nature to shine bright and warm upon the Front Range this holiday weekend so that I can get some good jumping in and forget about this nonsense. I have never really felt threatened in this country (maybe I'm lucky, maybe I just stay away from the troubled spots) and thus don't feel the need to arm myself in order to protect myself. If others don't feel the same way, it's in their right of this free society to do what they think they need to do to feel safer. I enjoyed the movie, did see faults in it. Likely don't feel the need to watch it any more. Life goes on. But am I done here? Probably not. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

You don't think I know the US has regional diversification? Where did I say that the US wasn't multi-cultural. I mean the people of Boulder are different than the people in suburban Denver. The people of suburban Denver are different than the people of inner city Denver. The people of inner city Denver are different that the people of Fort Collins and the people of Colorado Springs? Well, they're just different. And that's just the front range here in Colorado. All I was saying is that "Canada is as, if not more diversified than the USA". Never said you didn't. But Canada has the same people. In fact Canada has a much more liberal immigration policy than does the USA (to a fault IMHO). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Either 5k or 4.5k for break off, 3k for pull and 2k as my hard deck (audible hard deck). 1.5k is my absolute hard deck. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Hey leave me out of this. I'm just trying to absorb my new found realization that it's open season and that I really should be visiting my local gun shop on the way home tonight. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Dude lighten up and taken a breather will you. Can't you recognize humor? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Dude how many times do I have to say this. Neither one of us is about to change their minds on the subject. I did realize one thing though last night and that was many Americans feel safer with guns and if that's the society they want, who am I to think that I can change millions of people's opinions and almost 240 years of history. And now for some action shots from a winter mountaineering trip taken back in '99 in Rocky Mountain National Park near Longs Peak in Colorado. Dang, skydiving looks safe compared to that trip. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

"Simin with cake" was from her birthday party back in Oct of '99. "Simin with attitude" is well Simin with attitude. "Simin & Tess with a big smile" is Simin and her then 10 year old daughter Tess. "Tess, Adin & Boyfriend" is of Simin, her girlfriend Adin and some dude who exited Adin's life a long time ago. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Well I dragged out some pics from a couple of years ago of myself and a real hottie who for my two years in Colorado Springs back in '98-'00 was my best friend, Simin (pronounced Se-mean). It's too bad that I haven't seen or spoken to Simin since last fall when I took her on her first tandem, but I had to get on with my life up in the Republic of Boulder while she continues in the Springs. Are all white people from the same ethnic background? Really? Instead of judging a person by the color of their skin, how about trying to judge and classify a set of people based on how they act and their history. You can't tell me a Newfie is the same as a someone on the prairies. Yet they both have white skin? So they must be from the same ethinic background according to your stats. Let's talk people not numbers. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

What do you know about Canada? Do you know anything about our history and how certain types of people came to live in different parts of the country at different times in the past? What about immigration? How has our ethnic diversity expanded there? I think you've got us on the religious aspect of your argument, but racially Canada is just as much if not much more diverse than the USA. If you want I could go into some depth about the different types of people you will encounter in your travels across Canada (if you ever found yourself traveling there), but honestly I need to start doing more work right now and less DZ.COM. But I tell you if you're interested. Canada is a very interesting country with some of the most friendly people you will ever meet (and hence the reason why many parts of the country don't feel the need to lock their doors). Yes that is a good point. Not having the colligiates will help. Don't get me wrong. I am looking forward to this boogie. But it'll be different that's all. I mean AggieDave isn't showing up and I was looking forward to jumping with the slug. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Yes I know the future wife will be angry when she see's my flirtatious packing bytch advances towards Alana. Of course the future wife has also been known to flirt with other guys. But I some how feel I'll be sent to the dog house for this. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

There's going to be so many more people this year than there was last year. How many DZ.COMers did we have last year? Something like 40 or 50? This year there will be another 200 people on top of this and then there are so many more non-DZ.COMers that I know will be there as well. It's going to be a zoo (good and bad aspects) and I really don't think that the SDA packing consessions will be able to keep up with the demand. So I wouldn't worry about the whole packing for $$$ thing-a-ma-bob too much. But if Alana was to pay me in other forms, I too could be her packing bytch. She is a cutie after all. The Sabre2 is an awesome swooping canopy. My only beef with my old Sabre2 was it's relatively quick recovery arc. But I have video of myself out swooping a similarily loaded Samurai. So instead of remarking that this canopy is too slow, maybe you should change your approach styles to get more speed out of it instead of thinking that the only way to generate speed is to downsize. I'm not going to comment on whether or not, this is too aggressive (for fear that canopy nazis will step in). But I have a Crossfire2 139 loaded at a fraction under 1.6:1 and I love this canopy. I started flying it at jump #401 and have since made 74 jumps on it and have done well in the thin air of Colorado. Once again changing your approach types (when traffic permits) instead of downsizing right away will give you some added speed and might even scare you. In other words, it wasn't until I started doing 270s that I started noticing that I was able to out swoop my old Sabre2 with the Crossfire2. This is hypocritical as I did not max out my Sabre2 before moving on to my Crossfire2, but one really should max out a canopy before one downsizes. And based on your comments, you have not maxed out your canopies. But at the same time, you will like the Crossfire2 if you decide on getting one and Icarus does recommend loading the Crossfire2 some where between 1.4:1 and 2.0:1 (of course the canopy can be flown at a lower wing loading). I just visited the Pub and noticed that 241 DZ.COMers are confirmed for the Eloy Holiday Boogie. We're going to need a bigger packing tent than what we had last year. Looks like this camper will be packing in any spare space he can find. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Hey that sounds like fun. And it's guys like you (with experience) that I'm not concerned about. Of course I'm sure one day, a DZ.COMer is going to pop me at a boogie. Because after reading this thread, they'll know that I'm not armed. Or am I? Maybe I'm an hypocrite and I'm packing? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Actually there is another society. Canada. Of course we are a much smaller, less intense version. But we are much more alike than many people would like to admit on both sides of the border. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I really don't care for the media. You should know that. After all, we're skydivers right? Hey I can respect your background and you obviously know a whole lot more about the weaponry than I ever will. Now if you can believe it, I was briefly in the military as well and thoroughly enjoyed firing the automatic weapons. But that was Canada's military back in 80s (if you want to call it a military) ... LOL Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Maybe here, but not in other societies. Hey I agree with you 100% about how men and women act and how we really should act. So it's not like we're always talking apples and oranges. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
