Thanks for the laughs. Those were good. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  2. Plus they used a number of different directors which all fell under the supervision of Peter Jackson. Truly an epic worthy of being called an epic. Looking forward to seeing it later today. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  3. You'll enjoy it. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  4. I saw it Kansas City back in June and it was/is a fantastic movie. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  5. Hey that's great that you've had success with your landings. Keep up the good work. Just don't get too cocky as even some of the really experienced have been known to mess up their landings. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  6. Let me check my driver's license here for a sec ... yup ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  7. My first jump was at the ripe old age of 38 (now 40). But I look and act a lot younger than my age. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  8. I have a question for you Betsy. When will we (who reserved and paid for a spot) be able to move into the team rooms? I don't know for sure when I will be arriving in Eloy, but it'll likely happen before the 24th. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  9. With a platter of cheese I hope to go along with their whine. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  10. Several years ago I suffered a pretty severe ankle sprain when I crashed hard feet first into the board during a hockey game. I hope your injury isn't as bad as mine was which took several months to fully heal (fortunately I wasn't a skydiver at the time). Take care and watch out for those Christmas decorations. 11. My company is having our x-mas party tomorrow at lunch and then most of us will be heading off to the theater afterwards to watch "LOTR: Return of the King". I'm looking forward to it. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  12. IMHO "Out of the Blue" is better than "Good Stuff". But the "Good Stuff" DVD does have some neat stuff in it. What are you looking for? Freeflying, Swooping or RW? Freeflying: Flyboyz Party Mix Chronicles III (I've yet to see Chronicles I & II) The Clouds Edge Swooping: 2001 Pond Swoop Nationals Swoop Two (2002 P.S.N.) Dirt Water Dirt RW: Airspeed are just a few which come to mind ... of course I omited my favorite movie and it's called "Bellas". But you won't find it in any stores. Why? Because it's a 25 minute long (six songs) movie which I produced myself (it's a not-for-profit movie since I never licensed the music, but it turned out very well). Anyway, I'm going to have a few copies with me at the Eloy Holiday Boogie . But I noticed you're down under and I'm not sure about the shipping costs to such a far away destination. 13. I'm not sure exactly when I will be arriving, but I'm thinking of leaving Friday evening after work, spending the weekend in Moab (if Mother Nature is nice to me) and stopping off in Vegas on my way to Eloy (arriving in Eloy Monday or Tuesday). Then I'll be at the boogie until Jan 3rd or 4th. Should be fun ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  14. Kalyne, have a good trip and a Merry Christmas and hopefully we'll see you in Eloy? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  15. 0:0:0 A rare weekend of no jumping for this camper. The WX was less than ideal (sort of cold and cloudy on Saturday and then windy at least in the morning on Sunday). So I stayed away from the DZ. But don't forget that starting next weekend, I'll be off of work for two whole weeks and will be attending the Eloy Holiday boogie. So I am sort of saving myself for the boogie and not jumping this weekend just wasn't a big deal. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  16. To share in my/our experiences of this wonderful sport (or should I say lifestyle), to meet interesting people and to have fun. Unfortunately, drama and politics have a way of yielding an ugly face in this sport, but drama and politics exist in other sports as well. I would agree that lesser experienced jumpers do need to be leary of any advice given by jumpers (regardless of experience levels) here on DZ.COM, but people need to understand a thing or two about human nature and why (I hate this term) 100 jump wonders like to tell people about their experiences. For those of you who may be at my level of experience or above, please remember when you were a 100 jump wonder (once again I hate this term). Yes we would likely all agree that we didn't know anything, but we weren't exactly student skydivers as well. We had some experience. We just don't have the experience that someone who's been involved in the sports for years and may have thousands of jumps may have. But we are all different and some people may find a certain skill easier than someone else. Jump numbers alone are not a indication of skill. But they are an indication of a certain exposure of experience in the sport. As for the one-time jumper, hey as long as they aren't trying to tell someone how to skydive, what's the harm in letting them hangout here on DZ.COM. To me DZ.COM is a way of meeting people from across the country and around the world without having to meet them in person (of course it's even better when you finally get to meet someone you've been talking to online at a boogie). Live life to it's fullest, don't worry about the things you have no control over. Treat people with the respect you'd like them to treat you with and don't worry, be happy. There's nothing in skydiving that 1000 jumps can't fix. Well I know that last sentence isn't 100% correct, but it applies in most cases. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. I didn't know I had "Attention Deficit Disorder". But maybe that explains a few things which always seem to occur sometime below 3k. Just pull'n your leg here. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

  19. I voted for everything except Naked Skydiving (it looks painful) and landing a wing suit (I'll leave that honor to some other nut). But other than that, it all looks like fun. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  20. Only a skygod would make a remark like this. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  21. Bullshit. Who cares who originally said it. What matters is that it was used in the context of this thread in a derogatory manner. I may not agree with guys like JohnRich (and I find his constant use of statistics which suit his arguments annoying, hence the reason I refused to respond to his usual antics). But believe it or not, I respect him. But respect must be earned. And you have been quick to shit down anyone's neck here on DZ.COM who does not agree with your views. I am so done with this thread and I am done with arrogant, intolerant skygods like yourself. Bite me. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  22. I guess in your mind, the mature thing to do is to throw insults at anyone who may have a different view other than your own. You know, I used to think that skydivers were cool people. But I was obviously mistaken. There are still plenty of out there. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  23. Size does matter when it comes time to matching fall rates, but size will have no effect as to whether or not you can fly your body in the sky. Plus your instructors are talented and experienced people who will know how to adjust their flying styles in order to fly with you. This likely depends on the individual, but as a group one would think that women may be a little better in free fall because they are more flexible and they usually don't have the same sort of need to live up to an ego like a man would. But men might have an easier time jumping as they may not be as scared when first starting in this sport. And men tend to be better in terms of advancing as canopy pilots. But of course men are much more likely to screw up under canopy (the whole ego thing-a-ma-bob). Of course what do I know? I haven't been in this sport all that long and I am not an instructor or a USPA coach. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  24. I cut mine off. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
