Whatever you say comrade. But this is not the end of the bread line. Are you trying to cut into the line again? The end of the line for your daily rations is on the next block down. - The snivel is nothing out of the ordinary. But while I have taken the canopy terminal, the majority of the jumps are sub terminal (ie: hop n' pops) and my experiences with the canopy may not be the same what you want to know. However (knock on wood) I have not had any problems with the canopy when I have done a terminal opening with it. - My JVX does not turn left or turn right when I open with good body position and have done a reasonably good job packing the canopy symmetrically. You know what they say, poor body position is the most common contributing factor that causes canopies to spin on opening. Next is a poor pack job followed by a bad line set and only after all this could one talk about a canopy that turns one way or the other on opening. My observations are that my JVX opens straight when everything else is controlled. - How does it inflate? Ha ha ... it's a canopy, it wants to open. So far I have no reason to think it will stop inflating. Sounds like I may be loading my JVX 87 higher than you may load a 69 (even though the JVX does like to be loaded fairly high). But I also use my JVX as a swooping canopy and I grew up as a hop n' pop swooper. My experiences with my JVX as a competition hop n' pop swooper are going to be different than someone who does camera jumps for tandems and 4-ways. It is what it is. I have a JVX 87 and it opens very well ... in controlled environments (ie: hop n' pops). Come on you should know this. There are better canopies out there for normal fun/work jumps when you have a camera strapped to your head. It's important for working camera fliers (tandem or 4-way) to be able to make the next load. Anytime you fly such a high performance canopy you know the chances for malfunctions are increased. Use the right tool for the job. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

You don't understand, defensemen DO NOT go chasing the puck and leave opposing players behind all alone in front of the net to pounce on a free puck. I never would have expected to see a professional do this in such a high profile game. But ... Sid the Kid saves the day. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Scott Niedermayer playing the puck instead of the man in front of the net? You have to be fucking kidding me. What is this amateur hour during the last minute of the gold medal game? WTF Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

That they will. But we should not compare these games with the 1976 Montreal Olympics (not saying you are). The Montreal Olympics were ripe with corruption. When VANOC was bidding for these games, nobody anticipated the recession. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Not counting the domestic anarchists, so far (knock on wood) the security team has done it's job. Oh and even with the anarchists, the security team handled them very well. Woot Woot ... Not that it solves all the countries problems, but I am feeling good. Even if Canada was shut out of my favorite individual events, Alpine Skiing. I just watched the replay of the 1st period. The answer is both. The USA played really well and Finland? Well Kiprusoff made a bone-head play on the 1st goal (if you are 40 feet out of your own net, you don't try and finesse the puck to your teammate), 2 powerplay goals by the USA, poor defense on the 4th goal, poor defense plus a cold goalie on the 5th and 6th goals and lights out. In all this onslaught by the USA, Finland could barely even muster up a shot on net before the USA was up 6-0. Summary: the USA is for real but Finland is better than this, they failed to show up. Yes I agree, I think Amazon captured the moment quite well with "being young", "celebrating something momentous in your life" and most importantly "being together with some of the more important people in your life". Good on you Amazon for telling us what's important. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

"To all our critics ... Get Real" - Hayley Wickenheiser (captain of Canada's Womens Olympic Hockey Gold Medalists) Do not piss off Ms. Wickenheiser, she will kick your ass. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I just watched the replay on the internet. What I saw was the 3rd place Canadian losing his edge and then the Korea also losing his edge split second afterward. Disqualifying Apollo Ohno was bullshit. Gold: Charles Hamelin, Canada Silver: Apollo Ohno, USA Bronze: Sung Si-Bak, Korea IMHO ... you have a valid beef. BTW: Ohno's hand is on the Canadian's hip at the start of the last corner, but he does not give enough of a push to warrant a disqualification (from what I can see) and the Korea fell on his own accord. Damn Washington Generals are still losing to the Globetrotters? Talk about losers ... they were losing when I was a kid. Just kidding, please don't tell the IOC on me. I was drinking beer earlier. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Sorry I will have to catch the short track speed skating hilights later. I was a little preoccupied watching the hockey game to care about speed skating. BTW ... did anyone notice that Canada and Slovakia swapped uniforms in the 3rd period? ROFLMAO ... Dang Slovaks almost gave me a heart attack with 11 seconds left in the game. Bring it on come Sunday. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

But but curling is over and we already know Sweden won. The first game is meaningless. But I do agree that Canada will have to bring their "A" game. Of course so will the USA. It looks like Slovakia started off playing the semi-final trying to take the game into a 0-0 overtime tie and try their luck winning the game in the shootout. Can you blame them? After what the USA did this afternoon to Finland. But with the two Canadian goals, the Slovaks will not be able to sit back. They are going to have to open up sooner or later and when they do they better not hope they get caught. Looking good so far for a Canada/USA Gold Medal rematch. But 20 minutes does not make a game. Go get'em Canada. Keep the pressure on and don't get lazy with the backchecking. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

My "Get Real" comments were not directed at you. Sorry if I left you with that impression. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Andy, this adhoc celebration took place more than two hours after the gold medal game had ended. There was no disrespecting any of the nations they competed against. It was simply a bunch of amateur athletes who wanted to return to the ice one more time (this could be the last time some of them get to play on such a large venue), cherish the moment, take some pictures and celebrate with some wobbly pops and maybe a cigar. In the words of Canada's captain Hayley Wickenheiser to all the critics out there "Get Real". It's hard to believe a bunch of "beer light" observing skydivers would have an issue with this. Seems like the IOC may be getting the message. I heard on the radio coming home from work that the IOC will not be making a big deal out of this. We need to wait to see the result of tonight's Canada/Slovakia game before we know the answer to this question. But it is possible that the tournament's 3rd best team was Switzerland who played Canada and the USA very closely. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

In the meantime down the block at the "New Amsterdam Cafe" business goes on as usual. Not to mention a certain bar down the street (which shall remain annoymous) where one only needs to stand by the jukebox and within seconds someone else will approach you and ask you what sort of commerce you wish to engage in. Oh yes good ole Vancouver when one form of smoke is to be strictly prohibited while the other form of smoke is ignored. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

No fair you are making fun of one of our biological weaknesses. George: Well I just got back from swimming in the pool. And the water was cold... Jerry: Oh... You mean... shrinkage. George: Yes. Significant shrinkage! Jerry: So you feel you were short changed. George: Yes! I mean, if she thinks that's me she's under a complete misapprehension. That was not me, Jerry. That was not me. Jerry: Well, so what's the difference? George: What if she discusses it with Jane? Jerry: Oh, she's not gonna tell Jane. George: How do you know? Jerry: Women aren't like us. George: They're worse! They're much worse than us, they talk about everything! Couldn't you at least tell her about the shrinkage factor? Jerry: No, I'm not gonna tell her about your shrinkage. Besides, I think women know about shrinkage. George: How do women know about shrinkage? (They see Elaine walking down the hall) George: Elaine! (She enters) George: Do women know about shrinkage? Elaine: What do you mean, like laundry? George: No. Jerry: Like when a man goes swimming... afterwards... Elaine: It shrinks? Jerry: Like a frightened turtle! Elaine: Why does it shrink? George: It just does. Elaine: I don't know how you guys walk around with those things. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I don't know about you, but I would love to be an Olympic athlete right now. I watched the opening ceremonies and there were some "hotties" there.

You beat Haiti? You are a monster ... won't anyone please think of the children. BTW ... plenty of money has been pledged to Haiti. The challenge now is can this money be actually spent rebuilding the country or will corrupt people begin stealing from the donated money. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

With all due respect I am guessing you do not have much of a hockey background. It is on the ice where you want to be as you celebrate your championship. The hockey player has a certain bond to this environment. It is their shrine. Sure hockey players celebrate back in the village or other public areas. But only after they have first paid homage to the Hockey Gods on the ice. Heck they didn't even want to get out of their stinky uniforms until the moment had completely set in. Or maybe I am just talking out of my rear end ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
