  1. That was funny. I did not know I was the root to all evil. But there is a problem here ... I did not vote for Obama (nor did not vote for anyone else in the 2008 US Presidential Election). So either Glenn Beck is confusing me with someone else, or the folks at CNNBC have too much time on their hands. But it was funny ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  2. and money is easier to tax. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  3. Your stats shown above do NOT show who is doing the fighting and who is doing the dying. Once again I reiterate ... who is doing the heavy lifting (ie: the fighting and dying) in Afghanistan? 1) USA 2) UK 3) Canada 4) there is no 4 ... maybe the Netherlands ... no not really ... The USA is more committed than any other country in Afghanistan, but don't buy into the American media propaganda that it is only the USA that is doing the heavy lifting. The UK and Canada have also entered the hornets nest. My point in bringing this all up is that all the other European NATO nations in Afghanistan do their best to stay out of the conflict. Occasionally they lose people because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. But NATO is providing itself not to be a reliable alliance moving forward. Then again NATO was created to counteract the WARSAW Pact which unless Russia decides to stir up some of their own shit, they are no longer the threat they once were. The USA does not have to spend as much $$$ as they do on their military, we are in agreement there. But getting back to the topic at hand, despite what the Leftists here on DIZZY.COM think, the Ultra Rich are paying more tax than all other demographics combined. If the Leftist whiners from this thread think this is not enough, then what are they waiting for? Stop frigging whining and start acting. Why don't the Leftist whiners show up at the Ultra Rich's doors and tell them that they are there to seize assets. Who needs some cheese to go along with their whine? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  4. NATO? huh? ... You have not been paying attention to Afghanistan and who is doing the heavy lifting there. Then again with the American media you guys likely don't know what's going on there. Let's refresh the memory of who in NATO is doing anything in Afghanistan. 1) USA 2) UK 3) Canada 4) there is no 4 ... maybe the Netherlands ... not really ... NATO would not come to Canada's defense if (I don't know) the USA decided to invade and occupy Canada. You say Russia and China would not invade and it's easy to say that when the most powerful military in the world is next door. But take that US military out of the picture and Canada has a lot of natural resources that any power would love to have. PS: the USA spends an awful lot of money on their military and could likely cut back if they decided not to be the world police. In that regard there is no argument from me. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  5. Drew don't compare Canada's military spending with the USA's. The two simply can not be compared. Canada gets off easy by relying on the USA for it's national defense. Russia (or China) would already be occupying Canada right now and soaking up Canada's natural resources if the USA didn't have the military that it has. 6. LOL ... and you think I was in favor of governments bailing out the bankers and the auto industry? Wherever did you get that impression? I just called for smaller government in a previous post and now you criticize me because governments (not myself) decided to get into the banking and auto industries? Too funny ... For thousands of years the elite have controlled the masses. Whatever gave people the impression that this was ever going to change? Life is too short for myself to be obsessing about the ultra rich. As long as I still have some personal sovereignty remaining (we know the UN is working towards taking this away), I will value the choices I get to make in life and not waste my time worrying about something I have no control over. But if you people want to oust the rich and take their assets away from them, what are you waiting for? Whining on the internet is not helping your cause. Why are you not knocking down the doors of the rich telling them you are there to take their assets from them? Who needs some cheese to go along with their whine? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  7. The majority of Americas are not communists (yet) and do not share your vision where wealth is confiscated. But we know the up and coming generations are being indoctrinated into the "United Nation's Agenda 21 under the guise of Economic Sustainability in order to control Climate Change". So your dream of communism where everyone is equal (equally screwed) is just around the corner in the coming decades once the next generation of brain washed nanny state dependent lemmings come off of the production lines. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  8. Not counting the military spending, the "Super-Rich" are not creating the massive debt. This massive debt exists because the lemmings unwilling to support themselves want the government to create all sorts of special interest social engineering programs for them. Society has turned into politically correct wussy chimp whiners who demand this and that special interest government programs. Look back at how large government has grown these last 50 years and it is no wonder how the debt has grown with the massive government bureaucracy. For someone who can afford to skydive you clearly need some more cheese to go with your whine. Why are you so obsessed with these "Super-Rich" people? You have no idea how good you have it. The majority of the world can not afford to skydive. Maybe you need to be paying more tax to pay for this massive government bureaucracy you keep demanding. Once again comrade, this is not the line for food. It is the line for shoes. You need to queue up on the next block where you can whine about your daily food rations. Long live Soviet Amerika. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  9. How about not spending so much (yes this includes the military). How about reduce the size of government? no that will never happen ... Spend spend spend ... when the largest job growth demographics are public sector jobs, you know you are on the road to something that can not be sustained. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  10. and Obama's policies make Reagan look like a fiscal conservative. This is a funny thread. Whine whine whine. Who needs some cheese? Not saying the good professor is proposing this (so my next comment is generic and not directed at the Professor), but to all those who are calling for "Robinhood" to come in and save the day where all wealth is stripped from the rich, this is not the food line. It is the line for shoes. The food line starts at the end of the block down the street. Carry on comrades ... long live Soviet Amerika ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  11. Too funny ... Lucky whines about partisan news organizations and how they are not credible in all sorts of threads today, but then has a URL to the "Huffington Post" in their signature line. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  12. Prolonged abusive use of marijuana will hurt you. But it will not hurt you as much as prolonged abusive use of harder drugs or alcohol. Marijuana is addictive, but it is a mental addiction not a physical one and people can control or eliminate their marijuana consumption if they are motivated. Finally I would not be against legalizing marijuana to be regulated in a similar manner to how tobacco and alcohol are regulated. But I definitely would not favor legalizing the harder drugs. 13. I just finished watching the video and Ron Paul just makes too much common sense. Democrats and Republicans do not like listening to common sense. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  14. Who's Miles Daishler? Sorry I could not resist. as others have mentioned already, Miles is "da Man". Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  15. Another common sense solution from Nightingale ... Nightingale for prez in 2012. This is nuts. The entire prom will be canceled because of this? WTF? I know a male in a prom dress is controversial, but a female in a tux? Come on get a grip. I used to date a really attractive girl (yeah I know hard to believe someone as ugly as me could date an attractive woman ... haha) and she never wore skirts or dresses. Plus she was religious on top of all this. It's not like she was stuck in the 1950s like members of this school district obviously are. Someone please go close the doors to the asylum. All the nuts are escaping (including me). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  16. Someone please run on down to the asylum and close the doors before any more lunatics like Nancy Pelosi escape. For crying out loud, she wants to pass legislation that few if any law makers understand? "NUTS!" - December 22, 1944, General McAuliffe - 101st Airborne Division. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. I can't watch YouTube videos here at work (it's blocked), so I will need to try and remember to login later from home if I want to watch this video. But Ron Paul often makes too much "common sense" for the people on the political left and political right to accept his ideas. So chances are very good that Mr Paul will be ignored ... again. I wonder if Ron Paul would ever win a Nobel Peace prize? Probably not since these days you must escalate a war in order to win the prize. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  18. not from what I've seen - pretty much just the opposite though I would say they have a statistically significant higher occurence of 'thinking" they are better than average... My opinion about "skydivers being above average drivers" was just an opinion and was not scientific. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  19. I would be willing to bet that the average skydiver (when they are NOT intoxicated LOL) are "Above Average Automobile Drivers" mainly because skydivers jump in an environment where not paying attention can result in death. But that does not mean skydivers are given a free pass while driving. Complacency kills anywhere that it can. and yes if people want the auto manufacturers to give them a "magic shutoff" switch, then by all means go for it. Just make sure it is mechanical and not software reliant. But I don't need this "magic" switch with either of the two vehicles I currently own since both vehicles already have this option and it is called my "clutch pedal". Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  20. Well that's Chicago's problem. But of course we know this issue is not exclusive to just Chicago. Virtually everywhere you look there are people driving inappropriately in their vehicles on public roads. Face it, most people think they are above average drivers and think everyone else is a moron. But most people only drive their cars on public roads and have little to no "advanced driving" exposure. So like others in this thread, I wonder if the person who inspired this thread by losing control of their Prius may actually be behind some sort of hoax. But if this story is legit and he did lose control, well he is just one in a long list of people who are clueless about how to control their vehicle. If someone wants to improve their driving skills, go do some "track day" sessions at your local race track. You do not need to be a race car driver to benefit from "track day" sessions. 21. Pure speculation on my part. After reading the article it sounds like he could have had a heart attack in the middle of the night. In this case maybe an extra pill (ie: an aspirin) could have actually saved his life. But as I said, it is all speculation on my part. An autopsy will tell us more about what actually killed him. PS: of course I don't want to die from a heart attack anytime soon, but I'd rather go from something like a heart attack than rot away with cancer. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  22. Left foot braking has some uses on the race track. But it should not be used on public roads. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  23. I am pretty sure it's not a Canadian thing since most vehicles up here are automatics. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  24. ROFLMAO ... you need to do more than just groan ... this is just too funny. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  25. The lapse time it would take me to correct a problem when I am driving a manual transmission vehicle is "less than one second" to press my left foot down on the clutch pedal and hold it there until the problem is fixed or until the vehicle slows down enough to exit whatever road I am on and come safely to a stop. I swear people would be better drivers and there would be less accidents if more people drove manual transmissions. They actually require your attention while driving and there is less time to do other things while we motor around the road ways. The only real downside to manual transmissions is that you need both hands and both legs to be functioning in order to use the manual transmission. But being SC ... I sure some people will disagree with my "manual transmission" preference. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
