Not to mention the "on site" housing possibilities! Forget trailers -- build small houses around a swimming pool. Two to three cafes/restaurants, small grocery.... And no local town to complain about the skydivers. Plenty of "outs!" Hey, Nataly -- there's your new move! Growing the business, working for yourself, etc. Plus, with the length of runway there, no limits on the types of aircraft available to jump from. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation

My girlfriend accused me of being emotionally distant last night. I told her it wasn't true; it's just that my emotions are very small so they look a lot further away. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation

Good first canopy? - 2nd hand Safire 2 209/229
rifleman replied to rifleman's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Definitely planning on a rigger inspection before parting with cash and intend to get instructor input anyway. I was just after some generalised input about the canopy itself and whether it was something that was a suitable canopy for someone just off student status. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation -
Good first canopy? - 2nd hand Safire 2 209/229
rifleman replied to rifleman's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Saw a DZ offering several of their club canopies for sale - all 2006 - 2008 with 350 - 500 jumps, supplied with new line set but was just wondering whether the Safire 2 was a good first canopy. My H/C is a classic Teardrop sized for a 220/220 combination and I'm approx 235lbs exit weight. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation -

How would you feel about your harmless prank if because of the uppers your friend was blown way off the DZ, had to land out and seriously injured himself. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation

Personally, I always preferred a Remington 870 for home defence backed up by an H&K P7. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation -

Was sent this via FB by an old friend that I served with in the army. Given the time of year, I thought I'd share it here. Just watch it but have the kleenex ready - I have to admit now that I blubbed just a little watching it. Just finished: The Right Honourable Chimpanzee - David Phillips & Georgi Markov as David St. George and Ikon - Graham Masterton both of which I had to hunt around online for as someone stole my original copies years ago. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation

No need to be sorry - you weren't to know. I've kind of got used to the lack of sleep and the nightmares seem to come in cycles. Some nights it's the stadium fire, others it's Northern Ireland, Kuwait or Bosnia. I'll have the nightmares for a week or two then maybe nothing for a couple of months and then the whole thing starts again. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation

Nightmares - including some from when I initially joined the reserves in '85. 17 years old and I'm helping the emergency services pull 56 badly burned bodies out of the remains of a soccer stadium. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation

I never really had trouble sleeping when I was in the Army but just of late I seem to be getting more and more nights where I wake up in a cold sweat after half an hour asleep (I can drop off in minutes) and then I probably get less than 3 hours sleep per night. That first photo was the mosquito - probably one of the finest and fastest multi-role aircraft of WWII. Personally, I think that it's a work of art and I love the shape. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Havilland_Mosquito Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation
