At the BPA AGM in Nottingham this year, there was a very good seminar delivered by Chris Ivory about the planning and rehearsal that went into this stunt, which was seen by millions of people worldwide. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xW5abat5NEU I know the individual seminars were videoed for live streaming and on demand viewing afterwards but can't seem to find that footage atm. After stumbling upon a lamp in his cellar, an old man tries to clean it and is astonished when a genie appears and grants him one wish. The pensioner thinks hard, then unselfishly decides that peace in the Middle East would help humanity more than any petty personal gain. "Hmmm," says the genie, "I think that's beyond even my powers. It's a conflict as old as time itself, with intractable religious, social and economical issues involved. Could you please choose again?" The old man thinks for a moment and then asks if just once, possibly, he could receive a blow job from his wife. The genie looks at him coldly. "Okay," he says, "when you say the word peace, do you mean...." Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation

I completely agree with you - the effects of sexual assault are horrific and far reaching and that kind of predator should be removed from society for the well being and safety of everyone. I was just trying to show that there are ways of dealing with the minor incidents of drunken stupidity that we've all probably been guilty of without having to resort to prison and without the person having to be on the sex offenders register for the rest of their life. Three rats are relaxing in a bar. After a few beers they start talking about how tough they are. The first rat says, "When I woke up this morning there was a matchbox full of rat poison outside my hole. I ate the whole lot and didn't feel a thing." After a significant pause and a few more beers, the second rat chips in, "When I got up this morning, there was an enormous rat trap with a huge piece of prime cheese as bait. I stepped up, caught the bar on my back, ate the cheese and slipped out without a bruise." At this, the third rat gets up and heads for the door. "Where are you going?" ask the other two rats. "Aw, I'm bored here. Think I'll go home and fuck the cat again." Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation

I don't know how relevant this is but in the UK, peeing in public is generally dealt with by an £80 fixed penalty notice or (more frequently) a bucket of hot soapy water and a brush with the police officer standing over you while you clean up your own mess. Streaking, depending on the police officer concerned can be treated as a public order offence (£80 fixed penalty notice or on summary conviction maximum of 6 months in prison and/or maximum of £5000 fine) or an offence under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 (fixed penalty notice or on summary conviction, maximum 6 months in prison and/or maximum £1000 fine or if convicted on indictment maximum of 2 years in prison). If so required, a person must register with their local police force within 72 hours of being cautioned for a sexual offence but the term of registration depends on the sentence received. Currently, if sentenced to over 30 months imprisonment then the person is required to remain on the register indefinitely, 6 months to 30 months on register for seven years, less than 6 months on register for five years. These periods are halved for a person under 18. (These periods may be under review as there have been changes made to when convictions are considered "spent" ie: do not have to be declared to an employer or other agency). I looked this up a while ago because, as a member of the Royal British Legion, we hear the fourth verse used so often but I just wanted to know the rest of the poem. For The Fallen With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children, England mourns for her dead across the sea. Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit, Fallen in the cause of the free. Solemn the drums thrill; Death august and royal Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres, There is music in the midst of desolation And a glory that shines upon our tears. They went with songs to the battle, they were young, Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow. They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted; They fell with their faces to the foe. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. They mingle not with their laughing comrades again; They sit no more at familiar tables of home; They have no lot in our labour of the day-time; They sleep beyond England's foam. But where our desires are and our hopes profound, Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight, To the innermost heart of their own land they are known As the stars are known to the Night; As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust, Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain; As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness, To the end, to the end, they remain. When is it OK to make/receive phone calls during a skydive?
rifleman replied to NeoX's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Just a quick question - Given that most hands free earpieces require you to push a button on the headset to connect the call, how the hell are you going to do that through your helmet? Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation -
I don't bother renting through Kindle, I buy DVD's or Blu-ray discs with the UV symbol on them so that I own a digital copy of that movie that I can stream, download and share with up to five other people - no limits on how often I can watch them. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation

I'm not advocating for the entire Constitution or BoR to be suspended, either. Only a few points might need to be suspended for a time to set things right, again. So, if the US government determined that it was in the best interests of the country, given that "You're at War", for them to suspend your fifth amendment rights and force you from your home at gunpoint, place you in an internment camp with all your friends and family and keep you there for years even though you're a citizen of the US who swore the Oath of Allegiance you'd be fine with that? Didn't think so. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation

Sony Vegas HD Platinum V.11 with Windows 7?
rifleman replied to rifleman's topic in Photography and Video
I'm new to the whole video editing thing and was wondering if Sony Vegas was a useful package to use as a beginner. I'm running Windows 7 32 bit on an HP Elitebook with 160GB hard drive and 4 GB RAM. According to the Microsoft Compatibility Site the Platinum HD V.11 is compatible with Win 7 but was after some input from people who've actually used it. I really don't want to spend a small fortune buying the very latest version if it's not going to be what I want. Many thanks in advance. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation -

Round here, the big supermarkets are open Good Friday and Easter Monday but closed on Sunday. Virtually all the smaller, local shops are closed for the whole weekend but here's the kicker - local byelaws mandate that all the small shops close for a half day on Wednesday afternoon and then they complain that the big supermarkets are putting them out of business. Next one of the Christian values under threat!
rifleman replied to Stumpy's topic in Speakers Corner
Current theories seem to support that sexuality is fixed in utero and not as a result of cultural and social influences. (see David/Brenda Reimer and the Sambia tribe of Papua New Guinea) It also seems that all the "gay cures" have 0% effectiveness. If homosexuality was a life choice like drug and alcohol use, or smoking then yes, you could probably effectively use rehab techniques to "give up the behaviour" but as it seems to be linked to the androgen levels the fetus is exposed to during pregnancy there's no way it's going to work. Sewing machine recommendations needed please.
rifleman replied to rifleman's topic in Gear and Rigging
Not strictly skydiving related - but I find myself in the position of needing a new sewing machine. It needs to handle multiple layers of heavy coutil fabric but also more delicate materials like lace and satin. It should also have adjustable stitch length as most of the seams I make are sewn once at 12 stitches per inch then oversewn at 8 stitches per inch. If it has the ability to do straight, zigzag and buttonhole then so much the better. Thanks in advance for any advice. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation -
Mark 12: 30-31 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this 'You shall love your neighbour as yourself'. There is no other commandment greater than these. TBH if it came down to a choice between going to Hell with a gay man who'd never attended church but would give his last dollar to buy a homeless person a coffee and a sandwich or an eternity in Heaven with a bunch of self righteous d***s bleating about how they were washed in the blood of the lamb, then I'm pretty sure I'd choose hell - I'd meet a better class of person there. I love listening to the idiots in the BNP and the EDF when they talk about keeping the British race pure - for god's sake, Britain has been invaded so many times over the centuries that we've become one of the most bastardized races on the planet. We've been invaded by the French, the Vikings, the Angles, the Saxons, the Jutes and the Romans among others. Given that the some of the Roman Legionaries posted in England were probably born in North Africa and other places I'm pretty sure that there's no such thing as a pure British race. According to a news report, a certain private school in Washington recently was faced with a unique problem. A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints. Every night, the maintenance man would remove them and the next day, the girls would put them back. Finally the principal decided that something had to be done. She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with the maintenance man. She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night. To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required. He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it. Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror. There are teachers, and then there are educators... Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation
