  1. No Bill, I need you to spin it for me. Until you explain what they are trying to spin, I wouldn't have thought to combine the seperate paragraphs to come to your conclusion. 2. And here I thought you meant the practicality aspects of the law, not enforcing it. I am glad I asked. Josh That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.

  8. My buddy jumped a jedie 105 in an XRS for many years. Then he put an FX89 in it. since he has got a new container and has put the jedie back in the XRS. I have packed that XRS with both the Jedie and FX many times and while it is tight it is nowhere close to how foolishly? tight my Wings is with sub 80 canopies. I am not sure how much larger the Samurai is, but I can only wish my rig packed as easy as his XRS with a 105 or fx89 in it. I think he may have used an NJ d bag. I know it was slightly larger than the ont the XRS was shipped with. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.

  10. I do agree, but my point was that you don't NEED a flat top for it, in fact some prefer the A2 for the back-up sights. Of course some people prefer to mount their scopes on see thru mounts on their hunting rifles also. Not everybody's Rules are the same, although I do agree with yours. Also if you want to compete in a service rifle match, you need the fixed handle I believe. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  11. You will get alot of well intentioned responses to your post here, but take them all with a grain of salt(includes mine) You do not need an A4(flat top) to mount a scope. You can mount a scope on an A2 and have your iron sights as a back up. The Colt would not even be on my long list if I were purchasing a new AR-15. I believe most of the newer Colts are not built to Mil-spec. You are also paying way to much for the name. Josh That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! 12. I don't think you understand completely. In the story they claimed how they could just go out and purchase this gun legally. When in fact they commited a felony to show how legal it is. Personaly I think it is a stupid law and have unknownily broke it several times. I can't buy a Shotgun from a family member and travel over the state line with it? 14. Good job of making sure you only give select answers so you can prove your point. I also fish though the ice up here in the winter. I freeze my ass of and I really don't enjoy it all that much. But I love fresh fish out of ice cold water. Do I desperately need it? No. Would I fish if I could not eat the meat? Hell no. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! Hunting ban

Great post ! bt- MN is currently trying to bring back a bounty for Coyote in an attempt of encouraging more hunters to help reduce the population. I would like to think the MN DNR has some knowlegde of wildlife managment. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.

    Hunting ban

Why? Are you going to take up hunting then? Right now the Wolf pack population in Northern WI is approaching double what the WDNR would like to maintain. They are in the proccess of trying to implement a season up here to take the burdon off of the DNR to reduce the pack numbers. A recent ruling out West has complicated the issue even as far as the methods the DNR use to control this over population. The White tail deer has been over populated for years. This year we had an extended season in the southern part of the state that was about 3 1/2 months due to the population and more specifically Chronic Wasting Disease(CWD). Other parts of the state had multiple (early, late) hunts as well as opposed to the traditional 10 day season. It is a problem up here. When I started hunting you had to apply for a doe permit and you were lucky to get one. Now in a better part of the state you are forced to shoot a doe before you can harvest a Buck. If you don't like it , don't fucking hunt. As far as purchasing meat. It is very hard to find Venison and if you can you are going to pay a fortune for it. Not only is properly selected and harvested venison much more delicious, but it is SO much more healthy for you. (very few people do these steps properly much less the preparing process, and as a result many people have never truly enjoyed good venison) I love Grouse and Pheasant also. I don't see that at the supermarket much. As far as suffering the two deer I took last year were both shot through the neck and did not take a step. IMO, nothing suffers as much as a fish, and it does not matter if it is purchased or caught. You can take a fish out of cold water and it will live for hours dying a slow death. Once you get home and fillet it so that all that is left is the head, entrails, spine and the tail, the fish will still continue to live for a period of time. What do you think is done different with the fish you buy. Hey it may not be very Humane, but after all there not human and they taste damn good. If you don't like it don't eat it. But you don't have a fucking clue why I hunt. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  17. I agree with pretty much everything you have said. Hey I never said I was without faults. Sometimes my emotions get the best of me and words fly off my keyboard to quick I do stand my gound however that some people just don't eat enough meat Also I appreciate that you are familar with guns and yes I understood that from your previous post. 18. What do you mean when you say "play" It sounds like you are trying to put a spin on it like he plays with real guns the way he would play with toys with friends or video games. "play" is not a word that is usually used to describe responsible use of a firearm. This kid was on an Adult Trap league this past year. I really feel that if you spent time with him and around him handling guns you would have a different feeling. It is not like he is taking guns out of his safe and handing them other young kids without their parents permission. I realize that you may find it hard to believe that you can raise a kid that can be trusted this much. He has nothing to gain by "playing" with a gun, and everything to lose. We are never going to understand each others culture completely. For instance- I feel that not educating a child(in the culture that I live)about a possible danger is quite the opposite as protecting them from the vary same thing. We teach our kids how to use stoves, cross streets, drive cars(we do that at a pretty young age in some places over here also), so why not teach them how to handle firearms? I don't expect you to understand really, but I do wish you would use a little more discretion in the way you try to portray the enviroment we live in over here. You have the Autobahn-no chance that would ever be built over here, yet is is much safer than my grandma would ever imagine driving on it. Your children are usually allowed to consume alcohol before they are 21 years old. How can you allow that to happen. Should we not protect outr children from that danger? We learn how to use guns at an early age and those that do are much safer than you will ever imagine. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! 19. I hope your sitting down for this, but besides owning a gun, he is allowed to use the oven, use electricity, and cross the street all by himself! He is not however allowed to run around with guns for the hell of it. Nowhere did I ever say that. 50 - 100 years ago it would never have been that big of deal for a kid to go out rabbit or squirrel hunting with his dog. I have a friend in Tennesee that has an 8 year old. He has already killed two dear and a turkey, hunting with his dad at his side(1st one when he was 7). For a 12 year old to go out on his Grandpa's land hunting squirel is not that big of deal. Not for this kid it's not anyway. He has more gun smarts than most adults. Why- Education. That's how we protect our kids from dangers. No offence to you, but since I really don't know you I would feel much more comfortable around him with guns than yourself or anyone else who may not be exposed to guns much. Now I do know that you hunt so you are somewhat familar with guns. You did once make a comment that makes me wonder how comfortable you are around guns. You said something along the lines of having to go out by yourslf every year before hunting to handle and learn how to be safe with every different gun. Something to the effect that it takes a lot of time with every different gun to be safe before you go in the woods. I really don't understant that. Most guns are very simple to operate. There are only a handful of actions and types of feed. Other than practicing for accuracy, you should not need to become acquainted with a gun again for a lengthy period just to learn how to handle it. Surely not if you have been handling firearms since you were young. So you go ahead and worry about an 11 year old with a gun, and I will worry about you with one. Fair enough? Please, I have no insult intended. Just trying to get my point across although our cultures may be to far apart for that to work. 20. I have not read these posts and came to the same conclusion as you.(except from a guy in Texas). Mostly what I have read talks about their right to use a gun to defend themselves. Even those who carry mostly have said they might never need it but want to be prepared just in case. That's a far cry from the "need for guns to defend one's self, and the danger of life without guns." A far far cry, but those that don't believe in CCW or owning a weapon for self protection put a spin on everything. Whether it is intentional or not I think varies from person to person. I think some people really are that naive about our culture, others just hate guns out of ingorance and purposely spin it. Not sure about you. One things for sure though, some people don't eat enough meat. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  21. I really feel sorry for you that your perception of the US makes you shiver. Hell- I live over here and it does not bother me. I am around people with guns quite a bit. At the range, hunting, out in my familes back yard shooting. I would be more concerned with a police officer with a Firearm on his side exposed than I would a responsible citizen carying a conceled weapon. It does not bother me one bit. My 11 year old brother in law has a gun safe in his bedroom I will lay good money that that kid can handle a weapon with more confidence than yourself and be as safe as anyone you know. Not to mention you likely don't stand a chance on a round of trap(clay's) against him. You should see him shoot his REM. 700 .300 Ultra short mag. He says it doesn't hurt but you just know better. Not one person in that household considers guns as a self- defense weapon. It is not even on the list. We just like to shoot and hunt. Yes access to guns may be easy for kids. At least it will be for my kids, I will give them their first guns. I would say it has a whole lot to do with the attitudes such as yours toward Americans and their lifestyles. I myself am in no hurry to travel to Germany if your attitude is indicitive of the german population. How many times are you going to use that same line? It is Friday and I will go out somewhere for a little bit with no fear. If you really think your son could not feel safe over here at late night without a gun you have a really mixed up perception of the US. That is what I meant by a fucking stupid attitude. It is exactly that. Have you been over here and witnessed all the violence you talk about so much. Come on over. Chicago is a beautiful city. See for yourself btw if you are using the attitudes of "gun-loving posters on this site" to deem the US unsafe, you really need to spend a couple of months over here. I can't speak much for Texas but the rest ain't so bad. You worry way to much just because some of the skydivers here in SC feel the need to arm themselves daily. I could give a shit. I am just glad they have the right to do so. You Christel are more likely to get hurt from you own stress than a bullet from an American owned gun, even if you move here. 22. I read John's post. It was a fair question. One which I think you could have countered with a much more intelligent response that backed your Canadian anti-gun POV. Now go back and read your response *** Don't you find it odd that so many people are proud of living in a country where apparently a firearm is needed to protect one's life? *** Many/most of us do not feel the need to own a gun to protect our life, but just the fact that we are allowed to may help keep us safer That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  23. When are you going to get over the fact that most people own guns for sport, not self protection? I am going to a gun show on Sunday and hopefully will pick up a couple of guns. There are several guns that I could use for specific applications that I do not own. Self defense is on the bottom of my list for reasons to own a firearm. In fact if someone entered my house at night I would have a hell of time getting to a gun and chambering a round before I met the assailent. It is a non issue for me. Then again I don't live in the violent areas that all you the rest of the world portrays when speaking of the US. I live in the Chicagoland area, and for work cover Chicagoland, Detroit, St. Louis, and Wisconsin. I am proud of where I live(except for IL -I am speaking of the US as a whole), and I am proud of my firearms and the uses I have for them. That said there is nothing wrong with owning a gun for self protection. If anything it may help some people sleep more soundly. You and Christel need to really get over the fact that because some people own guns for self protection, it must be unsafe to live here without one. It's a fucking stupid attitude. 24. Huh? So you would pay taxes on California roads regardless of where the miles accumulated at? How do we come up with ideas like this? That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  25. When you say most do you mean more than half of all gun owners in the US primarily have guns for hunting? That seems like one hell of alot of hunting going on over there! ----------------------------------------------------------- also think target shooting, collecting, ect. Outside of some skydivers I know, nobody I know owns a gun for self defense. The majority of people I know do own several guns however. They are used for hunting , target , sport, collecting ect. Some people enjoy jumping out of planes, others enjoy shooting/owning firearms. I have seen several fatalities first hand from skydiving yet never have known anyone that died from a gun.(non self inflicted) That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
