  1. Just catching up on an old thread but your comments puzzle me? Do you not realize that when you are using explorer you are in fact using software? Does it really take that much less time open the files in your preferred software vs. the itunes? How old is you PC? That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! Ipod's

I used the search and did not find any current threads on these, although it has been discussed at great length in the past. Since the tech world advances so fast I thought I would start a new thread rather than read threads from last year. There are many different MP3 type players out on the market. The Ipod seems to be the more expensive of the lot. What would you all buy today or this fall if you were in the market? Any links I should read up on. A google search came up with a million pages but trying to sift through the current ones is a pain. Thanks in advance That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! 4. "making _prevailing_ minimum wage" ??? define please I used to be a Union Journeymen. I have never worked anywhere else where we could get away with cheating hours so badly. My boss would tell me how many hours to put down at the end of the day. Working for years as a non-union worker right along side Union workers I learned to develop a bad taste toward unions for their slow work. They are not all bad so don't jump me for that comment but I have been on both sides of it for many years. When I was 22 I got my first taste of "prevaling wage". I did some work for a union contractor and because I was not union they had to paid me the whole benefit package on my check. No way did I deserve to be making $28 an hour at that point in my life in Northern Wisconsin.(at that point $100,000 got you a damn nice home on a nice size lot) Not only that but I got free hours extended breaks ect. Everytime I did work for a union contractor it was the same. I would never let guys working for me get away with the shit I've seen there. On my own jobs or working for a non-union sub, if I needed to have a carpenter fix some of their work so we could begin ours, it really sucked if it was union carpenters on the job. I can remember more than once they sent two guys to to a job I could have done in 1/2 hour. They could turn this into 3 hour job with all the bullshitting. I say good job Bush. Companies are not going to lower pay on existing employees but it will prevent untrained workers taken advantage of the system. 5. Well if it continued unnoticed until the bfi dropped to unhealthy levels, it would show up at the next test. It's not perfect. I think parents have an easier time telling kids they need to eat more than telling them their fat as a whole. One has to only look at todays youth to see that. Your experience may vary obviously That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  6. I don't think it is fair to generalize so much about parents who chose not to give vaccinations to the children they love. You may not agree with their decision but it hardly comes from parents who are lazy and lack in parenting capabilites. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! 7. You crack me up. Guess what the key word is there? Not sure about the walmarts down there, but I have been to the firearm section in the various Walmarts throughout the midwest. They usually stock less than a couple of dozen guns, half of which are shotguns of varoius calibers. They other half are rifles with several being .22 calibers. Usually a Rem 700 and 710, mabey a 7400 semi if they are legal for deer in that region. Many of these guns are close to 4 feet long and they do not sell handguns. Even if people are walking around in broad daylight with these stolen long guns, it is a far stretch to jump to "gangs of tooled up civilians shooting the crap out of everything". Hell even the media has not reported that. People walk around all the time with weapons concealed on their person. Just because someone can not hide a 28" barreled shotgun does not meen there are looking for something to shoot. Mabey it is the good guys getting the guns? I would grab one given the chance to keep it out of the wrong hands. Don't belive everything you read. Or are you just implying that over in the UK, you all are so irresponsible that if you had guns available you would be shooting each other up? No wonder the fear of guns most of you have. 9. No and you statements are about as fucking naive as they come. But to answer your question President Bush was in Illinois to sign a bill yesterday during his vacation. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.

  11. I am still trying to figure out how you Know this. All the shots fired and you know it was from a sharpshooter. Do you have other knowledge other than the article you referenced? I do not see how this is any more tragic because is was a little girl. Would this not bother you as much if it were a little boy? 12. First off this is old news Second you are quick to rush to judgement based on a Media report, althought I would expect nothing less. Did you read the autopsy report? You seem to be certain that she was killed by rifle shot. You either read the Autopsy report or you put way to much trust in the media. You article linked also claims "After officers fired repeatedly into the room, Pena and the infant were found dead, with an empty 9-mm handgun resting in the father's hand, police said. Authorities haven't determined which officer's weapon killed the infant. The medical examination found no projectiles in the girl's body, the report said." Now I realize they can probably tell the difference between a cannonball and a .308 round but I find it hard to believe without a fragment the medical examiner can determine without a doubt the shot fired was from a sniper. Don't be so fucking quick to rush to judgement. I am sure everyone involved feels terrible and it is a tragady no doubt, but the asshole was using his daughter as a shield and shooting officers. Could they have done a better job? sure- sounds like the guy was out of ammo also. Did they know that? I bet the officer gets cleared in the shooting. That is assuming they can determine which one it was. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.

  14. OK I agree so mabey I should not have been so harsh to call it an absurd statement. But Americans get bashed quite a bit for forming an opinion on life overseas by what we have heard or read. If he has spent anytime in the states then I would still like to find out where it has been to still have these opinions of us. I really meant no disrespect to him and I too enjoy his contributions. 15. What parts of the US so you spend your time in? That is an absurd statement. I not only use the word black to describe a car, but I will use it to decribe the color of someones skin as well. Regardless of the skin color of the person I may be talking to. Much of what you say is well written and educated, but where do you spend time where you can't call a black person black? Damn! 17. . Can anyone who has has there child cut explain just how much pain it really seemed to cause. Of all the things I have done to may body that hurt, I just can't imagine that being cut inflicted much pain. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! 18. I am having a boy(our first child) in a couple of weeks. We plan on getting him cut. I never really put too much thought into it though. The only thing I knew about it was that there were a couple of kids when I was young that were picked on, and you could tell they felt very insecure in the shower room when we were young. Even the girls whispered and talked behind backs about it. I am 32 so mabey times have changed alot since then. To me it is a much harder desision to not cut than it is to cut. I just don't know enough to understand any GOOD reasons against having it done. I am very thankful I was cut. Although I do have a problem with parents who pierce their daughters ears at a very young age. I suppose that might be a bit hypocritical of me. I have more concerns about immunizations than I do having him clipped. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  19. I was thinking just the opposite. Perhaps some people who are unclipped feel unsecure in the shower and are trying to get more people to avoid getting cut to help them with there self esteam. I can remember how bad the couple of uncut kids got picked on back in middle school by some of the other kids. I can also recall girls talking about it too once they found out. Kids can really be mean. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  20. Why are you so fucking persistant to call me a smoker. I hate cigarettes. Now I have admitted that I have bummed them before when I was drunk. I remember the last time I had one- I smoked about 1/4th of it and had to sit down. I only brought up that I had smoked them to point out the major difference between second hand smoke and actually smoking them I don't eat chocolate either although I have been know to eat some rarely when I was really hungry. I have never been into sweets. Chocolate also gives me a little buzz because I so rarely eat it. Are you going to claim I am addicted to chocolate now? Wrong. There is a big difference between not wanting legislation passed against our behaviour and actually agreeing with it. I realize that is very hard to understand for some people. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  21. wtf are you talking about? Because I have smoked a few times in the past I am addicted? WTF. That's funny. My apologies if that is not what your implying. But if not I don't know what your point is That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  22. Uh... really? Because I have smoked one before? I think they are a disgusting habit alhtough I have been know to bum one while I was drinking before. My wife smoked before she was pregnant and it drove me fucking nuts. I would hardly call myself a smoker. They make me sick unless I am drunk. Still second hand smoke has never bothered me although those that I know that smoke in their house have air purifiers and such. My Wife's side of the family smokes heavily. Malboro Red and her Grandpa has smoked Camel straights sense he was 12. They never smoke in the house though. Most people don't that I know. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  23. And your point is? Or do you just like to point out the obvious. common sense tells us that it is much more dangerous to smoke that to just breath second hand smoke. I have never got a buzz from second hand smoke. I get a buzz everytime I actually smoke. Second hand smoke is the least of most kids worries. Kids ski, race MX, freestyle, skateboard, spend time in the sun, and you are worried about second hand smoke. If you are that worried about it don't let your kids around people that smoke. That's common sense. Don't tell me how to raise my kids though That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.

  25. Suppresors are illegal here in Illinois but I was looking into them when I was in Wisconsin. No problem to own if you pay the $200 tax and wait about 90 days. A suppressed .22 is what I was looking at and is very quiet. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
