I spoke with David Burrows of Fliteline Systems through e-mail today. He informed me that Fliteline no longer makes the integrity risers for the reasons stated by DBTECH. He also informs me that there are many people over 250 lbs. using the T17 risers with no ill effects. In fact his exit weight was 270 lbs. He also stated he jumps a reinforced riser which you can tell by (red tape within the riser). Thanks to you all and David at Fliteline I can jump with my risers and feel confident in their ability. Larry Some fun eh!

I'm like you guys 45 jumps he should be able to stop a spin. Or better yet avoid one that is not intentional. Maybe a couple of 5 or 10 second delays would help out. The DZ I jump at recently had a guy with over 800 jumps who couldn't find his pull out and kept trying untill his cypress fired. Saved his life. I not knocking it shows it could happen at any level. The sad thing is it really shouldn't. Some fun eh!

Thanks for the input, this is just one of those things. Aerodyne has pretty much been ruled out. The guy who used to own the rig I'm told was about my weight. But I don't know that he was that weight in 1997 when he bought the rig.(if he's anything like me he was 20 lbs. lighter) I'm still waiting for Fliteline systems to reply via e-mail to my questions. I bought the rig from Action Air so I think I'm going to call them and see if they can give me the previous owners phone number. Anyway thanks for the help. Some fun eh!

Actually the old ripcord method was a lot better. The ripcord handle was mounted on your chest on the right side with a silver handle just like your reserve. You could see it when you pulled and I never heard of anyone having a reserve ride because they lost the ripcord. Nor did I ever see a premature deployment. On the down side its a lot harder to pack that big spring loaded pilot chute and it requires a bigger container. Also in the late 70's the RW craze hit and everyone was going to big jump suits which created a burble and often times the pilot chute just sat there on your back. So the throw out became popular. The big jumps suits are gone, and the throw out really is unneccessary now but folks have gotten used to it and of course skydiving is fad's and fashion. If you went back to the old ripcord you would be odd man out. The new ripcord is not as much of an advantage because of its location to transision to the BOC. But it is IMO safer. Of course I'm no expert by any means. Some fun eh!

Hey Gang I recently bought a used Reflex container, with a Triathlon 175 main. The rig came with mini risers. I happened to go to the Reflex web site for some info and found out something a little disturbing. They say they make two types of mini risers one rated for 175lbs and one rated for 200lbs. I have no idea which set I have. I'm about 187lbs so I guess it could be important. I sent them an e-mail about 5 days ago and no reply since. I went to Aerodyne triathlon's web site and sent them an e-mail. Their reply (promptly I might add) was they make only one type of mini riser with no weight limit. They do not think the ones I have are manufactured by them. Have any of you heard about this weight restriction before? I have about 10 jumps on this rig with no problems so far. But of course the problem may be a future riser failure! Would you think this would be body weight or exit weight? Anyone have any thoughts about this? Any Reflex owners out there? Thanks in advance Larry Some fun eh!

Here is the proper way to wash a jump suit. You wear loose fitting shorts underneath, put a couple of handfulls of laundry soap in the pockets and then make an intentional water jump. Thats why you need one for your licensethe swoopers get to wash theirs a little more often then the rest of us. Some fun eh!

Well guys we have gotten into politics, religion, the death penalty and several other things that were supposed to hate each other over. I just want to say for the record. I would love to jump with any and all of you, regardless of our differences. Wouldn't it be great if we could get our world leaders to meet in Quincy every year, make some dives and reach a little harmony? Just a thought. Blue Skies for all. Some fun eh!

I have about 70 jumps on a PC. Not a bad canopy we had a lot fun with them in their day. Stand ups maybe 40 percent of the time. Then you had the wind thing 15 mph was a lot of wind over that forget it. And at that you were landing backwards. Spotting was an art. Nothing like the squares of today but hey we were skydiving.

Well Cam You have a good point except. Look at the prisons in countries without the death penalty. You go to a real prison, not a glorified rehab center. They have mandatory sentences, you go for a long time. No judge or bleeding heart liberal is going to get you a lighter sentence or more movies, or a college degree. The US has all of that and the prison's are not that hard to escape from because of it. Thier killers stay behind bars and are punished. Ours are not, unless you execute them. Some fun eh!

I gotta lean how to do that in reply to stuff!! I didn't mean to duck your question Iflyme, I just got busy at work and had to take off. The 30,000 people you speak of (sounds like hand gun control incorp.) First lets rule out accidents, suicides, and justifiable homicide. That leaves maybe half. Now does capital punishment help the dead. Nope its for the living. Like I said before If you put some one to death they will never kill again period. Thats a deterant to them. How about life in prison. Well the truth is most states do not have life with out parole. In fact a life sentence in a lot of states is considered 20 years. Where do I get this figure? I was a cop for 11 years I have seen it many times. I have also seen killers who have killed before, were out after serving a sentence or had escaped. Once dead they are no longer a threat. As stated earlier you have juries who may not see things the same, and decide on something less then life. The only guarantee I've seen that a person will not kill an innocent person again is the death penalty. As said before everyone has thier own beliefs and thats what makes a free country great. (you can) What about innocent folks put to death. It has most likely happened at one time or another, its not a perfect system. But I wouldn't feel any better putting an innocent person in prison for life vs. putting them to death. So its the only system we have untill something better comes along. Some fun eh!

Well lets see. There was an explosion is space and a bunch of rocks became planets. Then as one of them cooled water formed and then out of no where a one celled critter appeared. Some of the little critters turned into fish, and then some of the fish started walking on land. Some of them turned into monkeys and then the monkeys turned into man. Yea right!! You wonder if there is a heaven because people die? Well you all love to skydive and you think its one of the greatest things a person can do, so you pass it on, you try to get others to enjoy it to. As some of you know if you take some whuffo's son or daughter to jump, that whuffo don't share your excitement. They don't understand. You wonder if there is a God because bad things happen? God gave us free will to do what we want, Some choose bad things, he knows there is eternal life in heaven when some one dies he see's them share heaven and wants to share it with you to. You don't cry when some one jumps, God doesn't cry when some one dies!! For those that don't share heaven? Well everyone is given the chance. If you ask some one to go skydiving and they don't want to. Do you force them to go? To you tie them up and take them anyway? Its a choice. So a one celled critter appeared from nowhere and then became everything. Trees, fish, animals, humans you get the picture. Or God created everything. I've made my choice and of course you have yours to make. I know this subject can cause a lot of feelings good and bad my intent is not to offend any one. So I hope your not offended when I say God bless you all. And remember freedom of choice, God doesn't want robots, he wants friends!

It is a min. of 12 hours of no flying after scuba diving. But most folks recomend closer to 24 hrs. It depends on how much diving, how deep, etc. It really is a good idea to get as close to the 24 as possible. Of course anything over is great. Some fun eh!
