  1. I admit it. I am lazy. I hate packing. I pack for myself once or twice a month just so I will remember how. Every time I go to the DZ I plan to pack for myself, then the laziness kicks in. Blue Skies Steve Ok, so it's pink, but I'm secure in my manhood, and I still look cool coming in under it!

  3. Hey Joe. Welcome to the forums. Don't get intimidated by experienced jumpers. You can really learn a lot jumping with them, especially if you can get in on some 4 way or smaller RW jumps. If no one wants to jump with you so you can learn, then checkout one of the other DZ's here in GA. If your ever down in Thomaston, I'll be happy to jump with you. 4. 0:4:1 Had my 1st crew jump yesterday. 2 crew jumps yesterday. Got 3 docks on each jump, and 2 very tired arms when I was done. Not much today. 1 jump and the winds really started kicking up. 5. Well, since I am the newbie here, I'll go with whatever everyone else says. I figure whatever we do, it's gonna be a blast. Blue Skies Steve Ok, so it's pink, but I'm secure in my manhood, and I still look cool coming in under it!
  6. I just found out my 5:00 PM meeting for tomorrow was cancelled.
  7. I saw that. I wonder if anyone has actually donated? Blue Skies Steve Ok, so it's pink, but I'm secure in my manhood, and I still look cool coming in under it!
  8. How about a DZ.com night formation record to go along with the record we are already going to break? Blue Skies Steve Ok, so it's pink, but I'm secure in my manhood, and I still look cool coming in under it!
  9. Well, you already know my answers but here goes. 1. I am a little bit more relaxed on DZ.com, but in general I am a people person and I am comfortable in most surroundings, even with perfect strangers. 2. Usually but not always 3. Yes Blue Skies Steve Ok, so it's pink, but I'm secure in my manhood, and I still look cool coming in under it!
  10. I have a suggestion. Let's do both! Blue Skies Steve Ok, so it's pink, but I'm secure in my manhood, and I still look cool coming in under it!
  11. That is exactly why I asked in another thread. I think I am ready and some of my instructors think I am ready. There are even some other people I jump with that think I am ready. There are also people who say don't rush it. Get some more experience. While it is true my instructors know me best, there are a lot of very experienced jumpers here, who, even though they don't know me personally, know how someone with my experience will typically handle themselves under canopy. We all progress at different levels, but I am certain it is very rare for someone with low jump numbers to be as good or better than someone with much higher jump #'s. For me the bottom line is out of the experienced jumpers I have talked to at different DZs and at DZ.com the majority have said don't downsize yet. I choose to listen to them. Damnit! Last night I was ready to downsize and now you guys (and girls) have me sounding like a canopy-nazi. Oh well. Maybe it will help me live longer.
  12. Just like driving down the road. Blue Skies Steve Ok, so it's pink, but I'm secure in my manhood, and I still look cool coming in under it!
  13. The jumps I have done this on were in light wind conditions. I did it to practice in case I ever have to do it. I just wanted to know that I wouldn't panic. Of course I've also done a couple of unintentional downwind landings Blue Skies Steve Ok, so it's pink, but I'm secure in my manhood, and I still look cool coming in under it!
  14. From one newbie jumper to another, Welcome to DZ.com Blue Skies Steve Ok, so it's pink, but I'm secure in my manhood, and I still look cool coming in under it!
  15. So that's what the inside pocket in my jumpsuit is for. Blue Skies Steve Ok, so it's pink, but I'm secure in my manhood, and I still look cool coming in under it!
  16. No offense taken here. I don't get to concerened about tact. I prefer that you just give to me straight, no holds barred, and you did. Thanks, again. Think I'll look for a 150. Blue Skies Steve Ok, so it's pink, but I'm secure in my manhood, and I still look cool coming in under it!
  17. While I have you here. Is crew really a good way to learn canopy control in preparation for high performance landings later on? Blue Skies Steve Ok, so it's pink, but I'm secure in my manhood, and I still look cool coming in under it!
  18. See, that's why I'm here. I am getting the idea I should wait to start jumping my new canopy. That is difficult to do though. Thanks for the input. You guys are a great help keeping us newbies in one piece.
  19. I read the article. As far as downsizing. I was initially going to buy a hornet 150, but both my Aff instructors as well as a number of experienced jumpers in Rome said I would get bored with it fairly quickly. They suggested I get the 135. Now that I have it in my closet (and, yes I know it is not going anywhere) I really want to jump it. Blue Skies Steve Ok, so it's pink, but I'm secure in my manhood, and I still look cool coming in under it!
  20. Alright I can't stand it any more. I have to post. Blue Skies Steve Ok, so it's pink, but I'm secure in my manhood, and I still look cool coming in under it!
  21. At Thomaston only JR. I am talking about Sandor at Ga Skydiving Center. He is the DZO there and was my AFF instructor. He agrees with me that at my weight with 20 or so jumps over the next few weeks I should be ready for the 135. I would actually even feel more comfortable jumping in Thomaston anyway because there are more outs and more room if I had to land off. 22. Hey GQ can I bum a smoke? Blue Skies Steve Ok, so it's pink, but I'm secure in my manhood, and I still look cool coming in under it!
  23. Blue Skies, Brutus. I feel for ya. My animals have always been like having kids. It's tough to lose one. Blue Skies Steve Ok, so it's pink, but I'm secure in my manhood, and I still look cool coming in under it!
